December was crazy because of Mercury retrograde occurring during the holidays. Silly errors, delays, mistakes, dumb purchases, cancellations, and over-the-top excess created a strain on our peace of mind. But now we're in a new year that looks refreshingly promising! Last week brought wonderful goodies and this week fiery Mars lines up with unpredictable Uranus and then dances with lucky moneybags Jupiter. There will be surprises in store for each of us. (I like money surprises, like finding a $20 bill in a pocket. Chocolate surprises are good, too. Of course, I prefer dark chocolate. Sex-change operations are unnerving, especially if it's your kid. Fortunately, you don't have to think up a new name this time -- they've got one.)
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This continues to be a fabulous time to promote your career and to bring some dazzle to your good name in your community or amongst your circle of friends. For starters, you have the ambition and the get up and go to do this. You're ready! In addition, unexpected opportunities will suddenly pop up this week. This is the perfect combination: being ready and waiting for an opportunity. Many of you will be surprised at your good fortune. The trick to remember is that your window of opportunity will be brief and you will have to make up your mind quickly and act fast. (This is generally not a problem for Aries.) Bosses, teachers and VIPs think you look great now. Sex is sweet. Money from others comes your way. (Oh my.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Sudden opportunities to travel or explore new areas will fall in your lap this week. An unexpected invitation to go somewhere might really appeal to you! You won't have time to ponder and consider any of this. So be ready to act fast. Similar opportunities related to further training and higher education are also at hand. Opportunities in publishing, the media and the PR world can benefit you as well. Medicine and the law are two areas that also will get a lovely boost. You often give things a sober second thought, but you might not have this luxury now. Keep your bags packed. Be the proverbial Boy Scout and "Be prepared!"
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is an exciting time for you because unpredictable events and circumstances are taking place with partners and people who are close to you. There seems to be a domino effect, which makes you come out smelling like a rose. This ripple effect will definitely benefit you. It could be in terms of money, goodies and tangible prizes. Or you might be invited to -- or swept up by -- exciting schedules. Inheritances, money back from the government, and the use of something that someone else owns are also sources that will benefit you. Meanwhile, your sex drive is amped. Totally. Fortunately, fair Venus opposite your sign promotes cozy relationships. (I guess!) Money, sex, good times -- what's the problem?
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Other people, partners and close friends will be doing or saying things this week that will surprise and benefit you. Stay on your toes because you will have to act fast. Someone might want more independence. Or they might say or do something that shocks you. Quite possibly you are the person who needs more space and freedom? Either way, little surprises are going to shake up your on-going status quo with partners and close friends. Most of these surprises will be positive. (A lover might propose, or suggest a surprise trip, or give you an unexpected gift.) Stay in a positive frame of mind. Expect the best because you just might get it. (The self-fulfilling prophecy.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Revolutionary situations seem to be taking place with respect to your health or, more specifically, what you're doing every day to stay healthy. You're experimenting in new ways. You're trying new things that will optimize your health. These approaches could be ancient or very modern but they're different and a bit unusual. Similarly, unexpected opportunities related to your job will suddenly appear. This could be a promotion, praise, kudos, a raise, or (dare we even dream) the corner office? Definitely the wealth of others or their assets or resources will benefit you now. Keep your pockets open!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This is a fabulous time for anyone involved in sports, the entertainment world, show business, or anything to do with the education and training of children. If you work with children or sports, unusual things will occur this week but most likely whatever it is will be good news. Nevertheless, this is also an accident-prone influence as well, so do be careful. (Specifically, the accidents would apply to your kids.) This same fiery, unpredictable influence this weekend can bring new love into your life. An affair that sweeps you off your feet! Surprise invitations for vacations, parties and fun events are also exciting and thrilling. Say yes! Dress sexy!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Exciting changes are going to take place at home, or where you live, or in your personal life. For example, you might buy something quite exotic for where you live or for a family member. Whatever it is, it will be something different, unusual or high-tech. (Not a book.) By the same token (actually the flipside), something unusual in your family dynamic might occur. Unexpected company might arrive. A relative might have surprising news. Things on the home front are definitely busy, constantly changing, on the go and probably involve repairs, renovations and dramatic improvements! (You love your beautiful home, as long as it stays that way.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
This is an unusually busy, almost frantic, week! It looks like you're trying to be all things to all people. And you probably are. Expect to meet new people. Expect surprises from daily contacts, relatives and siblings. Take extra precautions travelling, walking and jogging because this is an accident-prone week for your sign. Your enthusiasm about something will probably catapult you into a favourable situation where you promote your good name, or sell something, or write something, or you get a terrific deal. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

All kinds of wonderful opportunities for business, commerce, making money, dreaming up money-making schemes, boosting your earnings or making money on the side exist for you this week. You can feel it in your bones. Unusual opportunities related to your finances will definitely come your way. Could be big. Similarly, unexpected opportunities to spend money and buy something exciting and probably over-the-top also exist. It looks like you're throwing your money all over the place. But then, you always do things in a big way. For once, don't hold yourself back. This is the time to think big!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You're full of enormous energy and gusto this week! Life is taking on an exciting flavour. Some of you are travelling, others are exploring surprise opportunities, and yet others feel unusually successful now because you know that you shine in whatever you're doing. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
These are unsettling times for you. It's almost as if things are happening too fast, or they're coming in from too many different directions all at once. Some people around you might be having obvious, even dramatic, surprising events occur in their lives. But for many Aquarians, whatever is happening is actually taking place internally and quite hidden from others. (Check your left armpit.) But the good news is that much of what is causing you to be restless (and hopefully, enthusiastic) is something that is unexpected but delightfully so! You're pleased and thrilled! Secret good news! It's kind of like you're having a party in your head but you can't invite any people because that would be telling.
