All Signs
Last week I mentioned Mercury will be retrograde from Nov. 17 to Dec. 6; (buffer dates are Nov. 9 to Dec. 24). This means if you want to buy a cell phone, a computer, a car or truck - do it now because from Nov. 9 until Xmas, it's a poor time for these purchases. (This bears repeating.) Each Mercury retrograde is different because it occurs in a different sign, which means it happens in a different part of your chart. Of course, they are all maddening because of the delays and silly errors that occur. (Aaggh!) This week, Mercury move into Sagittarius, which means the pending Mercury retrograde will take place in Sagittarius. Arthur C Clarke (Dec. 17, 1917 - Mar. 19, 2008) said, "I don't believe in astrology; I'm a Sagittarius, and we're skeptical."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This continues to be a passionate, intense week because the Sun is in Scorpio. In particular, it will heighten your focus on sex and other people's wealth and money. (Interesting combo.) Admittedly, you will also be taking care of details regarding taxes, debt, inheritances and insurance issues. Mars continues to promote activity with groups and friends, especially competitive action. "I win!" This week, Venus moves opposite your sign to pave the way for warm relations with others for the next month. Mercury retrograde will bring glitches and delays to future travel plans. Best to travel somewhere you have been before. Good news: Mercury retrograde will help you finish a thesis, a paper or a book. Yay!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You still need more sleep. (Go to bed.) Your focus on partners and close friends is strong this week and will give you opportunities to learn more about your style of relating to others. Mars at the top of your chart continues to rev your ambitions as it has done all year. Venus is moving into your 6th House this week, which could bring you a raise or praise from coworkers and bosses. It definitely promotes warmer relations on the job. It's a good time for health in general, although fattening and sweet foods are extra tempting. There is good news and bad news for your pending Mercury retrograde: It might delay money coming to you. Cheques in the mail will be late. However, it's "backwards" action will help you to finish red-tape details with taxes, debt, inheritances, wills, and insurance issues. This stuff will go quickly! (You might hear about an inheritance.)
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is a busy, productive time because of the placement of the Sun in your chart. You want to be efficient and effective in everything you do because you want results for your efforts. You will be more focused on your health this week. Fortunately, Venus promises fun times, parties, social outings, movies and a greater interest in sports events. "He shoots! He scores!" Meanwhile Mars will heighten your interest in travel and expanding your mind. Some of you might be involved with the law and the courts. Take note that this particular Mercury retrograde is opposite your sign, which means almost certainly, you will hear from ex-partners - both professional and personal. Look good because, "Living well is the best revenge."
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You still want to get out and have a good time! Relationships are fun. You want to be free to express yourself and be who you are! You feel lighter than usual and eager to socialize by exploring romance, good times with others plus the enjoyment of theatre and film. To further enhance this fun, your sex drive is amped! (Some might have disputes about inheritances and shared property.) Venus will encourage entertaining at home plus redecorating and shopping for pretty things for where you live. Mercury retrograde however, will play havoc with your efficiency at work. Expect lost papers, delays, mixed-up communications, cancelled appointments, late deliveries and goofy errors that are maddening. The upside is that health issues that were a puzzle might be resolved.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Home, family and your private life continue to be your primary focus. Yet again, like most of this year, you have to be patient with partners and close friends because they seem to be annoying! (Let's face it, they are!) Fortunately, Venus now enters the part of your chart that governs your daily communications, which means that for the next month, your social life will pick up. You will be keen to talk to others. You want to let others know how much you love them. You will also encounter beauty in your everyday surroundings. (A short drive in the country will be enjoyable.) Mercury retrograde will attract old flames from the past back into your world. You might also have old issues with your kids. Oy vey.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This continues to be a fast-paced week full of errands, short trips, reading, writing and studying plus involvement with siblings and relatives. You're busy! Fortunately, fiery Mars is still in your House of Employment, making it easy to put your best foot forward at work. In fact, you are working so hard, you are delegating to others. Venus enters one of your Money houses this week, which is good news because in the next month. it will attract money to you! However, it will also encourage extravagance. (Hey, ya gotta live!) Mercury retrograde will attract relatives to your doorstep. Expect to hear from family members you haven't seen for a while. The coming month is also an excellent time to tackle home repairs that have been "waiting" for you. ("I'm still here.")
