If you have an important project to get done, this week is the 11th hour because of Mars --the planet that represents bold, aggressive, sexy energy. (It also represents our ego.) Once every two years, Earth comes from behind an overtakes Mars; and as we pass this red planet, it looks like Mars is going backwards, (which of course, it isn't). However, astrologically, this symbolizes its driving force is stymied. Suddenly, for the next 9-10 weeks, we're stuck in the mud! Mars goes retrograde on Sunday, Oct. 30 and stays retrograde until Jan 12. Therefore, hustle thy buns! Forewarned is forearmed! (Remember Calpurnia? "I said, Julie, don't go! Don't go!")
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Before Pluto was discovered in 1930, your ruler Mars was also the ruler of Scorpio. For the next four weeks, the Sun will travel through the part of your chart that is home to Scorpio. This will energize Mars, which is why you will feel unusually intense, purposeful and driven to accomplish what you want to do. You might even feel obsessed or compulsive about something. "Who me?" "Yes, you." Nevertheless, despite your determination (and you will be determined) - you might be surprised how hard it is to get others to agree with you and follow your orders. Oops, shall we say "do your bidding?" Go gently.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The month ahead is tricky. For starters, the Sun will be opposite your sign for the next four weeks, which will slightly drain your energy. You will need more sleep. (Respect your need for more rest.) On the upside, something might happen that gives you greater clarity about your closest relationships or friendships. This is important. This increased clarity and objectivity can help you see how to improve a valuable relationship. Nevertheless, moneymaking ideas and your energy to work hard to earn money might become bogged down for some reason. Things are not moving forward as quickly as you had hoped. Cope as best you can until the beginning of next year.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This week introduces two contradictory forces at work for your sign. When Mars goes retrograde at the end of the week, it will be in your sign, which means you will suddenly feel a bit adrift. Something in your environment and possibly related to your health will impede your progress in some way. You might have less energy. You might have second doubts about how to do something. However ironically, for the next four weeks, the Sun will be sending you the opposite message. It will encourage you to work hard and work efficiently. You will want to accomplish as much as possible. These opposing forces will work like an ebb and flow. Perhaps you will work and then rest.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Most of you are looking at a fun, playful four weeks ahead! It's the perfect time to take a cruise, get away on a vacation, and enjoy socializing with others. Accept invitations to party! Enjoy the arts, the theatre and musical performances. Sports events along with playful activities with kids will be rewarding, delightful choices. Along with these fun opportunities, romance will also get a shot in the arm. New love might blossom! Existing romances will be cozy. The thing to watch out for is old habits that no longer serve their purpose. Be careful about being your own worst enemy. Don't doubt yourself. Be happy and grateful to be who you are!
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Your focus is on home, family and your private life in the next four weeks. Many will be involved in redecorating projects or renovations because you're excited about making where you live more attractive and functional. Very likely, you will entertain more and invite people over to see what you've done. (This same influence can promote real-estate opportunities or residential moves for some.) An opportunity to change for the better will take place at home and within your family between the Solar eclipse on Oct. 25 and the Lunar eclipse on Nov. 8. Use this! Meanwhile, involvement with friends and groups might be stalled. Just accept this.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
The pace of your days will accelerate in the next four weeks. You will want to talk to neighbours, siblings and relatives because you have something to say! You will enjoy schmoozing with others! You will also enjoy your surroundings with greater appreciation - a rewarding experience for sure. In some fashion, you might improve your communicating style with others. Perhaps you will more easily tell someone that you care for them or how important they are to you in your life. This could be because your ambition is put in perspective now. It's important to know what is really worth going after. This is something that you might reappraise or rethink for the rest of the year.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Financial matters are on your mind now because two close eclipses (Solar and Lunar) take place in both your Money Houses. This means you will give thought to your cash flow and your earnings. But you will also think more about what you need to be happy? What really matters? This is what it comes down to once your basic necessities are covered. Nevertheless, you will attract money to you, as well as think about moneymaking ideas in the next four weeks. Meanwhile, previous plans to travel and expand your world seem to be stalled in the water. As Julia Child always said, "It is what it is." She also said, "I believe in red meat - red meat and gin."
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Once a year, the Sun is in your sign for four weeks, and that time has arrived! This means it's the beginning of your new personal year (birthday to birthday). When the Sun is in your sign, you are more energized. (In fact, it's your chance to recharge your batteries for the rest of year.) It will also draw people and good opportunities to you. Take note that this is an excellent time to buy wardrobe treasures for yourself. It's also a good time to improve your job or get a better job. Disputes about shared property, inheritances and insurance matters might become entangled, or they might even disappear. They will attract less energy. Focus on strengthening your home base and stabilizing family dynamics.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
In the next four weeks, you will want to lie in the weeds and keep a low profile. You are a future-oriented sign, which is why you like to have goals and have a sense of where you might be going down the road. Fortunately, you can use the next four weeks to set goals. After all, goals give you a clearer focus on what is important to you. (Sometimes we need the reminder!) Goals can also make future decision making easier. They give you a sense of purpose and better control over your future. These are things you value! Something might come up with a partner or close friend that creates a standoff situation. You might be unsure about whether to go forward or stay where you are.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You have a lovely, popular four weeks ahead of you! Not only will you enjoy the company of friends, especially artistic, creative people, you will also enjoy being more interactive with clubs and organizations. Many Capricorns socialize by volunteering and helping in community events. You like to make your time count, as well as enjoy yourself. Do be aware that November and December will be a challenge at work because you might feel held back, ineffective or challenged in some way. Even though you are willing, obstacles will make it tough for you to accomplish a lot. Meanwhile, romance and dealing with your kids will demand your attention in the next few weeks.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
You will be very powerful for the next four weeks because this is the only time of the year when the Sun is at the top of your chart shining down on you, casting you in a spotlight. Furthermore, this spotlight is flattering! This means you will be admired by others, especially bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs - even if you don't do anything special. Obviously, you can use this to your advantage. Now is the time to make your pitch! Use this window of time to advance your agenda. Plans for a vacation or specific physical activities with kids, especially competitive, might be stalled for the next month or so. This means you have to work with what you've got. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Life is exciting because you are in a whole new world right now. This could be because you are able to travel and seek adventure more than usual. Or you might be exploring new avenues in publishing, the media, medicine, the law or higher education. Whatever the case, life has become more adventurous and thrilling! Obviously, if you can travel for pleasure in the next four weeks, do so! Be very clear in your communications with others to avoid misunderstandings. (This is the message of the Solar and Lunar eclipses for your sign.) Don't push issues at home or within the family. Go with the flow. Decide to go along to get along.
