All Signs
Since we're in the throes of Mercury retrograde, it's important to realize Mercury retrograde is not all bad. Admittedly, it causes confused communications. It makes events, people and things late. And yes, it brings transportation breakdowns; and makes us forget where we put things. ("Am I losing it?") And then there's all those people from our past back into our lives again. However, because its retrograde motion actually encourages the act of going "backwards" -- it makes research easier and more productive. The study of history, genealogy, and anything to do with ancestors and old business will be rewarding. It's a good time to finish things. ("Stick a fork in me, Lord; I'm done!")
Aries (March 21-April 19)
You feel wonderfully alive with fair Venus and fiery Mars in your sign. Because you like what you see in the mirror, this is the time to shop for wardrobe goodies. You're assertive, confident and sexier! (Actually, you're a lot for others to handle right now, but, so what? Your philosophy is, "if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen"). Look for old ways to boost your income. Something you explored in the past might open up again and be a chance for you to get a job or discover a new source of money. This might also be the time to buy something you've wanted for a long time. Please note: The month of May is a poor time to buy cars, computers and phones.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Although Mercury actually goes retrograde in Gemini, it quickly slips back into Taurus and stays there until mid-June. This means ex-partners are on the scene. ("Edward? Is that you? You shaved your head!") Running into ex-partners and ex-lovers is a mixed bag. Obviously, there is some reason that they are now out of your life. Perhaps this will be an opportunity for closure? Alternatively, it might be your chance to finally tell someone what you really think. Many of you are dabbling in secret love affairs right now. (Something is definitely going on behind the scenes.) But you like to be discreet. This is also a good time to finish old business and wrap up whatever's on your plate.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Mercury goes retrograde in your sign then slips back into Taurus. This means this is a wonderful time for you to do research! Dig deep to find answers to old problems because you'll be successful. In fact, it's a good time for any kind of study. You're also making some secret plans. (You like to hedge your bets because you always want to have a fast exit.) Choices are important you. You know that happiness is having alternatives. That's why, if possible, you'll have two homes, two cars and yes, two loves as well. Having said that, the great irony is that you are also one of the most loyal signs in the zodiac! Go figure.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Old friends and contacts from the past are back in your face again. In many ways, this is wonderful because it's good to have history with people. Fiery Mars at the top of your chart arouses your ambition. That's also fine because fair Venus is paving the way for you to charm bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs. What's interesting to note is your encounters with people from your past will cause you to change or tweak some of your long-term dreams for the future. Why not? As life changes around you, so do your wants and needs, along with your hopes and dreams. Stay light on your feet because job and residential changes are still around you.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This is an exciting time. People from the past are popping up out of the woodwork! (This is fun because your friends adore you.) Many of you will be involved with parents, bosses and VIPs again. You might rehash old business or put a new spin on old ideas, especially plans for your life direction. Both Venus and Mars encourage travel, the exploration of new ideas, and profits from publishing, the media, medicine and the law. These are all areas that are flowing very well right now. Meanwhile, finish old business! This is not the time to begin something new. Au contraire! It's the perfect time to finish what you've already started. (Yup, without the last minute, nothing would ever get done.)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
You are suffering from delays and setbacks with higher education, publishing, the media, and travel or dealing with foreign countries. Aaagghh! Even matters with the law and medicine are cancelled or postponed. What gives? It's Mercury retrograde. The good news is you can more easily finish what you need to get done in these same areas: education, publishing, medicine and the law. Therefore, use this to your advantage. Hustle thy buns! When Mercury is retrograde, it's easier to research the past or finish old business. Meanwhile, back in the boudoir, you're sexually turned-on! Woo-woo! Intimacy can be a vehicle for self-transformation and inner change. (Be still my beating heart.) You also attract money! (Sex and money -- hmmm.)
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This is a useful Mercury retrograde because it occurs in the part of your chart that is all about red-tape matters. Finish as much as you can with loose details about wills, inheritances, taxes, debt and anything to do with shared property. It's so easy to put this stuff off. Boring forms! But now, you'll find it easy to expedite these little horror stories. Partnerships and close friendships are cozy with Venus opposing you. Lots of heartfelt, confidential exchanges, plus fun and laughter. However, fiery Mars is also opposing you. Therefore, these good times are interspersed with moments of haughty annoyance with loved ones. (Have they no couth?)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Ex-partners, old friends and past lovers are back in your life again. This is a guarantee. Of course, how you handle this is your choice. If you are calm and gracious, you'll have nothing to regret later. If you lose it and blow your cool, you might end up with egg on your face. (Ketchup helps.) What's it going to be? Remember: Anger serves no purpose other than to make everyone around you miserable, including you. Therefore, for your own peace of mind and happiness, take the high road. Fortunately, you're working hard and this is a nice distraction. Co-workers are supportive. Some of you will get a raise or praise. (We like!)
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This is an exasperating Mercury retrograde because it hits you in your job and where you work. (Take the harpoon out slooowly.) You're suffering from stupid, silly mistakes, lost papers, mixed-up conversations, confused messages, staff shortages, minor breakages, equipment failure, cancelled appointments and transportation snafus like flat tires and engines that don't start. Eeeeek! It feels like life is a cruel hoax. Fortunately, these bummer little situations are minor. You can handle this! The good news is that sports, love affairs, romance, vacations, parties, playful times with children and fun getaways are wonderfully promising! Yes! (Take the bad with the good.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Old flames are back on the scene. Sometimes this is exciting; but sometimes it's quite horrible. Invariably, you catch yourself mumbling, "What was I thinking?" (We've all made romantic mistakes in our past. But we prefer to forget them! Not introduce them to our current friends.) Dress sharp. Living well is the best revenge. Renovations at home create chaos and confusion. However, whatever you do will enhance where you live by making things more beautiful and comfortable. This matters to you. You like to have a home you're proud of, because the respect of your peers is important. Since many of you can earn more money now, now is the time to swing a redecorating project.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
It's old home week! Most of you are dealing with relatives you haven't seen for a while. Many of you have these same relatives camped on your doorstep, sleeping on your sofa and eating out of your fridge. Just grin and bear it. Whatchyagonnado? Past real-estate deals might suddenly be resurrected. Now is the time to sell a place that has been on the market for too long. This is also an excellent month to do repairs at home. Because your communication skills are so hot now, actors, teachers and anyone in sales and marketing will shine! You're wonderfully persuasive and charming. Expect to talk to siblings more than usual this month as well.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Some Mercury retrogrades are more difficult than others, and this is one of them. (Gulp.)You are really suffering from communication mix-ups this week and this month. Pay your phone bill. Keep your cell phone charged. Allow extra time for everything. Appointments will be cancelled or delayed. You'll be caught in traffic or stopped cold because of car problems, missed busses and other difficulties in getting around. Expect to run into old contacts and people from your past as well. Take a deep breath. You can cope with all this! The good news is your money scene is picking up! Earnings look good; in fact, so good, you're out there spending your dough! Oh joy!
