All Signs
Please be aware that the limitations of Mercury retrograde are now in play, especially for buying computers, printers, cell phones, cars, trucks and bicycles. Mercury is officially retrograde from July 7 to August 2; however, the "shadow dates" are June 23 (today!) to August 15. Aaggh! However, this means we are entering an excellent time for meditation, retrospection, self scrutiny and dealing with deep issues like why it's impossible to avoid Icelandic Skyr pancakes with butter and real maple syrup plus strawberries and whipped cream on the side. What's a gal to do? Actually, my grandmother was born in Iceland, so clearly, I had to have seconds out of loyalty and respect for her. So far eating hasn't filled this emptiness I feel inside - but I'm no quitter.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
You're facing increased activity and chaos at home, due to renovations, redecorating projects, visiting guests or residential moves. (Gasp.) Whatever the cause, there are demands on your time; plus this chaos is creating tension among family members. In addition, some of you are in touch with an old flame. (Really?) This is exciting but sobering. You might also have to deal with old issues with your kids that have resurfaced. (Again?!) Fortunately, fair Venus in your Third House of communications, makes you pleasant and agreeable with everyone. You also have a greater appreciation for the beauty in your world. Nice!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Both the Sun and fiery Mars join forces to create a fast-paced agenda of short trips, errands, tasks reading and writing plus conversations with everyone. Fortunately, you have excellent moneymaking ideas, even though you're hemorrhaging money on beautiful things. (It's a major plus this is an excellent year to get a loan or mortgage or benefit from the wealth of your partner.) Meanwhile, retrograde Mercury attracts relatives and old friends who are going to camp on your doorstep, sleep on your sofa and eat out of your kitchen. The plus side of Mercury retrograde is that you will easily finish home repairs. Stock the fridge!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Hold onto your hats! Because Mercury is your ruler, you really "feel" each Mercury retrograde. This particular Mercury retrograde is a double whammy because it occurs in your Third House of communications, travel and ground transportation. Oh yeah. This is the real deal. Expect delays, mixed-up communications, problems with cars, buses and trucks, computer glitches and cell phone hiccups plus contact with siblings from the past as well and neighbours back in your life. Time for that protein shake! Also a good time to meditate to keep your mind clear! Steady as she goes.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You will handle this Mercury retrograde with finesse because the Sun and Mars in your sign are giving you energy, drive and focus. Nevertheless, this particular Mercury retrograde is in your Second House of earnings, financial matters and possessions. The downside of this is that cheques in the mail will be late and financial matters (as well as purchases) will be delayed. Be extra vigilant to avoid damage or loss to anything that you own. This is a poor time to initiate financial matters or moneymaking ideas. The good news is that you might find something you misplaced or lost before. Someone might pay you what they owe you. Things can come to you out of the blue! "That's mine!"
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This is an interesting week because the placement of the Sun and Mars means you want to keep a low profile. Your energy is relatively low and you will welcome solitude or a chance to work alone or behind the scenes. Admittedly, the placement of Venus does encourage schmoozing with friends, especially creative, artistic types. But the big news is that the Mercury retrograde that "begins" at this time (the shadow dates) is taking place in Leo. Your sign! Holy Cannoli! (Do you want clams with that?) Almost certainly, old friends from the past and ex-partners are be back in your world. Be smart and look good when you go out because living well is the best revenge. (Lose the leopard spandex. I mean, really?)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This continues to be a popular time, which is why you're involved in groups and clubs, perhaps competitively. You are physically involved and putting out energy! With Venus at the top of your chart, you look fabulous to bosses, parents and VIPs. In fact, a flirtation with someone in a position of authority might begin. Meanwhile, the shadow dates of the Mercury retrograde (and Mercury is your ruler) begin today; and this particular Mercury retrograde is taking place in a hidden part of your chart. This bodes well for you. It will really help you do research and dig into the past if you want to learn something, especially if you want to explore your own hidden psyche. Boo!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
The Sun is still at the top of your chart, shining a flattering light on you, which is why you look so fabulous in the eyes of authority figures. "Here come da judge!" You make a great impression because Mars is also at the top of your chart arousing your ambition and making you independent and bossy. (You will call the shots.) However, Venus beckons with allure to seduce you to slip away for some fun travel. Venus also encourages you to explore consciousness-expanding experiences and beautiful places because your appreciation of beauty is heightened. You will hear from old friends because Mercury retrograde will put you in touch with old pals plus people from organizations you used to know. Coffee?
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Things are looking swell! After all, this is a year where you get richer! Right now, you want to explore further your education, and perhaps travel and explore ideas in publishing, the media, medicine and the law to discover ways to extend your reach in the world. Yes! You want more out of life! Venus is in one of your Money Houses attracting gifts, goodies, cash favours to you. Naturally, this is your lucky month! Venus also boosts your sex drive and attracts sizzling romance into your life. However, this particular Mercury retrograde is sitting at the top of your chart, which means interactions with parents, especially from the past, will resurface again. You might also run into bosses and authority figures you haven't seen for a while. ("Donald?")
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Naturally, this is a fortunate time because your ruler lucky Jupiter is in your sign this year! Enjoy this blessing while it lasts because you won't have it again until 2031. Right now the placement of the Sun and Mars makes you intensely passionate - sexually as well as passionate in every aspect of your life. Mars indicates there might be disputes about inheritances and shared property. Fortunately, Venus right opposite your sign, creates warm relations with others, especially partners and close friends. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This continues to be a time when you need more sleep. This could be because you feel drained being at odds with someone. They are so annoying. Actually, this is the perfect opportunity (don't you hate it?) to cultivate patience because you can't practice patience when everything is fine. You need to feel irritated! Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This week you will work hard and play hard. You're working hard because you want to get better organized but also at a deeper level, you want to manage your life more efficiently. (Smart move.) Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
It's play city for Pisces and you want the freedom to do exactly what you want. And what you want is to have a good time!
