All Signs
Since the end of last month, Mercury has been slowing down; and this week it goes retrograde. On June 5, it will reach 3 degrees in Cancer and hover at 3 degrees for five days. (Usually it clips along at 2 degrees a day.) Then it will move backwards until on June 17, it returns to Gemini. ("Hi. It's me again!") Although the retrograde is technically over on July 2, Mercury will still be way back in Gemini. Not until it goes forward and once again reaches 3 degrees in Cancer, will we be in the clear to buy cars, trucks, bicycles, computers and cell phones. That date will be July 16. Holy Moly Guacamole! June will be plagued with delays and mistakes! But it will be the perfect time to wrap up unfinished business because "one of these days really means none of these days."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This month has challenges because this particular Mercury retrograde is pesky for Aries. That's because it takes place where Mercury lives! Think teenage bedroom. Mercury will be free to cause trouble in the way that it knows best - "Hey, this is my home turf!" Expect transportation delays, flat tires, engine problems and missed buses while you do daily errands or take short trips. Conversations with others will be plagued by misinformation and mistakes. The mail will be late. But this is your chance to finish writing projects or wrap up tasks related to your immediate environment. Expect to talk to siblings and relatives you haven't seen for a while. (Maybe they owe you money?)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This Mercury retrograde affects your finances. Expect cheques in the mail to be late. Issues with cash flow, earnings and money will be delayed. Payments will be delayed. If someone needs to return an item or money they borrowed, this will be late. Your plans to clean, repair or maintain something you own could be delayed or -- on the other hand, (fortunately this can work both ways) - if you have been meaning to repair or clean something, then this project could go swiftly! Yes, you can use Mercury retrograde to your advantage. Postpone purchases of computers, cell phones, cars, trucks and bicycles i.e. anything to do with communications, messages and ground transportation.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You will feel this Mercury retrograde because although it starts in Cancer, it quickly slips back into your sign so most of the action happens in Gemini. Just accept things gracefully. Allow extra time for everything you do because there will be minor frustrations and forgetfulness. You will misplace items, lose things, miss appointments, be late for things, and wait at the wrong place ("I meant the other Starbucks!"). You will also be plagued with computer errors, late mail, mixed up messages and transportation delays. Ex-partners will be back in your life, which could be good or bad. Be calm. You're not losing it. But remember: The e-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Because this Mercury retrograde begins in your sign, you will be in contact with old friends and ex-partners. Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes not. It depends on your history. (And Lord knows, you stay in the wrong relationships too long.) But this also offers you a chance for closure or redefining things. The upside is it will help you to finish little projects you have on the books. All those things you've been "meaning" to do? That is the blessing of Mercury retrograde. (Yes, it's not all bad.) When it comes to doing things you've been avoiding - you will be like a hot knife slicing through butter. If you take advantage of this Mercury retrograde in the right way - you will get a lot done.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Naturally, you will suffer from delays, mistakes and transportation problems this month due to Mercury retrograde. But you will also encounter old friends and members of groups from your past. It's good to have history with others. This is your chance to catch up on gossip and laugh about the bad old days. It's also a good time to reassess future goals. What are some of the things you were hoping to achieve? Surely, some of these were a good idea, no? Why not resurrect one of these ideas and move it to the front burner? Start cooking now because in late July, lucky, moneybags Jupiter will be in your sign for the first time since 2003. For a whole year! Good luck is being prepared when opportunity arises.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This particular Mercury retrograde is taking place at the top of your chart, which means it will involve your relationship with authority figures - parents, bosses, teachers, VIPs and the police. Two things will occur at the same time: Your interaction with these people will be plagued with silly errors, delays and misunderstandings. Be aware of this and speak clearly. And yet, at the same time, you have a wonderful opportunity to finish old business with authority figures. It's also the perfect time to contemplate your life direction in general. Where do you want to go?
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
The best laid plans of mice and men are held up when Mercury is retrograde. You will feel the effects of this retrograde for the entire month of June, and to a lesser degree, in the first two weeks of July. Fortunately, Mercury retrograde is not all bad, especially for your sign. Yes, you will be plagued with silly errors, delays in appointments and meetings, and a general confusion with tasks and communications. Delays and rescheduled travel plans are also likely. But the good news is this Mercury retrograde will help you finish your book, thesis or any project related to higher education, the media, publishing, medicine and the law. How cool is that?
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
The Mercury retrograde this month can be useful for you. The downside is that cheques and payments to you will be late or stalled for some reason. Discussions and agreements surrounding inheritances, taxes, debt, shared property and insurance matters will be subject to errors and confusion. Double check everything to make sure others understand what you say. But the upside is that these same areas can be swiftly brought to conclusion and finished, because Mercury retrograde wants to finish old business. Always! You might successfully wrap up something that has been lingering for years!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
The Mercury retrograde this month focuses on ex-partners and old friends. These people will be in contact with you again. (Some already have been.) According to the history of these relationships, this will be pleasant or not. But some of them will be a chance to laugh it up with old pals. Ex-marriage partners or business partners could give you a chance to clear up misunderstandings or provide closure that settles things once and for all. Although this month is a poor time to enter into new partnerships, if the wheels have already been turning, and you are now finalizing the business of a new partnership - it's perfect. But remember: What the large print giveth, the small print taketh away.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This Mercury retrograde, which is in effect all June and into July, will affect your job. For the most part, it will encourage miscommunications, errors, delays and silly, goofy mistakes. They're generally small but they eat up time and they're frustrating. You might feel people don't give you enough warning or you might suffer from staff shortages or things that create inefficient productivity. This can be a drag. But hey -- you can use Mercury retrograde. Since it affects your job (and even your health) you can use its energy to quickly finish all projects and tackle whatever is already on your plate getting dusty. (If you take the plunge, return it by Thursday.)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Old flames and ex-lovers are back on the scene again because of the energy of the Mercury retrograde this month. This could prove interesting or frightening, depending on how the affair ended. Generally, you like to stay friends, which often appalls others. ("Are you kidding?") But hey --you're right, maintaining a friendship with an ex-lover is civilized. Some of you will hear from your kids, especially if you've been out of touch. This month will be a great opportunity to finish creative work, arts and crafts projects, and anything you have wanted to get off the ground related to the hospitality industry, the entertainment world and sports. Get as much done as you can!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Your focus in the month of June will be on family, home and your private life. That's because Mercury retrograde is taking place in this part of your chart. This means relatives will be on your doorstep, sleeping on your sofa and eating you out of house and home. (Stock the fridge.) Family reunions are likely. Friends and family will drop by. Naturally, there will be confused communications with relatives. Be aware of this. However, this is a great month to wrap up redecorating and renovating projects at home or unfinished details with a family business or family negotiations. It will please you to finish things that have been lingering foreeeeever. In 4 to 6 weeks - this stuff will be done!
