All Signs
There's always a lot going on in the heavens, but in terms of a shift in focus - last week, I talked about the Sun moving into Taurus (even if I didn't say that) and this week, I want to discuss the influence of Uranus in Aries because Uranus has not been in Aries since its last journey in 1927-1932. This is major! Uranus will stay in Aries for seven more years until 2018. Not only is Uranus the planet connected with electronics, scientific discovery, computers plus earthquakes, volcanoes and dynamite and all unpredictable situations - it is also connected with reform, revolution and rebellion. These revolutions and reforms will take place in countries, in governments, in companies, in clubs and organizations, in families and also within the world of the individual. "I'm mad as hell and I'm not to take it anymore!" Many of us are going to be turning over a new leaf! (Fig leaves are the most fun.)
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Since Uranus is in Aries for the first time since 1932, this is virtually a "first" for most people. In a general way, you will feel its influence for the next seven years because it's in your sign. However, there will be a window of one or two years where it is very strong, and that is when it lines up by degree with your Aries Sun. Essentially, this Uranian influence will be a drive for freedom for you! You'll feel increasingly rebellious and independent. You will no longer put up with restrictions and confined situations that you might now be tolerating. Enuff awreddy! To sum it up: if you have been living according to your own wishes and desires, these changes will be minor. If you have been selling out and trying too hard to live up to everyone else's expectations - these changes will be major! "I'm outta here! Via con Dios"
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You are the one sign where the influence of Uranus will take place in a very subtle way, but of course, it will be there. Essentially, this planet is going to be slowly moving through the part of your chart that deals with your subconscious. It will wake up different areas that you have chosen to hide from yourself and others. This is why in the next few years, some of you will have revelations that surprise you. You might acknowledge aspects of yourself you were denying. In fact, secrets might come out. Nevertheless, the end result will be a greater clarification for you. Any kind of "shadow force" that has had its grip on you will be dispelled. You won't be hiding anymore - you'll be looking at all the aspects of yourself head-on. This will be liberating! And liberation is what Uranus is all about.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
The influence of Uranus in the next seven years for your sign (and it might even be a bit longer) will be all about friends and groups in your life. Primarily, it will manifest in one of two ways: it might bring you into contact with new and very different people. You might start hanging out with people or making friends with the kind of people you never hung out with before. This doesn't mean they have to be bizarre or unusual - but they might be. The second influence is that it might make you rebel or leave existing groups to which you now belong or identify with. You might find certain friends or groups to be confining, no longer relevant, or just not who you want to be with. Big yawn. "I have to blow this pop stand."
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
The life changes for your sign with this new journey of Uranus in Aries will be dramatic because its path is going to travel across the top of your chart. "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a golf ball! Oh no!" Traditionally, this heralds a radical change in your career or your profession because the top part of your chart is your public reputation and your life direction in general. But it's not surprising that Uranus is needed to make you do this because hey - you stay in the wrong relationships (including the wrong job) too long. (You know who you are.) You just can't leave! As I mentioned above, if you're happy with where you are, your changes will be minor. But if you're unhappy reporting to a nasty boss, or dealing with a parent or authority figure, or you're unhappy in your career - in the next seven years, this is when you will make your big leap! No question. Start packing your parachute.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
The next seven years will be a thrilling and exciting journey because Uranus is going to be in a Fire Sign, which is Aries. And as a Leo, you too, are a Fire Sign. So what we have going here is a very supportive situation, which is fiery and radical! The thing to remember is that Uranus wants reform. After all, it is the ruler of organizations like unions, Amnesty International or Greenpeace. (Like-minded people gathering together to make the world a better place.) You're going to want to stop bad habits, clean up your life, and be a better person! There's more. You will likely pursue new life belief systems, ideologies, and also spontaneously travel to explore more of the world. Your interest in science might be heightened, along with computers, electronics, aviation and space travel. "To infinity and beyond!"
