This week Mercury goes retrograde, which means 2022 ends with this influence and 2023 begins with Mercury retrograde as well. The last time this happened was in the year ending in 2016, and before that in 2009. This week will be a time of reflection and contemplation. We will look back at the turmoil and challenges we have survived. Although this might introduce a melancholic note, it's actually an opportunity to do an emotional and intellectual cleanse. It's the ideal time to put things in perspective. We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are. When I look back through the years - I realize I was shorter and I weighed less.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This week you will think more about your relationships with your parents and bosses and the authority figures in your past. You might also think about the dreams you had for your life direction and where you wanted to head. You will see goals that you achieved and some that you didn't. You might feel thoughtful about where you are now at this stage in your life. Nevertheless, you are ending this year, and beginning the new year, with lucky Jupiter in your sign, which is something that can happen only once every 12 years. This means this is a very fortunate transition for you. Instead of focusing on the past, focus on all the possibilities that lay ahead of you for your future. Taurus (April 20-May 20)
As this week progresses, and your year comes to an end, you might be in touch with people you went to school with before. You might also be in contact with people from previous travels. This is a powerful time for you because you are experiencing a time of harvest, a cycle that culminates only once every 30 years. You're proud of your achievements. You also see where some goals did not materialize. Nevertheless, this is a time when many of your cherished dreams are coming true. Count your blessings. Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Life has been a bit unusual for you lately because normally fiery Mars is in your sign for six weeks once every two years. However, this year it entered your sign in August and it's still there! Furthermore, at the end of October, it went retrograde and it will stay retrograde until January 12, 2023. This is why you might feel you are spinning your wheels or slogging your way through quicksand. Fear not because when this retrograde influence ends (and it will end in January) you will feel like someone took off your training wheels. You will speed forth in happy anticipation, especially enjoying increased popularity with others.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Very likely, as this year ends, you will give a lot of thought to your closest relationships and partnerships - current ones and those from your past. Of course, more than most, you have an excellent memory and you enjoy savouring the past. Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Many of you are still catching up on old details related to your job and your work. Others are focused on past issues related to your health and possibly a pet. You feel like you have a lot of unfinished business on your plate. Don't let this cloud how your year ends and your new year begins. Life is constant change and revolving doors, and we always have dirty dishes in the sink. There is never a point where "everything is done." That's an illusion. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Many of you are in contact with old flames as well as kids you might not have seen for a while. Some of you might also feel that creative projects have been mired in details and delays, which kept you spinning your wheels. Fear not! Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
As this year come to an end, you will give a lot of thought to family issues that transpired this year. This is inevitable because Mercury is retrograde in that part of your chart. It will be a time of nostalgia. As such, you might be tempted to feel blame or regret. Don't waste your time with these feelings because they are anti-productive, and they bring about no change or anything positive. There is no one alive today who doesn't have regrets. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Christmas has been a joyful time; furthermore, you have had an unusual opportunity to be in touch with friends, siblings and relatives from your past you haven't seen for a while. This is a big plus for you! Nevertheless, this particular Mercury retrograde also has you spinning your wheels. It's been difficult to make daily plans. Right now, your life is quite accelerated even though things are a bit haywire. It's all going to come together. Trust me.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This year is ending with Mercury retrograde in one of your Money Houses. This is why cheques in the mail are late, and the delivery of money and goods that you have been expecting might be delayed. It's also why financial deals are stuck in the mud or they require rethinking or renegotiating. This can be discouraging. Furthermore, Mars has been retrograde opposite your sign for several months! This has made relations with those who are closest to you more challenging. (You know these things.) The good news is these challenges and delays will be a thing of the past by the middle of next month. In turn, you can expect marvellous opportunities for vacations and chances to explore opportunities in the arts, the entertainment world and the hospitality industry. All that fun stuff!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You are ending this year with Mercury retrograde in your sign. Naturally, you will be involved with old friends and ex-partners you haven't seen for a while. You're also dealing with past issues that are frustrating, in part because your ability to deal with them seems to be stymied by miscommunications, misunderstandings and silly delays. Flip this around. Turn a 180. Instead, you can use this time to integrate everything from your past. Look at those failures and challenges and realize you're moving on. You don't need to be burdened by these things anymore. Be fearless about facing your dissatisfactions. Once you name them and acknowledge them, you can deal with them. Be like Groucho Marx: "Be gone!
