All Signs
Get ready to encounter a powerful New Moon on Thursday (its influence lasts for several days). It takes place in Taurus, right when Mercury is cooling its winged heels, frozen at the same degree for six days (like it did when the Icelandic volcano grounded all those planes). Oops. But this time, Mercury is about to go forward. Meanwhile, this New Moon is a gift because each New Moon is an opportunity to improve different areas of our lives (according to what sign we are). Maybe we can fine tune things for the better? It's just a mental focus. Einstein said, "Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
The New Moon this week focuses on your money scene, your cash flow, and how you earn your money, plus your relationship to your possessions. Since each New Moon is your chance to tweak your attitude, or change your approach to things -- you might want to ask yourself "what is my attitude to money?" If you think money is the root of all evil, you probably won't have it for long. If you think money is tough to get, it will be tough to get! Examine your attitude about money because your attitude affects the way things manifest in your life. And what about all the stuff you own? Do you own it or does it own you? Who's in charge here, anyway?
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Whoa Nellie! There's so much happening! For starters, Mercury has been retrograde in your sign bringing all kinds of people from the past back into your life again. It has also caused havoc with lost papers, confused communications, delays, missed appointments, and frazzled frustrations. Nevertheless, this is the only New Moon all about you for the entire year! It's your chance to tweak your image, and improve your relationships with partnerships and close friends. Take a look in the mirror. What do you see? How can you improve the first impression you offer to the world? (Lose the spandex.)
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
At this very moment, three planets are hiding in the most secret part of your chart. Nothing subversive or illegal is involved, but it is a bit sneaky, that's for sure. (Sometimes, sneaky is fun.) You've been up to some secret plans, or something very private because you're playing your cards very close to your big sexy chest. (Even I can't see what you're holding.) But I do see this particular New Moon is an excellent time for you to think about whatever you do that is self-defeating. Be honest. How do undermine yourself? Where do you really shoot yourself in the foot? (Maybe if you aim higher, this wouldn't happen.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This New Moon is the best New Moon all year to think about your long-range goals. In this respect, you have it all over the other 11 signs. Why? Because this New Moon is in the part of your chart that emphasizes defining your hopes and dreams for the future. It's funny because the main thing about goal setting is simply setting goals. Most of us meander through life in a wishy-washy way, refusing to be specific about what we want. We are especially nonspecific about the time frame. Ask yourself, very specifically, what do you want to achieve, and when? (What have you got to lose? You might be surprised at how thought-provoking this exercise can be
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Holy Batman! Mercury, the Sun, and the New Moon are all at the highest point in your chart. Certainly, a lot of other people are aware of you right now, and they're aware of what you're up to! You're out there flying your colours. ("Hoist the freak flag!") The top of your chart is like the pointy end of a boat, it's where you're headed. This New Moon is the perfect time for you to think about your life direction in general. For starters, what have you accomplished in the last few years? Is there a new direction you want to take in the future? If you know where you're headed, you will be able to make more intelligent decisions on a daily basis. For starters, you can learn how to distinguish prow from stern, and port from sherry.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This is the perfect week for you to give a lot of thought to your education. Is there any kind of further education or training that you could get that would enhance your life or improve your career? What about learning a new language? In the same way, do you have any travel plans? Essentially, this New Moon is probably your best opportunity all year to give some serious thought about how to expand your horizons, and your experience of life, specifically by learning more through travel or education. There you have it. Of course, you might also learn more by meeting people from other cultures and different lands. Maybe they'll even cook for you. Yummy!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
There is a heavy emphasis in your chart right this week (including the New Moon) about shared property, and the wealth and resources of others. Since this emphasis is on shared property, it also includes debt. This is the perfect time to assess what you owe to others, especially credit card debt and personal loans, and get a realistic picture of what your assets and liabilities really are. Then, you should sit down and have a good stiff drink. (Don't worry, the truth of your situation will sober you up.) But information is power! Figure out what you owe to the government, to your creditors, and to your in-laws.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You're fixated on partnerships and friendships because the New Moon, the Sun, and Mercury are all directly opposite your sign. (You can run but you can't hide.) Naturally, this means this week is the best week of the entire year for you to think about partnerships. For starters, what are your beliefs about partnerships? We tend to attract the people to us who affirm our core beliefs. If you think you only attract takers, or losers, that's what you'll get. What do you think people want from you? Observe how your values and behavior attracts the friends and partners you have in your life. Richard Bach said: "Argue for your limitations and they're yours."
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
The New Moon this week is the best time all year to take a serious look at your health, and what you can do to improve your health, and be healthier! Most of you get a lot of outdoor exercise, however, a lot of you also party hard! The other area that this same New Moon also emphasizes is your work, your job, and your employment scene. What can you do to introduce some improvements, or make your work a happier experience? Focus on some things about these two areas in your mind. Have a little talk with yourself. Make some resolutions that will introduce some benefits into your life. Why not? This isn't a dress rehearsal, it's the real deal.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This New Moon urges you to think about how much you exercise your creativity. For example, all children enjoy drawing pictures, or making things with their hands, whether they are budding artists or not. The art of creating something is a process, and it is the process that is exciting, rejuvenating, exhilarating, and satisfying. If the product is great - wonderful. But even if you throw away the product, you still had the experience. This matters! That's because we are verbs not nouns. Recognize your need to play, create, and have fun! You also have the need to flirt, and have a little romance! Think about it.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This is the only New Moon all year that occurs in the part of your chart that relates to home, family, parents, relatives, and domestic matters. That's why your focus is now very much on your personal life, and your relationships with family members, especially parents. Of course, you also have a relationship to where you live. (Maybe you're not on speaking terms with your kitchen?) Be specific in your mind about what you can do to improve your relationships with parents and family members. Be equally as specific about what you can do to improve your home, and where you live. You can only benefit from this. We all have to live somewhere. Why not make it the best it can be?
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Your ability to communicate to others on a daily basis, especially to siblings, is where it's at this week because of this particular New Moon. Your style of communicating to others either attracts people into your life in a more meaningful way, or it rebuffs them, and keeps them at a distance. This is why your communicating style is so important. Some people are very good about staying in touch and watering their trap line - others don't bother. If you wonder if it makes a difference, just think of how you feel when someone goes out of their way to communicate to you, We all love strokes from others. Friendship is the bread of life (but money is the honey).