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
For the next 7 to 10 years, Uranus will play havoc with partnerships and also with whatever you share with partners or other people, including inheritances, debt, mortgages, and responsibilities. Pretty major stuff. Uranus always wants to free you from restrictive, coercive, trapped situations. If this is how your relationships feel, then you will set up a series of events, or someone else will, that inadvertently "frees" you from the stifling relationship. Initially, you might even feel offended. But later, you'll admit to yourself "I feel freer!" Disputes about debt, taxes and inheritances are tricky in the next few years. Don't count on things to turn out as you might hope because Uranus is a loose cannon!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Like Virgo, Uranus is going to affect your partnerships and close friendships. Its influence in the next decade will be to free you from any hardship or relationship that is stifling, or where you feel trapped and caught in a never-ending tape loop. Marital breakups, partnership breakups, and even the end of friendships will take place. (Only if they are dead relationships already.) Uranus is always trying to free us from something. Open enemies might be in your face. Uranus will reveal them now. "You!" (Gasp) "I thought you were my friend!" Sometimes during this influence, people seek out a new lover. But this generally doesn't work. It's a fun exciting ride but short-lived - Willie singing "Live Fast Love Hard Die Young."
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
In a nutshell, all Scorpios are going to develop an entirely new attitude to their job in the next 7 to 10 years - whatever it takes. Many of you will become self-employed. Others will leave jobs where you are unhappy. The classic manifestation of this influence is that you are going to become much more tech savvy! Remember - Uranus rules science, computers and electronics. You might look for new challenges and except new responsibilities. Definitely, many of you will be on a new health kick as well. (Oh yeah.) You will drop bad habits and cultivate new approaches to exercise and nutrition. "I've decided to go on the Paleo Diet because I like wearing furs."
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Once again! Like Leo, you are another Fire Sign, and now Uranus is in Aries, the third Fire Sign. Let's have a party! In fact, this is exactly what might happen. The next decade is going to be supremely exciting for you. You'll want to explore new recreations and amusements. You will definitely discover exciting new places for vacations. Unusual love affairs with people who are "different" will probably take place. (Not if you're in a happy relationship.) But sudden infatuations are very likely! Surprise pregnancies or the introduction of children into your life are classic indications of this transit. In fact, children might surprise you in other ways. "Mom, I'm pregnant!" All creative ventures will be pumped with originality and out-of-the-box thinking. You will be soooo creative!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Wild, wacky Uranus is going to travel through the bottom part of your chart in the next 7 to 10 years. This influence will bring changes to your home, family and domestic scene. The most obvious being it will free you from an oppressive family situations. If you're unhappy at home or with certain family members - you will gracefully escape. (Or not so gracefully.) Another logical extension of this will be that you will have residential move. i.e. your home completely changes! Major changes within your family dynamic might also occur. Old ties could be broken and new ties forged. Hidden problems, secrets, or things that are denied will come out in the open. But the result will be that you'll feel a lot freer and more ready for life.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Sagittarius is not the only one looking at an exciting future - ditto for Aquarius! Essentially, your daily world is going to change radically. This means much more than just slapping up some new wallpaper. It really means that what you look at every day, who you talk to every day, where you walk every day, what you use everyday, and even how you think every day will undergo a radical change. (Like wow.) Your routine will change. Daily conversations with others will suddenly be hugely meaningful and profound. You will have original ideas. New relationships with siblings and neighbours might develop. Your life will be full of fresh, unexpected, exciting events! (Sounds like a Witness Protection program, doesn't it?)
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Wild, zany Uranus is going to change your financial scene. The most obvious way is that it/s going to throw you into a new line of work, a new job, new contacts, whatever so that you are earning money in a new way. Quite likely, the way you'll earn money will be more high-tech or dealing with groups or working for NCOs or charitable organizations. But at a deeper level, your major values are changing! Different things will become important. Other things that were important will be less so. If you feel weighed down by possessions - you'll let stuff go. Financially, you might have a sudden windfall - or - a sudden loss. You will definitely break free from a dead-end job. New opportunities will be plentiful!
