All Signs
Mars is energy! When it travels through any part of your chart, it energizes that part of your life. This energy can be useful. It can be sexual. It can also be aggressive because Mars is the God of War (Ares). Normally, once every two years, Mars is in your sign for about seven weeks. (This is not too often.) This year is different. This week Mars enters Capricorn to stay for eight weeks; then moves into Aquarius for 12 weeks; then it moves back again into Capricorn for five weeks; then returns to Aquarius for nine weeks. Wow! Mars hovers between just two signs until mid November. That's a strong punch in a small part of your chart! Let's look at what this unusual activity of Mars means for all of us. (Incidentally, Cupid was the son of Mars. Omnia vincit amor. Love conquers all.)
Aries (March 21-April 19)
When Mars is bouncing back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius, this means it will be at the top of your chart until mid November. This is a big jolt of energy that takes place in a public "everybody-can-see you" way. For starters, it will totally arouse your ambition as never before. Oh yeah! You'll be PowerPoint on steroids! This means you intend to do a massive amount for the rest of this year - starting this week. You will have a strong ambition to achieve your goals and you will work extremely hard to do so. Be careful about conflicts with parents and authority figures. You might even have conflict with friends and groups. Nevertheless, Mars is your ruler and when it's at the top of your chart, you're riding high! Look out world!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Like Aries, (hey - you're right next door) for the rest of this year, Mars will be high in your chart as well. However, the shift will be subtly different because it begins with a strong desire on your part to travel and enjoy a change of scenery. You want to put energy into expanding your mind by opening up to new dimensions of reality. Again, you can do this through travel, study and talking to people from different backgrounds. You might also be involved with the law more than usual. (Oops.) You will have strong opinions, especially about politics, religion and racial issues. And yes, for most of this year, your ambition will be aroused. You will feel independent and want to be your own boss. Be kind to the little people. After all, you need them.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
For some reason, in the next few months, you might be involved in disputes about shared property and red-tape issues like taxes, debt, insurance matters, wills, estates and inheritances. Some kind of confrontation will occur. You might have to rethink your position in these matters. Meanwhile, back in the boudoir, your sex drive will be amped! ("He was strong and compassionate and he really knew how to accessorize.") And for a large part of this year, especially in the summer, you want to travel and get outta Dodge. You also want to convey your beliefs and ideas to others, even to the point where you have to defend them. Well, it always gives you joy to expand your mind and learn new things. "Look - a bright, shiny object!"
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Patience is a virtue. And wise people know that it is beneficial to cultivate a virtue. I say this because Mars will be opposite your sign for much of this year and it will also be in an area indicating disputes about shared property and inheritances. This means you will be tested. You might find yourself at odds with others. Very likely, you will be annoyed with someone because frankly, they're annoying. Nevertheless, your goal in life is to be happy. If you're annoyed with others, you ain't happy. This will be your challenge. How can you be happy this year if others annoy you? Your only recourse is patience. Remind yourself that when the annals of history are written - all this stuff is peanuts. It really is.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You are entering a couple of months of work mode where you will bust your buns to show the world what you can do. You want to be efficient and productive for your own sense of reward and satisfaction. You want to get it right; and you're prepared to put out the effort to do so. Fortunately, Mars will help you do this! Roll up your sleeves and get busy because you will take pride in what you achieve. But be careful. Mars is ego. You won't be a team player because you want credit for what you do. The truth is we never really achieve anything by ourselves. In everything you do, someone else played a role. Perhaps they cleared the road you drove to work? Perhaps they grew, picked or raised the food you ate? How about some humble pie for dessert?
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Lucky you! Mars is fiery and explosive. For some signs, it triggers conflicts. For you, Mars will amp your ability to play and have fun! (I'm not making this up.) In the next few months, your focus will be on the arts, the theatre, sports events, fun times with others, parties and social gatherings. You will enjoy playful activities with kids. Mars will amp your desire in a sexual way. For the rest of this year, you will enjoy vacations and fun times but you will also accomplish a lot as Mars bounces back and forth between two signs. Take care of yourself. Get ready to work hard and party hard! (Mom always liked you best.)
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This week starts the narrow focus of Mars, which lasts until mid November. For your sign, it will initially be an increase in activity and chaos at home. Renovations, residential moves, visiting guests - will pump the energy of your home and family. Be careful because Mars encourages conflict and agitation. You don't need this. Therefore, consider this an opportunity to cultivate and practice patience with your loved ones. Patience is a virtue; and you cannot practice patience unless you are provoked. You will also focus on play, recreation, vacations, romance and fun stuff this year. Oh yes, you'll get your rewards! (Spruce up your wardrobe to get ready for an exciting summer.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
For a variety of reasons, the tempo of your everyday life will accelerate in the next few months. Fortunately, your energy will be high and you can handle this. Short trips, increased reading and writing, travel, conversations with many different kinds of people (new faces - new places) will rev your energy and make life stimulating and exciting! However, beware one thing: You will identify with your beliefs and might come on too strong or try to coerce others to agree with you. Don't do this. You are intimidating even though you don't think you are. The good news is it's a strong time for those who sell, market, teach, act and write. You will also be involved with home and family in a hectic way this summer. Mucho activity! Drink smoothies and stay strong!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Money, earnings and possessions are on your mind in the next few months, and to a great extent for the rest of the year. Are you contemplating a major purchase? When Mars is in your Money House, you tend to identify more strongly with what you own. You feel that your wealth is testimony to your worth. If you have money - you're a good person. If you don't - you're a failure. Would Gandhi agree with this? What makes anyone a good person? (You know - you're no fool.) Disputes about money and what you own might arise. If you need what you own - great. If you don't need what you own - it's just a pile of rust waiting to happen. You know this, too. Give it away.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
With fiery Mars in your sign for the next two months, there will be lots of activity in your life! You will work hard to achieve what you want because you know this is your chance to show others what you can do. You will be more of a fighter for your own rights - and perhaps even the rights of others. Your physical energy will be high, which will allow you to accomplish a lot. It's a positive time in your life. However, don't be too pushy! Because Mars is ego - you want to be free to do whatever you want and the sooner others understand this - the happier everyone will be. You will also work hard to earn money, especially this summer. Looks like you mean business!
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
The fluctuation of Mars between two signs for the rest of this year brings about a curious contradiction in your life. For the next two months, Mars will be "hidden" in your chart, which means you will be more inclined to work alone or behind the scenes. It can also mean that hidden enemies are at play. If you suspect someone does not have your best interests at heart, you're right. This summer when Mars moves into your sign, suddenly you are bold, brave, active and strong! You are out there flying your colours! Hey, this is not surprising because in the big picture, lucky, moneybags Jupiter is at the top of your chart indicating that the world sees you as a winner this year! You can't lose.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You're ready to define your goals and actively pursue them in the next few months. You will be future oriented. It's important to know that the best way for you to move forward to achieve your goals will be working with others. This means you have to coordinate your needs and interests with the needs and interests of friends and groups. Admittedly, you might have difficulties with someone. But you will also enjoy physical activity with others, perhaps even competition. This might involve travel and increased interaction with people from other cultures. This summer Mars will be hiding in your chart, which means you will work quietly continue to achieve your goals. You're looking at a productive and fascinating time ahead!
