We've all felt Mercury slowing down, but now it's official -- the retrograde is upon us! (Over on April 30.) There's a downside and an upside to Mercury retrograde. The downside is delays and confusion in communications, transportation, phone systems, luggage, flights, mail, computers, the Internet, and all forms of information technology. Postal workers and publishers of newspapers and magazines are hit hard. Silly, goofy errors dog our steps. This is a poor time to purchase cars and computers, and begin new ventures. However, this is a great time for introspection, self-scrutiny, and finishing old business. If you're having difficulties with relationships (who isn't?) instead of jumping on the table saying, "Let's talk!" -- far better to privately ponder things. (And so it goes.) Onward through the fog!
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Your fight or flirt impulse is aroused. You're tempted to stir up trouble with others just for a little excitement. You're batting your eyes at people to see their reaction. But privately, you're on a self-improvement kick. This is good. For those who are long in the tooth, you should know that events taking place now are similar to whatever happened around July 1974. (Astrology is a set of never-ending cycles.) As Mercury retrogrades back into your sign, use this time to study your role in your closest relationships. The bottom-line is this: what do you really want? Are you working towards achieving this or just reacting to things?
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You're impulsive with money right now. (Now you see it, now you don't. Be truthful -- did you ever actually see it?) Spontaneous purchases, and financial windfalls are exciting! Employment matters are exhilarating; however, don't be impatient. Unpredictable Uranus squares two planets influencing your financial scene. You want to get the show on the road! Baby needs a new pair of shoes! Stop. Sit up and be a Taurus. It wasn't the hare that won the race; it was the tortoise. And tortoise wisdom is your strength. Be cool. Choose the timing that suits you best. Personally, you're undergoing a change to your belief system. (You believe you're gonna get rich!)
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You hate to be bored. But let's be reasonable. Taunting your boss (or your parent) just to see them get blue in the face is not so smart. (Fun maybe, but not smart.) By contrast, some of you are flirting with your boss, VIPs or teachers. (Anything for a rush.) Is this wise? Don't promise more than you can deliver. Fortunately, you can work with a friend or a group by using the resources of others to accomplish a lot now. Or you might change the way you work with what's available to you. The bottom-line is this: use what you've got. Make the most of it. This is an excellent time to improve real estate, home and family. Buy a new pillow for yourself.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This week offers you fabulous opportunities to improve relationships and partnerships. For starters, you find it easier than usual to be honest about where you stand in the picture. You have a better idea about what you contribute, what you owe, and what you want. That's all it takes. Once you know what you want, then you can constantly ask yourself, "Does what I am doing work towards my objective or against it?" (Sometimes, you want to react in a certain way to show that you're not happy about something. But does this serve your purpose or hurt it? Do you actually improve your relationship?) Sigh. It's so hard being a human.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You're very contemplative right now. You're giving a lot of thought to your life direction in general. Older Leos will see a similarity between what's happening now and what happened in 1974. You're reducing your possessions and saying goodbye to people and things. Don't fight this. Don't try to hold up something that needs to fall. A graceful exit on your own terms is far better than being evicted. Since you know this is happening, take control. After all, this is simply a preparation for an entirely new sandbox in 2005 - 06. Start buying new clothes. Your new scene will require a different wardrobe. (Think of how you'll look in that Safari outfit. Wicked!)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Bosses, VIPs, parents, teachers and authority figures think very well of you now. (You've got them all fooled.) Don't be afraid to toot your own horn. The reason you never appreciate how good you are, is you think you're supposed to know it all. That's crazy! Nobody knows it all. The world is run by people who got a C- average in high school. (If that.) If you know as much or more than those around you, you're tops. Stand up and take the credit you deserve. Your critical ability to see what is lacking in any situation (including your own abilities) is what makes you doubt yourself. Sure the meek shall inherit the Earth -- but they're gonna have to fight for it.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You need somebody on the other end of your teeter-totter. You're not a loner. Right now you have a fabulous opportunity to improve your partnerships. It involves soul-searching. What kind of friend are you? Are you afraid that if you give too much you're being taken advantage of? Good relationships don't keep score. Examine one of the best relationships -- a mother's love for her child. She doesn't say "I'm always doing this for you, what are you doing for me?" The truth is that you're always really having a relationship with yourself. If you're kind, generous, understanding and patient - then that's who you are. (And when you're that way, it's quite easy to be happy.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You can make some fabulous improvements to where you work now. You're getting rid of junk and stuff that is no longer relevant or useful. You see new applications for existing equipment and procedures. You're taking a new approach to your style of relating to people. And the world is cooperating with you! (Go figure.) Sometimes when a door closes, you're stuck in an elevator for three hours. But now when a door closes, a window opens. Use this gung ho energy to make improvements to your health as well. Buff that bod. (Lookin' swell, babes!)
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You can improve your financial investments now. Or at least, reform the way you approach playing with money (including gambling.) Certain transformative energies will allow you to make these changes quite easily now. Furthermore, you'll derive great satisfaction from them. Whatever improvements you try to bring into your life now, make sure that they improve the lives of others as well. (Yeah, Pluto's involved.) Perhaps you can help children. You can also improve your love life. After all, the force of Darth Vader is with you. (Powerful heavy breathing.) Hmmm - maybe not the image you want. That mask could get in the way. (Ouch!)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You're very realistic and hard-working. You don't kid yourself very much; but you often hold back because of fear of failure. Right now you can make some wonderful improvements that will work to your advantage. You can really turn around something connected with real estate, your home, and your family dynamic. It might involve getting rid of stuff. (Deadwood, junk, old attitudes; as well as making repairs to things.) These improvements can also be to your family relationships. Perhaps it's time to move on. Your closest partnerships are very challenging right now. Some will have outlived their usefulness. Others simply need readjustments. Trust your gut. If it feels good -- do it. If it doesn't - don't.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Sudden changes to your employment scene are exciting. Impulse buying and minor windfalls are also in the picture. Actually, the greatest thing that is under revision -- one might even say reform -- is your daily routine. Times are a-changin'! Life ain't what it used to be. Relations with daily contacts, siblings and relatives take on an entirely new meaning. Meanwhile, back in the bedroom, romance and flirtations look promising. (Promises, promises.) Vacations, play time and more time for hobbies are yours for the asking. ("I ask! I ask!") All that hard work is starting to pay off. However, serious recognition for your efforts won't come for another year. Then -- kudos, baby!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You've decided to clean up your act financially speaking. You're making improvements to your job, how you earn your money and even how you spend your dough. (This does not apply to your shoe budget, which is something that has a life unto itself.) Car repairs, missed buses plus canceled appointments and confused communications are unavoidable now. You might also be involved with a sibling more than usual. This is a good time to make charitable donations. That's because what you do with your money must benefit others as well as yourself. Actually, this is how you will get your best payoff for the future. (What goes around comes around.)
