All Signs
Those of you who read my daily column will know I recommend times to avoid shopping. (Those are the times you bought all that stuff you never wear hanging in the back of your closet.) Last year there were many poor days to shop before the holidays, including the 24th! This year is the opposite. From now until December 25, the only poor day to shop is Saturday morning the 18th. Christmas Day itself however, is one of those goofy days, and it's right on top of a Full Moon. This means shortages on that day are likely. (Whipping cream? Batteries? Mosquito repellent?) Forewarned is forearmed. Mercury retrograde is over by December 20th. After that, things will fall into place nicely, even if your hair's on fire right now. (But you know I'm as optimistic as a bagpiper with a beeper.)
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Travel opportunities excite you now. (You love to see those telephone poles going by.) Better yet - why not jet to your destination? No matter, you like road trips. You love to jump impulsively out of the car and have little adventures wherever you go. You'll explore anything new, even truck stops. At some point this week, (Tuesday?) you might collaborate with others for a charitable cause. That's because your idealism is aroused. Different religions, cultures and philosophies intrigue you now. In fact, you're wonderful company for others this week! (Kiss, kiss.) You're upbeat, friendly, generous and expansive. (If there's tension with a loved one, don't go to bed mad; stay up and fight.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You're absorbed with a number of different things right now. In fact, you're juggling quite a bit. This week your approach to everything is intense. You want to research matters and discover solutions and answers. You're also giving energy to a lot of boring, red tape details and loose ends that need to be cleared up (insurance, debt and bills.) You're concerned with possessions and shared property. You're also thinking a lot about sex. (This isn't boring!) You feel very generous. Keep in mind that generosity is giving what is needed. It's not just getting rid of surplus. Don't be talked into doing anything you don't want to do. Your nice guy routine is great, but don't lose your shirt.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is a lovely week for your sign! Sure things are kind of crazy because Mercury is retrograde right now, and Mercury is your ruler. (Hence, the car troubles, transportation delays, and why you can't find keys, books, and little pieces of paper. And why you retrace your steps, and when you get there you wonder why. And why old partners are back in your life. Oy vay.) Nevertheless, you're having wonderful conversations and flirtations with others. The stance you're taking now is generous and high-minded. People admire you for this (and secretly, so do you.) It feels good to be noble and magnanimous, doesn't it? (It's the god thing.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Things at work are going quite well. You find it easy to achieve a nice balance between making sensible, long-range plans; and at the same time, beingfun loving and flirtatious entertaining at home. That's because you're essentially happy! You feel better about your home and your relations with family members. Because others are showing you kindness, possibly at work, you feel good about life in general. (One does like to be cosseted as it were. Eh wot? Seconds at dessert are nice too.) Basically, when things at home are good, you're happy. When things at home are bad, you're unhappy. Right now they're good. Cogito ergo dim sum. (Therefore I think these are pork buns.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
There's a strong focus now on love affairs, romance, fun, social times, artistic events, creative output, and playful hours with children. That about sums it up. (No black crepe paper here.) It's a hey nonny nonny week for you! Some of you are involved more than usual in sports as well. Busy activity continues on the home front. You're putting out a lot of effort to make things look nice. (And they will.) Your state of mind is positive, your humour is sharp; plus you're feeling sexy and sassy! Privately, you want to help needy children. (Leo is the sign of children, just as Cancer is the sign of cooking.) Use your leadership skills and charisma to do something humanitarian if you can.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Your focus is on home and family right now, and pleasantly so. You're making big plans, and you're busy with home-improvement projects. Something at work makes you feel quite idealistic, even dreamy. You're very open to helping coworkers and vice versa. However, someone older, wiser or more established might give you real estate advice right now, or help you out in some way. This is an excellent time for real estate. Your relations with others (especially siblings) are strong but pleasant. (Both Venus and Mars are in the picture here.) Shopping, wheeling and dealing, and negotiations with others go extremely well now. You're on top of your scene!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
My "hair's on fire" comment in All Signs certainly applies to you. You're running around with an outboard motor on your ass. So little time, so much to do! (Time flies when you're unconscious.) Fortunately, you feel positive, upbeat and unusually competent right now. Conversations with parents and bosses are sane and mutually beneficial. Others see you know what you're doing even though you're on the point of hysteria. You're hemorrhaging money but this is nothing new to you. You've got big ideas. This makes you ambitious to attempt a lot right now. This holiday season will be particularly joyful this year for your sign. Stock the fridge. Buy booze. (If you put out fresh flowers, you don't have to dust.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
With both Mars and Venus in your sign, you're energetic and charming in a marvelous, diplomatic way. (When you lay on the sweetness and light, you do it in style.) You're making serious purchases, in large measure because you're making more dough. If you're not making more money, you have big plans to do so. (Your sign is never intimidated by big projects and huge plans.) You're also particularly helpful and kind to family members right now. (Great Brownie points for the future.) Solidify long-range plans for education, returning to school, long-distance travel and publishing matters. You could meet a teacher now. This happens now and zen (to koan a phrase.)
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
With Mercury retrograde in your sign now, lots of silly glitches and minor delays are taking place. Plus you're running into old faces from the past. But this is all stuff you can handle. You're getting a lot of enjoyment doing things with friends and groups right now. Your hopes and wishes look very solid. That's because you have a clearer idea about your objectives. You recognize that you can get what you want the easiest by working with others and helping them get what they need as well. It's the old win/win combo. Never fails. Philosophical and religious subjects attract you now. Travel looks great. Conversations with siblings are affectionate and nostalgic. A wise teacher could influence you.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You continue to juggle your need for solitude and working behind the scenes, with your need to respond to invitations from others. Try to keep a good balance. You can't go overboard in either direction. Research and work with the government (and prisons and hospitals) can boost your career right now. Yet, group activities and fun times with friends are also appealing. You might spend money rather frivolously perhaps extravagantly this week. Someone older or richer might help you out with advice or financial assistance. (It's nice to have friends in high places.) When generosity is offered to you - always accept graciously.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Busy you! You've got big, exciting plans related to travel, publishing, education, medicine and the law. But are you being realistic? You're tempted to be a bit pie-in-the-sky right now. On the other hand, (you have different rings) bosses, VIPs and supervisors are very supportive at work. They understand your unorthodox, avant-garde style. (They're not sure if you're nuts or a genius, but in case it's the latter, they're giving you a lot of rope.) Actually, bosses and VIPs are extremely impressed with you. You're making a stellar impression on them. This is a good time to wrap up old business. Fee, fi, fo fum! I smell a promotion that might come!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You're in the limelight right now. People notice you, and you don't mind. You're using every resource you can get; you're pulling out all stops. Your ability to fundraise and encourage input from others is excellent this week. You are more sensitive to the sufferings of others than many other people. This time of year (especially with cold-weather and hard times) you have lots of opportunities to practice altruism, and raise the bar among your own kind. People are watching you. If you set an example of generosity and kindness, others will follow suit. Nothing is so irretrievably missed as a daily opportunity.
