We're in the first Mercury retrograde of 2007. (It's over by the 8th of March.) Take extra precautions with cars and trucks. Stay on top of repairs. Pay your phone bill. Charge your cell phone. Try to anticipate how to reduce the chaos in your life due to delays and breakdowns with transportation and confused communications. Use this time to finish projects that have already begun. This is a poor time to begin new things or buy cars and trucks. People from your past will reappear; and we'll all have vuja de moments. (Unlike moments of deją vu, where you have a feeling you have done this before - vuja de are moments where you buy something knowing you have no money and no way of paying for it. ("Will my Visa hold?")
Aries (March 21-April 19)
It's a guarantee old friends will be back in your life now. (Let's hope they owe you money and not vice versa.) However, this is a good opportunity to catch up on old news, learn about who divorced who, and just sit around trading lies. After all, it's good to have history with others. In fact, some of these encounters will benefit you by expanding your mind in a new direction, or make you appreciate what you have but perhaps took for granted. Talk to people about your goals. Their feedback will help you. Your ambition is strong now. You're riding the honeyed razor's edge. (And privately some of you are having secret love affairs.) Oo la la.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
At this time, you might have a chance to reconsider a previous job offer or a promotion that was previously discussed. Something related to your career and your life direction is now undergoing a looping effect. ("We're back doing this again?") In the same way, bosses from your past, or old business with parents might come to the fore once again. Do something this time. Unfinished business, especially with parents could be important. Now is the time to wrap up loose details in these areas. Friends or groups are full of surprises. Meanwhile, many of you are eager about travel plans or publishing, education, medicine or the law. Be open to new friendships that can spring up now.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Of course, you feel this Mercury retrograde - Mercury is your ruler! If you're dressed every day for work (and people aren't pointing at you) count yourself lucky. Lost items, misplaced papers, confused messages, missed appointments, forgotten obligations, and embarrassing goof-ups plague you now. Expect to run into people from other countries or some who are from afar or perhaps from a different culture. But these people are connected to your past. Travel plans and matters related to publishing, the media, medicine, law and any aspect of education will suffer delays, cancellations or errors. (If at first you don't succeed hide all evidence that you ever tried.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Old business connected with inheritances, insurance matters, estates, debt, taxes and all that fun stuff is back in your lap again. (You can run but you can't hide.) Just bite the bullet. Roll up your sleeves and get as much done as you can. Mercury retrograde is a bummer because it brings back things from the past to haunt you once again. But the up side of Mercury retrograde is that it helps you finish old business. The energy of Mercury retrograde is to wrap up and finish what is already begun. Therefore, use this to your advantage! Plow through all that red tape. (A stitch in time saves embarrassing exposure.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You're a romantic. (Your sign rules love affairs and romance.) Whether you like it or not, ex-partners and old flames are back in your life (or in your mind). (Once more again with feeling!) This emphasis on old partnerships includes professional relationships as well as intimate ones. Or you might be rehashing old problems with current partners and close friends. Either way, stuff from the past connected with relationships exists now. In a way, this is no surprise because you're focused on partnerships and close friends at this time. Fortunately, work distracts you because you have lots of energy and motivation to accomplish something. Good! Keep busy.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Like Gemini, you are ruled by Mercury; and Mercury is now going retrograde. There are three Mercury retrograde periods each year; and each time they occur in a different sign, which means they hit a different part of your chart. This current Mercury retrograde could really screw up things at work for you. Just accept this and try to do damage control. Many little errors will occur on your job: delays, lost papers, missed communications, misunderstandings; cheques in the mail will be late, staff shortages, and minor breakdowns of equipment. It's the ordinary little things that will go awry -- not huge stuff. But these are the things the test one's patience. (Aaagghh!)
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Look your best at all times because you're definitely going to run into old flames now. (Living well is the best revenge.) Some of these might spark a reunion of sorts. Others are dealing with old issues related to children -- their education or maintenance. Delays related to sports and creative ventures are likely as well. Plus anything to do with the entertainment world or the hospitality industry will suffer from misunderstandings, delays and goof ups. Yes, sometimes life is just a cruel hoax. Nevertheless, the problems we suffer from Mercury retrograde are generally minor. Perhaps that's why they are so annoying. (Be patient with family members and chaos at home.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Relatives might be camped on your doorstep. Broken appliances and old family problems (especially connected with parents) must be dealt with one more time. Instead of rolling your eyes and muttering, "Not this again" - use this as an opportunity to clear the decks and clean up old business. This is the perfect time to finish ongoing home projects. Wrapping up old tasks goes much more swiftly during a Mercury retrograde time. The only snag is there might be confused communications and minor delays. But you're in the right frame of mind to want to finish things. Don't begin new projects now. Wait until late in March to begin new things. Timing is everything.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This particular Mercury retrograde really hits you where it can do the most harm i.e. in areas related to ground transportation and daily communications. Pay your phone bill! Keep abreast of anything that could cause a breakdown of communications or transportation. Think of anything that might go wrong with your car. Get new printer ink or paper. Fix broken tools that you might need. Try to anticipate all those little things that will stop you cold in the water with your daily tasks. Sometimes minor procrastinations cause problems just when we really need something to work. (Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.) Save yourself some self-flagellation by taking care of minor things when they need to be addressed.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
For some reason, you're focused on old money or financial issues right now. This could be related to previous purchases. Perhaps you need to return something or you're having difficulty with someone about getting satisfaction about something you already bought. Problems related to past earnings or collecting money that is owed to you might also exist. Guard your possessions and your money. Be careful of loss or breakage. Also be very careful of errors related to banking and getting the correct change or even being paid correctly. On the upside, some of you might have a second chance (that previously fell through) at earning money. You'll enjoy physical exercise now.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Although this particular Mercury retrograde started off in Pisces, it remains primarily in your sign. That's why you feel that the brakes are on in almost every aspect of your life. You're walking in quicksand. It's tough to move forward. And all this is true. Therefore, quite literally -- go with the flow. Go backwards! Now is the time to wrap up all kinds of stuff that is sitting around unfinished. Of course, much of this will be right in your face; especially matters related to partnerships and close friendships. Be patient with any daily irritations due to lost items, delays, and confused communications. Caca happens.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You're the only sign that has Mercury retrograde taking place in a hidden part of your chart. Furthermore, Mercury began going retrograde in your sign. That's why this particular Mercury retrograde makes you feel very much at loose ends and out of sync with reality. It can even make you question yourself. ("I doubt, therefore, am I?") Snafus related to large organizations and the government will cause delays and confusion. But hey - it really is all minor stuff. When the annals of history are written, this won't even make it into print. Get things in perspective. (I cried because I had no shoes, then I met a man who had never had a pedicure! That was a sobering reality.)
