All Signs
I have written many first weeks but although other first weeks were not significant for the first week of the year, this one is! There are several planetary influences indicating enthusiastic beginnings, sudden changes and energy that is entrepreneurial and pioneering. ("Where no man has gone before.") This is encouraging because according to an Eastern belief, how a thing begins is a clue to how it unfolds. If so, this year will be full of energetic enthusiasm, surprising detours and go along at a very brisk pace. It will be feel-good with much good fortune for many. But, as the pessimists say, "When something good happens it's a miracle and you should wonder what God is saving up for you later." Oy vey.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This week your interaction with others will be competitive and physically hands-on. But it will also be high energy and fun! You might be in charge of a group or assert yourself in a way that assumes leadership. It's a wonderful energy for sports, as well. You're keen to assert your independence and define your relationships with others. In particular, you will formulate your future goals with special thought to how they relate to friends and groups. Partly, you are motivated to secure your long-term direction in life in a practical way. Yet, although you're motivated by a conservative need for security, you intend to go about getting this in your bold, brave Aries style!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You intend to go for the gold! You are enthusiastically ambitious about something. Probably because you can smell money! (You love to wrap yourself in cash. It's your tactile nature.) Some kind of bright, innovative behind-the-scenes activities will catapult you to prominence in terms of your professional reputation with your peers. And yes, your motivation is to increase your earnings and have lots of money to spend. (After all, money is only useful if you spend it.) You're impatient for your success, nevertheless, you can plan with great foresight. Work-related travel is likely involved. It looks like this year will truly benefit you financially. Ka-ching!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is a winning year for you because it starts out with lucky Jupiter in Gemini dancing with fiery Mars. (And Jupiter will stay in your sign until summer!) This indicates lots of travel opportunities along with opportunities to explore higher education and to take advantage of avenues in publishing, the media, medicine and the law. An unusual offer from a friend or unexpected support from a group might help you do this. You're going to put a lot of energy into expanding your mind in new ways that will open up new dimensions of reality. This could mean exploring different belief systems or studying other cultures. (If you always plow a straight line, you're in a rut.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You're going to confront something this year and win the encounter. Furthermore, your victory will transform your life. This transformation could occur because you meet someone who is a teacher or it could be a relationship that causes you to change. Your sex drive will be strong this year. (And you'll be active!) You'll also contest inheritances, shared property and anything you own jointly with others. Again, the results look favourable. Possibly, the wealth and resources of others will allow you to become self-employed or be more independent. Certainly the perception of this seems to be the case. (Don't worry, it won't be an orphandectomy - that's when you have your parents removed.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This week you'll be involved with partners and close friends and even the general public. Well, it's been said that when dancing life's dance you should keep your eyes on your partner, and it appears that's what you're doing right now. Some will meet people from other cultures and different countries. Others will hook up by meeting someone in a group. All relationships this week (and this year) will be enthusiastic. You will physically share things with others, perhaps even daily exercise, or you'll be physically competitive. (Leos have such style they know that it's not who wins or loses that matters, it's how you look playing the game.) You're working hard now to secure and repair your home.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
You're gung ho to get things done. You love to be organized (which doesn't mean that you always are). But the wish is there and motivation is everything. This week you will throw your energy into working hard because you're taking great pride in your work. But you do want credit for what you do. (You don't want to be a team player.) That's because you identify with what you're doing and you're particularly proud of your success at tackling big jobs! The only downside is that the supportive resources of others might be shaky or interrupted. But you can be sure that your excellent efforts will boost your reputation in the eyes of others. No question!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This is a week full of amusing diversions, fun and pleasure. Romantic vibes will be strong. Your desire is high and physical lovemaking is on the agenda. You feel playful, prankish and you want to express your creativity. You won't do what you don't want to do, and you will slip away on a vacation if you can. You're not into self-denial now, oh no. You want to have fun! Travel to another country or flirtations with people from other cultures will appeal. Startling changes in existing partnerships might take place. You might want more freedom or perhaps your partner demands more space? Meanwhile, home repairs continue to secure where you live.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You're focused on home, family and your domestic life this week and perhaps this year. Chaos and activity is taking place due to visiting relatives, renovations or an ambitious schedule of entertaining. But it will be fun. People will have a good time and you will feel richer and happier at home. Whatever transpires this week could lead to self-employment or favourably affect your ability to independently support yourself. Despite all this fun at home, you're serious in your thinking right now. In fact, very serious, because you are wondering about the stability of your long-term future. Whether you know it or not, you are setting out on a mission to reinvent yourself in the next seven years. Pack light.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Your communications with everyone are positive, dynamic, assertive and successful. You're coming on like gangbusters! This is a great week for those who sell, market, teach, act or write for a living because you will express yourself succinctly. But because you identify so strongly with your opinions, arguments with others are likely. Fortunately, your optimism is strong and you'll just roll with the punches and not make a big deal. You're inventive and creative right now (and will be for the rest of the year). However, your thoughts about finances and earning money are serious. You're doing a lot of planning, wheeling and dealing. (Facts are stubborn; statistics are much more pliable.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You're ambitious about money this week and this ambition will stay with you for the entire year. You identify with what you own. You feel that if you own more or earn more money, then you're successful. And many would agree with you. But, of course, you're not really your bankroll or your furniture or your property. (You're where you eat and what you drive.) Not! It appears that your excellent efforts at work are going to boost your income and probably work-related travel as well. This might also have a ripple effect, creating innovative changes where you live or even residential moves. It's all very exciting. This continues to be an extremely strong time for you. All hail!
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Although many signs have wonderful opportunities now, when I wrote my Annual Forecasts for 2013 I thought, "The Pisces have it." You begin this year with wonderful support from family and home. Your relations with family members, as well as your enjoyment of home, is deepening and becoming more enriched. Family members are more generous to each other and certainly more loving and upbeat. (You can't beat that!) This week you can make a great impression on bosses and VIPs. It's also a popular time for you, which is not surprising considering you are entering (later this year) one of the best years for romance and vacations. Hey, there's no time like the pleasant!
