Introduction to Annual Forecasts for 2011
Pluto is in Capricorn. It has been in Capricorn since November of 2008. Before that, the last time Pluto was in Capricorn was in the mid 1700s. Hey - that was when we had the Industrial Revolution, the American Revolution, and the French Revolution. Verrrrry interesting. In astrology, Pluto has rulership over countries, and Capricorn rules the government. That's why when Pluto returned to Capricorn in November of 2008, it was easy to predict President Obama would be elected because that was a revolutionary event! The first Afro-American President of the United States.
This year, in 2011, the next two outer planets will change signs. Neptune moves into Pisces (the very sign it rules) and Uranus moves into Aries.
Do we care?
Well, the last time Neptune was in Pisces was between 1848 - 1862. And the last time Uranus was in Aries was 1927-1935. (Tough times for many people!) However, the last time that both planets shared the signs they are moving into this year was from 1848 to 1851. Holy French fries! Those dates coincide with the great potato famine in Ireland. Does this mean we're heading into a famine? Sadly, in some places, I fear the answer is yes. Fortunately, in June this year, Jupiter the planet of wealth is moving into Taurus, the sign of tangible wealth and banks. This will bring some positive juice to financial institutions.
We are definitely entering a decade where fire hazards will be more harsh than usual. Uranus rules explosions and unpredictable events, and Aries is a feisty Fire Sign! Do yourself a favour and buy a fire extinguisher. (I did. It cost $30.) Install smoke detectors. Keep cooking areas and stoves clean. Make sure your microwave vents can "breathe." Be smart with heaters, and don't use ordinary extension cords for them. Check electrical cords and get rid of old frayed stuff. And never smoke in bed. In just one year, when Uranus was in Aries during 1845, 1000 buildings burned in a Pittsburgh fire; 1500 houses burned in Quebec fire; 1000 homes burned in New York city fire, 1600 were killed in a theatre fire in Canton, China.
Not only are fire hazards on the increase, but fiery revolutions are more likely to take place as well. Yes, the natives are getting restless. "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
We will start to see new patents for new inventions, especially related to drugs, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, gas, oil, and the film industry. The explosive quality of Uranus in Aries is very creative and exploratory!
The last time that both Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Aries occurred, we had gold rushes. "Go West, young man, go West!" Indeed, with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and wealth moving into Taurus, the sign associated with tangible wealth and banks, we can expect the economy to look richer in some way after the summer. About time!

Who Doesn't Have a Past?
Back in 1986-87, you stepped out onto the world stage, and began to take yourself seriously. (But what a challenging time for relationships!) Ten years later, by the mid-90s, everyone else was taking you seriously as well. By 1999, however, you began to dismantle much of what you created since 1986. That's because you were preparing for a change after the beginning of the millennium. In fact, around 2000-2001, good fortune smiled on you. By 2005-06, change was back in your lap and you were packing and unpacking, trying to figure out where to live. Finally, by 2008-09, you did your best to make one more residential move, or you renovated, fixed up and repaired where you already lived. You did whatever was necessary to get a sense of security about your home base. Last year, increased responsibilities with children, sports, and the arts became a serious consideration. Many of you also became more involved with friends and groups, which in turn caused you to change your future goals. (Goals are handy, but nothing really gets done without "the last minute!")
Reality Check for 2011
This is one of those curious times in your life where secretly, you're wondering what you really want to be when you grow up. Older Geminis can relate by harking back to 1980-82 and remembering this same perplexing challenge. Essentially, you want to make your mark in the world, especially in a creative way. But how to do this? That is the question. Furthermore, you don't want to do so in a frivolous manner. You have already spent a lot of time redefining who you are, and then trying to figure out where you should live. Now you want to make it all count for something! You want to offer something meaningful to society. And because you love to learn, you want to be involved in something worthwhile -- hopefully, a teaching experience for you. You want to be edified. This is because in the grand scheme of things, by around 2013, you're going to be working very hard in a specific area! So what you have to determine right now is what is that area going to be? You need Life's Lunch Menu so you know what Today's Special is, then you can choose your juicy future. (But what's worth ordering?)
Career and Reputation in 2011
This is still a great time for you to make a name for yourself in the eyes of others, especially bosses, parents, teachers, and VIPs. Once every decade (actually a little longer) each sign has a chance to put their name up in lights. It's as if everything is conducive to promoting you in a positive way. This lovely influence started last year and it is still in play in 2011. What you have to know is it will attract influential people and fortunate opportunities to you. (Hey, these things do not always come along so easily.) That's why you have to act! Of course, your challenge is you're not entirely sure where you want to focus. (Bummer.) Nevertheless, happiness is having alternatives. Therefore, give yourself as many choices as possible. Professional relationships and organizations, as well as clubs and groups, will benefit you this year. Form working units because they will be good for you. Partnerships will help you. This year, the position of Saturn will enormously benefit you by making it easier to live up to the demands of others. It's also easy to lay the framework for future success. Relationships Close (and Closer) in 2011
This is a wonderfully popular year for Gemini! You'll meet many new friends and acquaintances through casual introductions or contacts through groups. Undoubtedly, some of these will blossom into a friendship, or a business partnership, or an intimate relationship (or a meaningful one-night stand). It's time to hook up with others! This is a plus for Gemini in 2011.
Many of you will meet someone of an age difference. They could be older or younger (but more likely older). This more experienced, more worldly, or even richer person could become a mentor, advisor, and possibly a lover. (The best labour-saving device is a rich partner.) Because your idealism is aroused this year, you might really admire or "worship" this person. Perhaps you'll feel that by joining forces with them, you can help to save the world, or make society a better place, or restore five-pin bowling to its former glory.
Money in 2011 (the Folding Kind)
You have to work hard for what you get this year. You have to produce! And yet, another influence will actually bring money to you. (Go figure.) Older, richer or conservative people are going to help you by either hiring you, promoting you, or giving you a hot tip. (Fortunately, the right circumstances will be there for you to maximize.) Meanwhile, since you look so wonderful and sunny, and since people are so easily impressed with you this year, this can lead to increased earnings and promotions. You're the first one they think of calling. So grab what you can through hard work because others are ready to endorse you and help you.
Bonus: Some of you will receive unexpected income this year. It's a favourable year for financial transactions.
The Fast Track for Improvement in 2011
At a personal level, many of you are beginning to explore meditation, yoga, spirituality, and any discipline that helps you discover a deeper meaning in life. "What's it all about, Alfie? You are no longer satisfied with superficial explanations. You want to get down to the nitty-gritty, the real meaning of things. This is why some of you will explore esoteric teachings: astrology, numerology, tarot, the I Ching, the Runes and other methods of divination. (Things that you previously scoffed at now intrigue you. You're slinking home with all kinds of books wrapped in plain brown paper.)

Mercury Retrograde in 2011
You can use Mercury retrograde times or be abused by them. What's it gonna be?
(Of course, Mercury never really goes backwards. This is just "relative" to planet Earth.)
The bad news: The dates below are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones. Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. Charge your cell phone. Pay your phone bill. Keep gas in the car and a working flashlight. Smile a lot. Buy fresh flowers and dark chocolate.
The good news: The dates below are good times to tackle repairs. Clean out closets, drawers, desks and cupboards. Finish projects. Do research into the past. Study anything. Contact people from your past. Re-apply for a job. Try to get something you wanted before that fell through. Try once again! Organize old photographs. Finish that "To Do" list. These things will go surprisingly smooth!
