Busy calendar! It's Leap Year, and this week it's the vernal equinox. (When the Sun crosses the equator to come North for the Summer.) Things will get colder in Kangaroo land, and warmer up here for the hockey playoffs. Of course, it's the 23° tilt of the Earth that makes the difference. Because of that tilt, we either get the Sun right in our face, or slanting through the atmosphere at a longer angle (brrrr.) But now we'll get the rays of the Sun more directly - oh happy day and where is my sun block? "Spring is sprung, da grass is riz -- I wonder where da boidies is? Da little boid is on da wing. Ain't dat absoid? Da little wing is on da boid!" Incidentally, 'equinox' means 'equal night' which is also the shortened reply when asked, "How was it for you?" "Pretty good, all things being equal."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Finally, it's that time again - your birthday! Because the Sun is back in your sign for the first time in 11 months, the next 4-5 weeks are your turn to recharge your batteries for the rest of the year. Do whatever you can to replenish, regenerate and restore yourself. Increased activity on the home front (renovations, redecorating, residential moves and/or extra company on the sofa) could create tension where you live. Just remember: the antidote to anger is patience. With lucky Jupiter high in your chart for the rest of the year, (this is a once in 12 year thing) you can put your name up in lights. Literally! Suddenly important people notice you! Use this to your advantage. Go for the brass ring!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Since your birthday is about a month away, now is the time to pull in a little and do some quiet thinking. It's time to line your ducks up in a row. What do you want your new year to bring? You can either let life happen to you - and you just respond and react and manage by crisis. Or you can decide to take the helm and steer your course. If this is the case, you have to know what you want to steer for - right? Think of three things you would like to see happen in your life this year. Write them down. Think about them. Imagine them. Focus on a plan of attack. It's amazing how we manifest the very things we think about. In fact, it's spooky!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Get ready for a popular month ahead. Because everyone wants to see your face, your dance card will be full! Don't sit at home - get out and hustle thy buns. Join clubs, classes, groups and organizations. Make time for friends. In particular, think about your long term goals and dreams for the future. Other are prepared to help you this year either indirectly with opportunities and tips - or directly with gifts of cash, benefits and goodies. This means the universe is going to support your endeavours. Talk about your hopes, dreams and goals with others. Let them know what you want to do. Do not underestimate how much others can help you now. ("Spare change?")
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You really come to life at this time of year because the Sun is now at high noon in your chart. Since this has the effect of acting like a spotlight on you, you're suddenly in the limelight! Bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs notice you. But more than that - they all think you're fabulous! (Do nothing to alter this perception.) Instead, milk it for all it's worth. When others ask you to accept increased responsibilities for something, say 'yes'. You'll be able to do the job and impress everyone without doing anything special. (Go figure.) Trust me. When you're hot, you're hot! (And when you're not, you're not.) Yeah, yeah.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You're going to love the next 6 weeks. Why? For starters, the Sun will be in your fellow Fire Sign (Aries) and this makes you feel energized and optimistic. Easy road ahead. Furthermore, it's placement for Leo, spurs your enthusiasm to travel and explore new things and different places. Not only do you want to experience adventure and explore new spaces, you also want to explore ideas, philosophies and religions, through different people and cultures. Meanwhile, sex is cozy and affectionate. (Always a fun bonus.) And your job scene continues to improve. Pull back on the spending if you can. And be discreet about secret love affairs. (Naughty you.)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
You're starting to get very intense about life. And you'll continue to do this for the next 6 weeks. You don't want Band-Aid solutions or surface explanations -- you want the truth, the facts and the nitty-gritty bottom line. "Don't mess with the kid!" Both Mercury and Venus directly opposite your sign will help you get this. Discussions will be important. Mars continues to encourage group activities, especially physical sports and active, rah rah stuff. You also want to clearly define and clear up details about insurance matters, wills, inheritances, taxes, and debt. Great! You couldn't pick a better month to do this. Roll up your sleeves and clear away as much of this stuff as you can.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This is the only time all year when the Sun is directly opposite your sign. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn more about yourself through your one to one relationships, partnerships and closest friendships. It's a good time to form working units. It's a good time to discover just what makes a successful partnership. Obviously, for your own good, you must be as good for your partner as he or she is for you. Since you can learn a lot about relating to others, this will also apply to your relationships with people you consult -- lawyers, counselors, astrologers and doctors. (Perhaps even a 24 hour taxidermist.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You're definitely in work mode this month. You're determined to get better organized and on top of things. You want your life to run more efficiently, more effectively, and not only that, you want to improve your health as well. (Wow.) You want it all! And why not? Why settle for less? Since you're going to go to extraordinary efforts to get better organized, at least do yourself a favour and get the right kind of tools and supplies so that you can do a bang up job. That's something they will make all the difference. Quite likely, you'll have to fulfill the wishes of others in this month. Just do it. Don't fight this.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
What a wonderful, fun-loving, pleasure filled month ahead! Romance, love affairs, parties and fun occasions are beautifully blessed. You want to have fun and so you shall. Those of you involved in the arts or in sports will particularly excel. Naturally, you'll have to continue working (most of you) nevertheless, your primary thrust this month is all about amusement and recreation. Relationships are lighter and somewhat prankish. Activities with children are rewarding. It's totally appropriate to put pleasure and romance at the top of your list. Put yourself first and enjoy! Kiss, kiss, hug, hug.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Relations with others, especially siblings are very warm and friendly during the next month. Your primary focus is on home, family and domestic matters. However, despite your inclination to schmooze and work a crowd, you also need more time alone for some private contemplation. You have a lot to think about now; in part, because childhood memories are at hand, as well as important family discussions. Mars opposite your sign can create tension with partners and close friends. Tread carefully. It's not easy to keep your shirt on while you're trying to get something off your chest. Ya know?
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
You're busy working hard at many things this month. What a juggler! You're talking to everyone, taking short trips, spending increased time with siblings and relatives, plus wheeling and dealing, buying and selling and reading, writing and studying with unusual fervor. (Gasp.) The days will race by as your pace accelerates. Don't fight this. Just go with the flow. This is not the time to stay at home. Get out and keep moving! Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
