All Signs
It's Mercury retrograde. Mercury rules ground transportation, all forms of communication and our daily activities. In reality, Mercury always goes forward orbiting the Sun. But from our Earthly POV, it appears to go backwards three times a year. (For 4-5 weeks.) Then everything it rules has delays, glitches and confusion. However, before it goes retrograde -- it slows down, then grinds to a halt, then begins to move backwards. That's why we feel the effects of Mercury retrograde before it actually goes retrograde. Ditto when it goes forward again. Therefore, even though the dates of this Mercury retrograde are March 2 - 25; I wouldn't get a new car or bike until April 9th. Forewarned is forearmed!
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Each Mercury retrograde takes place in a different sign, which means each Mercury retrograde is different. Sometimes you have computer hell. Other times your car breaks down. This Mercury retrograde takes place in a "hidden" area of your chart -- the 12th House. This will cause old behavior patterns to emerge once again. This doesn't mean you're sucking your thumb at the office, but you might feel pouty, insecure or nervous and uneasy and not know why. Be careful you don't cut off your nose to spite your face. You're your own worst enemy right now. Guard against self-defeating acts. This feeling underlies most of your activities for the whole month. Be kind to yourself. Get an ice cream cone.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Discussions with old friends and people you used to be involved with through groups, clubs and organizations from the past are inevitable this month. It's old home week. In fact, some of you might actually attend reunions or annual events where you all get together once again. With fair Venus at the top of your chart now, you're especially diplomatic and charming! You make a great impression on everyone now, especially VIPs and bosses. And while Jupiter is in Scorpio (until Dec.) all your close friendships and partnerships are beautifully favoured. This is a fabulous year for schmoozing. Buy some new clothes so you feel like a million bucks. (Well, at least $89.95.)
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This current Mercury retrograde is taking place at high noon in your chart. This means there's some kind of obvious visibility at play. I hope it doesn't mean you get a flat tire in rush-hour traffic on a busy bridge. Nevertheless, it will mean that others notice your need to cope with delays, confusion, missed appointments, late arrivals, and transportation problems. Your boo-boos will be public. (Groan.) In addition, you'll be involved with bosses, parents and authority figures from your past. The public aspect of these goofy mix-ups is embarrassing. After all, you have the good sense to know if you're going to crayon on the wall - do it behind the sofa!
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Those who work in publishing, the media, higher education, medicine and the law are hit hard by this particular Mercury retrograde. Just grin and bear it. Fortunately, most of these glitches are small things -- but they're frustrating! Everything takes longer. Whatever you're expecting is late. Whatever you need to find is lost. You can't get to work or to meetings on time. You might even wait at the wrong place or the wrong restaurant to meet someone. The good news is you can finish a lot of work that is currently on your plate. This is wonderful for people in law and education or those who are going to school. Research will be easy! And very productive.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You're practically obsessed with your debt, taxes, and anything you share with someone else -- especially loans, mortgages and jointly held property. Because of this strong focus, many of you are trying to eliminate your debt or greatly reduce it. Naturally, Leos are big spenders. Therefore, as quickly as you reduce your debt -- you also generate more! (The devil made me do it.) Nevertheless, this is an excellent month for any kind of research for your sign. You'll be unusually effective and productive in your attempts to discover whatever you're looking for. This is a great time to finish joint projects that have been simmering on the back burner. Move ahead on old stuff.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Mercury rules two signs: Gemini and Virgo. (How typical for a busy, multitasking planet. Pluto just takes care of your basic no frills: war, pestilence and famine.) This particular Mercury retrograde occurs directly opposite your sign, which means it will draw all kinds of ex-partners and old buddies out of the woodwork. "Freddie! Long time no see!" The good news is this is your chance to finalize and wrap up old stuff that had been limping along. Talk to others. Get their cooperation. Get signatures, agreements and consensus. You'll be glad to cross some of this off your To Do list. Partners who have split up can finally resolve old issues. ("You take Star Wars and I'll take the Godfather trilogy.")
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
When the going gets tough, the tough try to play hooky from work. Being forewarned; and being aware of what's going on solves half the problem. You'll feel less caught unawares. You're at least in the picture. (And you have buttered popcorn.) This particular Mercury retrograde hits you right in your job. Confused communications, lost papers, late arrivals, and silly, little errors that drive you nuts are just par for course. Some of you will deal with past issues related to small pets and even perhaps, your health. Just bite the bullet and cope as best you can. If you're looking for work, try places you applied to or worked at before.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
The good news is this particular Mercury retrograde takes place in a Water Sign - and you're a Water Sign, so some of this mess is somewhat softened. The bad news is you're still in Mercury retrograde. Your delays and minor frustrations will be with the arts, show business, the entertainment world, professional sports and working with children. You'll definitely run into old flames and ex lovers. (Considering your track record, this will be like running the gauntlet.) On the bright side, you can wrap up unfinished business in these same areas. For example, parents or ex partners can agree about children's issues (schooling or support etc.) It's time to finish things, not begin them.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This is the perfect month for you to attend to home repairs and finish things that have been nagging you in the back of your mind. We all have a To Do list just for where we live. You can get lots of this stuff done this month! You can also explore social obligations and serious discussions with family members. We all put off family obligations, then something happens and we feel filled with regret. Don't let this happen to you. Welcome relatives who contact you now (and they will.) In turn, extend some friendly invitations to others. Have the gang over! Make your famous Buffalo Wings. (Patch-up differences.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This is a nasty Mercury retrograde for your sign. That's because it's going backwards in the part of your chart it actually rules! (Ground transportation, communication, writing and study, and interaction with siblings and relatives.) If you don't pay your phone bill -- you'll be cut off. Be careful about losing your cell phone. Allow extra time for all travel, studying and communications. Internet problems are likely. E-mail will be down. Car problems and late buses will cause delays and frustrations. Your interaction with siblings will increase. Discussions and studies that relate to the past will go well. This is the time to fix what isn't working. (No, this does not apply to your brain.)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Old money issues are back to haunt you once again. This could be anything. Perhaps ways of earning money that you once gave up on now look feasible and promising. Not only will past ways to earn money occur to you now; you might want to spend money for something you wanted for a long time. In other words, everything to do with your cash flow and your possessions revolves around past stuff now. This is not the time to go forward with new moneymaking ventures; but it is the time to wrap up old business. Finish what is already on your plate. (Do you still want that cheesecake?)
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
For the month of March, Mercury is retrograde in your sign. (You can run but you can't hide.) You feel like you're walking in quicksand. Everything needs to be redone! Little glitches hang you up. You put down your keys -- you can't find them. You can't find library books. You can't find bills, receipts, rented movies. You're not like this! Don't worry; you're not losing it --this is par for the course. Ex partners and old friends are back in your life again. This could be good or bad. Your only recourse is to take a deep breath, allow extra time for everything, not get excited about what was wrong, and look your best at all times. Don't forget to floss.
