OMG! The countdown has begun. "Back to school" is Tuesday, Sept. 5. We have one week left of summer craziness! This means this week is our last chance to do all the things we didn't get done because the summer just zipped by. Sigh. Happens every year. (Time flies when you're unconscious.) Jump up and do whatever you can to feel you didn't miss out on summer. Slip away on a last-minute vacation. Picnic at the beach! Go swimming! Take your kids somewhere because these summer activities build memories for the future. Like the time Jimmy barfed all over Dwayne's head on the roller coaster. Those are the things you never forget. No matter how much you try.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This week you are in both work mode and play mode. In other words, you do want to work and accomplish as much as possible. In fact, you want to be efficient, effective and productive! You will extend these same high standards to your health as well because suddenly you want to be near perfect. (Nothing wrong with that as long as you remember perfection is impossible.) Meanwhile, three other planets urge you to play! They encourage romantic outings, social diversions, sports events and one planet in particular - Mercury - will attract old flames back into your world. You might want to rekindle old memories or carry a fire hose wherever you go. Your call. ("I'm melting! I'm melting!")
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This week you now have a last-minute fever of wanting to get away on a fun vacation and do it all up big before Labour Day. "This is my last chance!" Not only do you want to pursue pleasurable escapes, you want to feel you have the freedom to do your own thing. That's the important detail. That special freedom! ("I gotta be me!") After all, more than any other sign in the zodiac, you love your creature comforts and good times. Things still look good at work; and many might still improve your job or get a better job. This is the perfect time to wrap up old details and old business already started that affect your home and real estate scene. Redecorating projects are in play!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Your focus continues to be on home, family and your private life this week. In fact, an interaction with a parent could be significant for many of you. You are also still in play mode looking for opportunities for vacations, romantic escapes, sports events and fun activities with children. This particular Mercury retrograde is frustrating for you. It's easy to forget things or lose them. Mail is late and transportation delays are a drag. But it comes to your communications with others, there's a mixed blessing. Mars makes you strong and forthright; Venus sweetens your words; however, Mercury retrograde creates misunderstandings, confusion and even arguments. "I never said that!" "Yes you did." Grrrrr.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This is a busy, active time for you. Many of you will take short trips this week and spend time with siblings, neighbours and relatives. You're keen to talk to others because you have something to say. In all likelihood, you want to enlighten someone about something. You're also thinking about money and cash flow, in large measure because you're spending it! You are never irresponsible with money; nevertheless, right now you are buying goodies for yourself and loved ones. Mercury retrograde might create a few problems. Prepare for the worst and keep your receipts and boxes. Happiness is having alternatives.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This week fair Venus, feisty Mars and retrograde are all in Leo. Mars makes you busy! You're working hard and juggling many tasks. But Mars can also make you come on too strong with others because Mars makes you dominant and bossy. (Me? Kitten?) You're ready to fight, especially if attacked. But ya know? -- You have to ask yourself if it's worth it because sometimes you just end up with egg on your face. (Ketchup helps.) It's your ego that is offended. Fortunately, Venus softens and restores sanity. It makes you charming, diplomatic and aware of your behaviour and impulses. Retrograde Mercury will create a temporary insanity - but the key word is "temporary." Relax, you're just fine. In fact, splendid!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Well, it's all about you, dear Virgo. This is your time of year so go big or go home. Make use of this wonderful advantage while you have it because the Sun is in your sign for only four weeks once a year attracting opportunities and people to you. In particular, look for ways to boost your earnings! Meanwhile, three planets are hiding in your chart, which is an indication that a lot of secret stuff is going on including romantic trysts and love affairs. For some reason, you are playing your cards very close to your heaving bosom. Fortunately, Mercury retrograde will facilitate any kind of research you want to do - and believe me, you're an amazing researcher!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Life is blowing hot and cold for you lately. In one way, you want to socialize. You want to be active with groups, friends and take charge of situations. "Everything's fine - I'm here.") You will enjoy hanging with creative, artistic people as well as participating in physical activities, especially competitive ones. And yes, old friends from the past are back in your world. However, you also need quiet time just for you to rest and recuperate. You often stretch yourself too thin with your social obligations and your desire to please everyone. Take time for yourself right now before your birthday arrives in all its grand glitterati!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Take charge of life right now. Look around you and see what needs to be done. People will make demands of your time because they want your input in clubs, groups and associations. Even friends want face time. Meanwhile, because your ambition is aroused and the opportunities exist, there are many ways that you can advance your career and promote your good name among your peers. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You are still looking fabulous to everyone, especially parents, bosses and VIPs because of the position of the Sun at the top of your chart. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You're at the end of a two-year window (perhaps a bit longer) of giving up things. You've had to let go of people, places, partnerships and property. It's almost exhausting. However, the New Year will promise so much that is fresh and exciting! Keep your on the prize. Meanwhile, grab every opportunity to travel or get further education and training. Opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine and the law are excellent right now. Disputes about shared property and inheritances can be settled, possibly in your favour. Certainly, gifts, goodies and advantages are yours for the taking. Meanwhile sex is hot, passionate and saucy - just the way you like it
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This continues to be an intense time. One reason ths might be is because ex-partners are back in your life again. Traditionally, Aquarians like to remain friends with their ex's. (All my exes are in Texas.) This doesn't go over with some signs. Discussions about shared property and inheritances might be demanding at this time. Or you might also have to face a situation where you realize your values and the values of someone else are just different. It's that simple. Two opposing influences are at play now. Mars makes you easily annoyed with others (to be fair, they are annoying). Fortunately, Venus makes you gracious, patient, diplomatic and charming. So you are like that combination of the theatre masks - tragedy and comedy. (Maybe Jekyll and Hyde is a better example.)
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Once again -- a reminder that you need more sleep now because of the demands of your daily world. Just accept this and go to bed. However, at this particular time, you are in the best phase of the entire year to be able to learn more about your style of relating to those who are closest to you. Don't take this for granted. This opportunity only happens for four weeks every year when the Sun opposes your sign and that is what is happening right now. Therefore, be aware of your style of relating. Watch yourself like a director watching a play. Be aware. Whatever you learn will only make your life easier and your relationships more successful. Fortunately, you have lots of energy to work, which is a good thing because that trickster Mercury retrograde will create little glitches and errors that are frustrating. "Curses! Foiled again!"
