All Signs
Every 7-9 years, Jupiter squares up with Uranus. Jupiter is expansive, optimistic and ready to conquer the world ("Forget war - let's throw a big potluck where everybody brings a hot dish and a book to exchange.") Uranus is a wild card -- explosive, unpredictable and gunning for reform. It's revolutionary! When these two planets cross swords (as they do three times this year) it behooves us to err on the side of caution. Don't hit the pavement running hoping for the best. It's wonderful to embrace the power of positive thinking - but hey - a bag piper with a beeper? Ah yes, as Lily Tomlin said, "Reality is a crutch for those who can't cope with drugs."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
You need an intelligent balance between your dreams and what is actually doable with publishing, the media, medicine and the law - and also anything to do with education, going back to school, teaching or learning more. You have many opportunities in these areas this year. Factoid. Nevertheless, you might jump into something too fast. Since these are the areas where you can expand and take advantage of opportunities - study them carefully. Don't just accept the first offer that comes along. Don't let yourself become brainwashed by some trendy idea. The only thing that will change your life is you. (Although great sex does wonders.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Even though you're hedonistic and pleasure loving, you're serious about money in the bank, land, real estate, family security and who owns what. This year, a lot of this comes into play. Inheritances, gifts, goodies, and favours or advantages from others (or possibly your partners increased wealth) will somehow benefit you in a practical or pleasant way. Yet something to do with friends or groups or organizations could blindside you and upset your expectations. It's important to be aware of this. Don't inherit the farm and suddenly give it to a nudist colony practicing The Secret. You're sensible and levelheaded. Stay that way.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Even though your ambition is aroused and you're working hard - you're working alone or behind the scenes. Your ruler Mercury moves into your sign this week, and this makes you want to talk to everyone. However, re: All Signs above (and this element is at play all year) -- your challenge is to figure out how to maintain partnerships and close friendships (because you want these to be happy) and yet at the same time, not let these loving relationships be too high a cost on your ability and freedom to determine your own destiny. In other words, you want closeness, but you don't want to be suffocated. Just how short is your leash?
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Most of you can improve your job this year. Either the dynamics or duties of your job will change, or your horrible boss will leave, or you'll get a new job. The only thing that could muddy the waters or diminish these chances might be your desire to travel, or go back to school, or write, or perhaps you're hung up on medical or legal details. In other words, you can't do both. You can't go back to school and improve your existing job, not unless you're very, very lucky. Or you're a teacher. Travel could interfere with your plans. But generally, Cancers like to stay at home (unless you have a lot of Sagittarius in your chart.) You travel for family reasons or for business. What do you really want to do?
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Unless you're born very late (August 15 or later) this year is going to promise you a lot of fun, flirtatious, playful times! (Later Leos will enjoy this same fun next year.)Love and romance are beautifully favoured, as are vacations, involvement with sports, participation with the arts and any kind of activity with children. These are the areas that speak to you now. However, matters related to shared property, obligations to others, debt, taxes and inheritances can bring complications to your fun life. ("Yup - there's no free lunch.") So now you're in a quandary: what is the cost of all this fun? How much does it interfere with your obligations, and even your financial security? Life - there's always a catch.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Most Virgos are happier with their home life and where they live than they've been in ages. This year and next (depending on whether you're an early Virgo or a late Virgo) you'll enjoy more warmth, more happiness, and a greater feeling of contentment with your home. However, your commitment to partners and close friends could bring some complications to this idyllic bubble. You don't want to feel hog-tied by someone. You need to be free to do your thing! Not only that, the freedom your partner wants might jeopardize your feelings of security. It's so hard to make it all come together and work nicely. The problem is people are always acting under the influence of human nature.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
On the whole, your day-to-day activities are pretty good. You feel more positive about life than you have for a long time. You're grateful for what you have and you have a lot to look forward to as well. All this seems to be running along quite smoothly. The only dark cloud on your horizon might be matters related to health (my body is falling apart) or responsibilities to your job. ("I owe, I owe, off to work I go.") Life is a kitchen sink reality. That's all there is to it. You work with what you've got. So your dreams have to be realistic, that's all. (Nothing wrong with that.) The secret to life is to look good at a distance. This you can do!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Either this year or next, you can count on making more money. You'll definitely boost your income and your earnings. (This is good because you have expensive tastes.) In fact, the next few weeks promise travel for pleasure for many of you. However, unexpected demands related to children, or romance, or the arts, or sports, or even a pricey vacation could interfere with your joys of sitting in your counting house counting out your money. In fact, these areas will offer an ongoing challenge to your ability to accrue or create wealth. Possibly, the hang-up is that romance, vacations, sports and children rob you of the time you need to make more money? It's hard to get rich.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Things are coming up roses. That's because your ruler, lucky Jupiter is finally in your own sign. But all is not paradise. Interruptions to your family dynamic, or perhaps residential moves, or family squabbles, or some kind of chaos at home due to renovations or whatever -- are taking the bloom off your happy fantasy. You don't want to feel tied down by domestic security. "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose" is one of your fav songs. Yet, is this really true? You think there's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes. But, childish and childlike are two different things. Even kids have responsibilities.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This continues to be a time where you can enjoy flirtations, romantic rendezvous, a greater interest in sports, an enjoyment of the arts, and rewarding times with children. Partnerships and close friendships will really flourish now in a lovely reciprocal way. All of this is just fine. But what is hard to handle right now are the crazy interruptions to your daily world. What gives? In particular, relations with siblings and relatives are completely nuts. You can't walk away from what you don't like because, unlike many others, you have a strong sense of loyalty and responsibility to your commitments. It was ever thus. And so it goes. Amen.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
You've really been out there flying your colours this year. (Later Aquarians will be doing it next year.) You've been enjoying this increased popularity because you genuinely like people. In particular, you love characters. (And you probably are one yourself.) But somehow, money, possessions or your ability to earn a living, or the time necessary to do these things seem to be in the way of your social life. Gee whiz. So sorry. (But I jest.) Something about your job or your possessions or your earnings and your ability to relate or lead groups and organizations is in conflict. Just cope as best you can. You need interaction with others; and you need to put food on the table.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
More than any other sign, you have a chance to dramatically make a name for yourself now - either this year or next. You can really create a persona or a public reputation. You might even create a company or a new name for yourself. It's all very exciting. Your competence is growing along with the respect that others are starting to give you. This is pretty heady stuff. But if you get caught up in this, how does this impact your freedom? Sure you're big-name out there - but do you still own you? Does everyone else want a piece of you? It's hard to meet the demands of the world and maintain your own independence.
