All Signs
Last month, Saturn went into Libra. The last time it was in Libra was from Oct. 1980 to Dec. 1982. This heralds a change for all of us. Later in 2010, Uranus moves momentarily into Aries (from June to Sept.) which is the first time Uranus has been in Aries since the early 1930s. Hmmm, the Dirty Thirties. That does ring an ominous, economic bell. This week's column and next week will touch on some of these changes. When it comes to change, I like G.K. Chesterton's take, "Don't ever take a fence down until you know the reason why it was put up."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Saturn is opposite your sign for the first time since the early 80s. This means you're getting ready to make your debut. You're stepping on out! From here on, you'll be more concerned with your external world, your career, and your reputation. However, this opposition can make you feel physically tired, and world weary. One of the burdens you'll face at this time is challenges in partnerships. Nevertheless, this is a kind of basic training because you're marshaling your forces to go forth and express yourself more powerfully than ever before! This time of testing is will prepare you to work toward your career peak around 2018-20. HUT two, three, four!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You are now entering a three year phase that involves hard work, focus, and perseverance. In fact, you'll be working so hard you might feel overwhelmed at times. Don't worry, you can handle this. Just accept that this is what is happening. You actually want to put everything in order. You want to tie up loose ends. You don't want to scatter or waste your energy. You're going to become manic about becoming efficient, effective, and as productive as possible! In 2010, all kinds of opportunities will suddenly be available to you, and this spurs you on in an enthusiastic way. Use this to your advantage. You can get a lot done!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
For many, children will become an increased responsibility in the next few years. This could be due to new children in the family or a change in your family dynamic. You're certainly more aware than usual of your responsibilities to children during this time. Privately, you're starting to think about what you really want to do for the rest of your life. What do you want to be when you grow up? Many of you will turn a hobby into a vocation. Travel, publishing, higher education, medicine, and the law will hold many opportunities in 2010. Meanwhile, you're passionate about practically everything in your life. Nothing is casual. (A little different for playful Gemini.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Not sincerely 80s, have you given so much thought to home, family, and your domestic scene. You want to secure your home base. You want a solid anchor in the world that you can trust to be your refuge from the vicissitudes of life. You're a nester. You need to know that there's a safe place where you can curl up into a fetal position and suck your thumb. "I'm safe!" Since 2003, you've been wrestling with who you are, and how you want others to see you. Recently, job changes and residential moves have been unsettling. That's why you're going to do everything in your power in the next few years to make a home that gives you a warm feeling in your tummy.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
All Leos are looking at a time of flux and change in the next few years. For many, this has already begun. Some will change jobs, others will be change residences, many will do both. If the changes you experience are not tangibly physical, then they'll occur in your attitudes, and your style of relating to everyone around you. With the Mars in your sign, many of you are amazed at your aggression, or assertiveness, or your big mouth. "Did I say that?" It's soberng! Whatever occurs in the next few years will force you to be much more aware of how you communicate to others. You will hone and refine your way of thinking, listening, and speaking. Some of you might even be plunged into living with a foreign language.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
There's no question your life is going to get easier. When Saturn visits your sign (which it does every 29 years) and it stays for several years, it's a sober, learning experience! Something occurs (often related to legalities or the law courts) that increases your responsibilities, and your sense of daily burden. Now that Saturn has left your sign, you feel so much lighter! It's almost as if something has been lifted from your shoulders! "I'm free!" You feel playful and ready for fun. It's easy to enjoy the antics of playing with children. New romance will flourish. You have much to look forward to!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Since 1996, you've created certain structures in your life -- where you live, where you work, and who you hang out with. Now you will start to dismantle some of these, including relationships, habits, and patterns because they're no longer relevant in your life. You're changing. Now that Saturn has entered your sign for the first-time since the early 80s, you're starting off on the new 30 year cycle, which among other things, includes reinventing yourself. Ye gads! We all do this about twice in our lives. Meanwhile, the placement of other planets is wonderfully supportive now. Playful opportunities for romance and socializing, plus warm feelings at home with family provide the haven you need. (Sigh.) In fact, you want to redecorate!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Mars is rousing your ambition! You're beginning 2010 with gusto and enthusiasm. And your'e busy. Short trips, errands, plus much to-ing and fro-ing keep you on the run. However, this is also an enriching time at home and within your family. In fact, it's so enriching, this continues to be a favourable time for real estate speculation. Nevertheless, while all these good things are happening, you're quietly starting to feel restless. Your desire to purge things from your life is growing. You want to get rid of what you no longer need. Excess or just plain garbage. Be gone! Soon you'll be going through closets, garages, cupboards, and storage spaces turfing what you no longer want to schelp around. Bombs awaaay!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This continues to be a time of significant achievement. In the last few years, you now see what you're capable of. Without a doubt. Where you planted well -- you got results. (And you also saw where you cut corners, things didn't work out as well.) It's a learning experience. In the next few years, you will learn how to juggle working with others more skillfully. You need to know how to be part of a group, and yet at the same time, maintain your own individuality and integrity. You don't want to sell out because freedom is a survival issue for you. Oh well, generally, what's good for the swarm is good for the bee.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
With four planets in your sign, this continues to be all about you. Such energy swirling all around you! For years, you've been waiting for success or recognition or a sense of having arrived. That time is at hand! In the next few years, you will definitely get the recognition you deserve for work you've been doing since 1996. This doesn't mean you can kick back and relax. Au contraire! You have lots of responsibilities. But at least, you'll get the accolades, and acknowledgment you want for your efforts. You can boost your good name, and create a wonderful reputation (both professionally and personally) during the next few years. It's all at hand! Make the most of this.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
For various different reasons, your idealism, and compassion, and genuine concern for others is strongly heightened right now. It feels good to be alive! You are a sign that wants to make a difference in the lives of others. And now you see that you can. The only dark cloud on your horizon is that Mars continues to be opposite your sign, which means you find others to be annoying. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Well, you're certainly gearing up for one of the best years of your life -- no question! Throughout 2010, your happiness quotient will definitely increase. This month you feel popular. You're enjoying the company of friends and groups. (In fact, a friend might become a lover.) Nevertheless, all is not pixie dust. (Life never is.) Expect to face some challenges and possible disputes about shared property or anything that you hold jointly with someone else. You'll handle this because you start this year off working really hard. You're very keen to get organized. You can sense that so much is going on this year, and so many goodies and opportunties are coming your way -- you have to be on top of your scene.
