All Signs
Some Mercury retrogrades are worse than others. Why? Because each Mercury retrograde is in a different sign at a different degree and these details will impact your chart harshly or not. It all depends on the combo between you and the particular Mercury retrograde. This Mercury retrograde is 180° opposite the Mercury in my chart. So far I've had 2 flat tires, 2 missed hair appointments, and 4 missed ferries. I had to buy 4 new tires, and also (in another city) get work done on the car all of which totaled about $2500. I sent last week's weekly column to my daily newspapers which meant two cities had to go to press without it. I'm on such an intimate relationship with my Internet technical support people, we're planning to get together next Thanksgiving. (Two are flying in from the Philippines.) There's more, but some stuff even I blush to confess. Stick a fork in me Lord -- I'm done!
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This continues to be a very popular time for you. Everyone wants to see your face. (Especially old friends and people you haven't seen for awhile.) With both Venus and Jupiter at the top of your chart, bosses, parents, teachers and powerful people think you're the cat's meow. This is wonderful! Continue to milk this for all it's worth. Remember, this is the year you can really make a name for yourself! All kinds of opportunities and help from important people will continue to come your way. All you have to do is keep working hard. (You like a challenge.) "When the going gets tough, the tough get going," had to be coined by an Aries.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You still have the wanderlust. And if you can't travel, you're interested in things happening in other countries. However, if you can travel at this time (and this applies to the rest of the year as well) you'll adore it! Right now it's a mixed bag because with the Sun at high noon in your chart, people notice you. You're in the limelight! But Mercury retrograde is also taking place at high noon in your chart, which means everyone can see you dropping the ball! "Hey dufus!" (The ignominy of it all.) This is a great time to sign up for a course or learn a new language or explore any exotic learning experience.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You're restless. You have cabin fever. You want to travel, or learn something new, or have some adventure. You've had it with routine and boring people. Unfortunately, delays related to travel, publishing, higher education, the media, medicine and law are a drag. Since Mercury is your ruler, of course you feel this Mercury retrograde! (Lost books and papers, misplaced keys, delays, missed appointments and confused conversations.) But the upside is other planets are bringing goodies your way! People are generous to you. You might inherit, or receive gifts, or easily get a loan. Intimate relationships are sexy, sweet and very affectionate. (Gosh, golly, gee.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Many of you are dealing with familiar issues related to insurance matters, inheritances, wills, mortgages, loans and anything to do with shared property. There's a lot of loose ends that need to be cleared up. Some of it is stuff that you thought was going to go away by itself. No such luck! Fortunately, with both Jupiter and Venus opposite your sign, most of you are enjoying partnerships and close friendships. However, for those who were born July 21 - 26, serious power struggles with others might take place. It's a pretty major because for the first time in your life, Pluto is sitting right opposite your sign. "Hi Darth."
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This is a low-energy time. You're physically tired; you need more sleep. That's because the Sun (giver of energy) is as far away from you as it gets all year. It's also a harrowing time for many of you because Mercury is opposite your sign. And for those of you who also have Mercury in Leo, this current Mercury retrograde is opposing your own Mercury. Ha! How many flat tires did you get? It's a good thing you can read this column in the newspaper because if you're relying on the Internet - you might be out of luck. Things are going well however. Relations with coworkers are cozy. You can definitely look forward to your job improving later this year. (That's nice.)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Busy you! You're still running around with an outboard motor on your ass. You're trying to do everything, finish everything, build everything, issue everything, write everything, package everything, review everything, test everything, redo everything and find everything. Does that cover everything? Fortunately, you're also rewarding yourself with fun times, romance, love affairs, movies, the theatre, sports and playful times with children. You're not a glutton for punishment. Well, you are, but you're rewarding yourself for the experience. And so you should! Despite whatever obstacles life throws in your path at the moment, keep at it. Mars high in your chart pushes your ambition. Go, go, go!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Are old flames back in your life? Or maybe you haven't noticed because they never left. (You like to stay in touch.) This is a very romantic time for you. You want to have fun! Accept invitations to go out. Make an effort to buy tickets to something that's different and stimulating. Enjoy comedy, the theatre, sports, movies and romantic flirtations. Get out and play! Fortunately, fair Venus and lucky Jupiter encourage entertaining at home, as well as redecorating and buying beautiful things for where you live. Not only can you invite friends over, you can show your place off! And better yet, be motivated to clean it. (If you put out fresh flowers you don't have to dust.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You're extremely busy with home, family and domestic matters right now. Family situations demand a lot of your time. Relatives are back on the scene. In fact, people who haven't heard from for ages are suddenly coming for dinner or sleeping on the sofa. Your schmooze factor is high. You're talking to everyone and they love to see you. Privately, your gonads are in overdrive. Sex is passionate and memorable or, passionate and forgettable. (You never lack for passion.) Show kindness to a family member right now if you can. Someone needs your help.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This is a tough Mercury retrograde! Minor accidents, communication cutoffs due to unpaid bills or dead zones or lost cell phones, and frustrations from missed appointments, confused communications, last papers and books, and transportation problems will get you. Does any of this ring a bell, Pavlov? Fortunately, your money scene is looking good. And if it isn't looking good now, it will be later in the year. Continue to dream up new ways of boosting your income. Be patient with partners because relationships are testy. Testy? We failed! Mars is opposite your sign for the rest of the month, which means it might be a rocky Valentines. Do something to show you care (and avoid a fight.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Even though you're working very hard now, it's sort of two steps forward and one step backward. But it will improve very soon! Most of you are very focused on money, earnings, cash flow and expenditures. Many of you are also tweaking, improving and restoring or replacing certain possessions. Past opportunities for jobs or ways to earn money could arise again. If so, give these serious consideration. While fair Venus and Jupiter are in your sign, you'll find it easy to relate to others. Diplomacy and charm come naturally. You have poise, self-confidence and professionalism in everything you do right now. (Wow! I hope you got that on sale!)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
It's a bit of a crapshoot right now with the Sun in your sign, you're empowered! As it lines up with Neptune, it makes you particularly psychic, tuned in, and sensitive to the needs and wants of others. You're the man behind the curtain! This strengthens you as well as makes you very kind and sympathetic to others. However, Mercury retrograde is taking place in your sign as well! This is bound to bring partners and friends from the past back into the picture. But in the main, you'll be able to work and get a lot done, especially stuff that needs to be finished. You won't be suffering as much as the Leos who have Mercury opposing them. Don't be smug. Just get to work.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
This is a confusing time for many of you. Your popularity rating is strong. You'll easily enjoy good times with friends in any kind of group situation -- conferences, conventions, meetings, whatever. However, three planets (including retrograde Mercury) are in a rather hidden part of your chart. This makes you feel powerless and somewhat adrift. You're not sure you can count on things. You're afraid to be blindsided by something unexpected. In fact, you're a little nervous. Don't worry about this because it's al going to pass very soon. (Especially if you drink a lot of water.) Ironically, things will go from kinda shaky to excellent! Wait until the 19th of the month.
