All Signs
Mercury is retrograde from June 15 - July 9. Expect confusion, transportation problems, delays, mixed up communications and silly errors. This is a poor time to buy cars, trucks, bikes, phones, computers etc.; but excellent to finish old business or research the past. In fact, people from the past reappear! But there's more: Imagine walking down Georgia St. and at Seymour, deciding to go back 10 blocks. Let's make that five blocks. (To me, outdoors is where the car is.) When you finally stop and start going forward again, you're still five blocks away from you first turned around. Capice? In other words, you're going forward, but you're covering old ground until you reach Seymour again. Therefore, this fuzziness actually begins when Mercury slows down (June 5th) and is not truly over until July 24th. Yup. Murky retrograde.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
The next month is all about family and your domestic world. Expect family reunions (and relatives snoring on the sofa.) This is a good time to tackle those home repairs you've been postponing. It's also a good time to do genealogical research into your family tree. Don't beat yourself up if you break little things or misplace items like keys, books, receipts and paperwork. That's par for the course for the month ahead. However, it's actually a good time to entertain. (This silliness doesn't mean you can't have a great time!) But count on unexpected guests and shortages of food and beverages. Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we diet!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
In the next six weeks, your sign will really feel this particular Mercury retrograde. Why? Because it occurs in the part of your chart where Mercury lives. Transportation problems and delays and misunderstandings in communication, (especially with siblings and relatives) will be rather colossal. Pay your phone bill. Remember to recharge your cell. Not being able to communicate is classic for Mercury retrograde. Try to anticipate car problems. Expect delays in public transportation. Cheques in the mail will be late. And many of you will be involved in old business with siblings and relatives. "This again? I thought we flogged this to death the last time!" Oy vey.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Because Mercury is your ruler, you feel the Mercury retrograde. This particular one hits you in the pocketbook. This could be good; this could be bad. Make friends with your bank account. Stay on top of your cash flow. Pay your bills. Goofy slipups could be aggravating. ("What do you mean I have no money? I still have cheques left!") The up side is that previous ways of earning money which you refused or ignored might come back to you again. This gives you a second chance to boost your income. Or you might decide to buy something you've been thinking about for awhile. In other words, themes from the past impact your cash flow now. (Oh well, despite the cost of living, it's still popular.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Mercury is going retrograde in your sign. This last happened briefly in July 2006; and in July 2000. Your sign, more than any other, is concerned with the past. That's why you're sentimental and always taking photos. You want to 'keep' it all with you. ("This was my grandfather's pith helmet. He constantly made pithy remarks.") You can expect car problems, lost items, mixed up communications, detours, forgetfulness, misunderstandings, and of course - people from the past -- especially ex partners -- in your face again. This week, someone powerful might help you boost your income or encourage you to help someone who needs assistance. (What goes around, comes around.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This particular Mercury retrograde is occurring in an obscure part of your chart. Old matters related to the government and large institutions could demand your attention. But you might also have moments of deją vu. Your mind is spinning backwards thinking about old stuff. (Or you might have Dijon vu - where the smell of hot dogs takes you back to childhood baseball games.) This week you're extra keen about travel, publishing, the media and education. You want to share beautiful experiences or explore the arts and new territory with a partner or close friend. In fact, the New Moon on Thursday triggers thoughts about your future. (Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Old friends and faces from the past will definitely cross your path now and in the next few weeks. It's so easy to take people for granted; but in fact, it's important to have history with others. It somehow positions things for us. Take advantage of these opportunities to play catch up with old acquaintances. Matters related to shared property, wills, inheritances, debt and taxes will demand your attention- but hey, you're making great headway. If you can use the resources of others to help someone, especially at work - you will. Set aside some time to think of your life direction in general. Thursday's New Moon wants you to do this. (Didn't you get the memo?)
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This Mercury retrograde takes place at the top of your chart. Everyone can see it! Think about what to wear. (The secret of life is being able to look good at a distance.) Actually, this means you'll be in contact with bosses, parents and authority figures from your past. Therefore, it behooves you to look your best at all times. Who knows where your next opportunity lies? Opportunities that push your career in a new direction could come along. Or you might bump into a boss you once detested. It's hard to say how this will unfold. But Thursday's New Moon wants you to explore new places, new ideas, and opportunities related to publishing and the media. Partnerships work well in tandem this week. Seven bells and all's well.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
There are two sides to every Mercury retrograde. (Front and back.) One side frustrates us with silly errors and delays. But there's also the back side, which is full of opportunity. It's far easier to finish old business and wrap up old stuff during a Mercury retrograde period. Everything sort of comes together quite beautifully! (Even though, ironically, there are still glitches in communications or getting to work.) You have a wonderful opportunity to wrap up old stuff (note the adjective 'old') connected with publishing, education, the media, medicine and the law. You can also make great strides related to travel and dealing with foreign countries. Finish as much as you can!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Details related to shared property, mortgages, inheritances, wills or the wealth of others might become unglued or go south in the next month. This means you have to go in again and fix everything. And you can do this. Perhaps matters that you thought were settled and put to bed still need to be rehashed. This is a playful week for you. Yet you're also working very hard with sports related activities or the arts, the entertainment world, and the hospitality industry. Not only are you industrious now, you're full of imaginative ideas! Be patient with financial delays. The cheque's in the mail. (Yeah, yeah, we know that one.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You will definitely run into ex partners and old friends this month or perhaps even next month. Factoid. It's time to swap lies and talk about the bad old days. Of course, you like to create a decent impression on your audience. (One does have a reputation to uphold.) Therefore, buy something jazzy, even if it's pinstriped navy blue, so that you feel really hot about yourself. (Inner confidence is everything.) On Thursday, think about how you can improve your job or how you do your job. You're working hard at home to make things look better, perhaps even quite elegant! Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
I hate to tell you this, but I know you want to know the truth. ("Lie to me! Sugar-coat it!") The Mercury retrograde this month hits you where you work. Anything could happen. Expect missed messages, misunderstandings, delays, minor breakages, power outages, false alarms, fire drills, lost paperwork, late deliveries, and other silly little errors I can't even dream up. Allow extra time for everything. Double-check your work. Double-check details regarding appointments. Expect to have to redo things. You might bump into old coworkers. Nevertheless, Thursday's New Moon urges you to scrutinize your romantic life. And when did you last take a vacation?
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Old lovers are back on the scene. This could be exciting or appalling. (You do have a history.) You might also have to deal with issues regarding children. The upside is that old opportunities related to show business, the arts, sports, and vacations might need tweaking once more, and this is your chance to do it. You're gung ho to work hard to earn money this week. You have some secret plans about buying something quite luxurious. (I need it, I want it, I'm going to get it!) Some of you will also spend money in a philanthropical or generous way to benefit others because you're very kind. (But kind of what?) Keep working hard because you can make a name for yourself this year.