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You still have money on your mind. Cash flow plus moneymaking ideas! One reason you're counting your pennies is you're keen to have fun! You want to explore restaurants, vacations and social outings and be generous to your kids. This takes money. In addition, this week Venus moves into your sign, which means it's the perfect time to buy wardrobe treasures for yourself. Venus also promotes your desire to socialize! For your sign, Mercury retrograde will be particularly maddening because it will create confusion in your communications with others along with transportation delays - missed buses, trains, and car breakdowns or problems with vehicles. Check your tires.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
This continues to be a powerful time because the Sun is in your sign attracting people and favourable circumstances to you. Make the most of this! Venus has just moved into a hidden part of your chart, which is an indication that secret love affairs and trysts are taking place for some. Fiery Mars is still sitting at the bottom of your chart where it's been for most of this year stirring up increased activity, chaos and insanity at home. This could be due to visiting guests, residential moves, renovations or redecorating projects. Mercury will go retrograde in one of your Money Houses, which is good and bad. The bad news is that money owed to you, especially your own salary will be late. (Cheques in the mail will be held up perhaps with postal strikes.) However, if looking for work, this is a good time to go back to previous employers and places you worked before. Good to know.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Keep a low profile and take advantage of every opportunity to be introspective and reflective. Size up what happened last year. What do you want for your new year (birthday to birthday)? Think about these things and make some goals. Mars continues to make you a direct, forthright communicator. It also spurs short trips plus your love of reading. Despite your desire to be low-key, Venus will encourage socializing with artistic, creative friends. (You will enjoy this.) Mercury will go retrograde in your sign. The people who are born in the first week of December will feel this the hardest. Frankly, everything will go off the rails. Get as much done as possible ahead of time. Cut yourself some slack and cope as best as possible. Fortunately, the frustrations of Mercury retrograde are relatively minor - but maddening!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Your popularity continues! In fact, this is an excellent time to sit down with friends or members of groups and set future goals. Venus at the top of your chart now paves the way for relations with bosses, parents and VIPs. In fact, Venus can make things so cozy, some of you will strike up a romance with a boss. Expect someone to ask for your input on design, layout work, office redecorating etc. Mars continues to boost your earnings and at the same time, entices you to spend big! For you, this pending Mercury retrograde will be useful. It promotes your ability to do research and come up with answers and solutions to old problems. The rest of this year will make the study of history and research into the past a productive choice.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
The Sun is still at the top of your chart, casting you in a wonderful, flattering light. (Everyone think you walk on water.) Obviously, this is the time to make your pitch! Venus has just moved into the part of your chart promoting travel for pleasure and an increase love of higher knowledge. Your appreciation of beauty will be enhanced, so you will enjoy museums, art galleries, pristine parks and the discussion of profound ideas. With Mars in your sign, you're still going gangbusters! Get some physical exercise to blow off pent-up steam that might build up. Retrograde Mercury will bring friends from your past back into your world. You love your friends! This will be a great chance to trade lies and talk about the bad old days.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You want to get outta Dodge. Grab every opportunity to travel! Explore learning as well by taking a course or going back to school. Venus has just moved in one of your Money Houses, which means people will give you gifts, money and do favours for you. In the next month, it will be easier to get a loan. Also, your partner might make more money. A new love relationship - very physical and passionate - might begin. (Certainly, sex will be hot and memorable!) Meanwhile, retrograde Mercury will soon take place at the top of your chart. This will cause many of you to rethink your long-term goals and your life direction in general. You might also bump into bosses from your past. A few might even reconnect with parents. ("Hi Darth.")
