All Signs
Mercury rules communication, ground transportation and our everyday routine: speech, messages, newspapers, magazines, and the mail. Ditto for telephones, cell phones, and answering machines. Ground transportation includes cars, trucks, bicycles etc. Mercury goes retrograde three times this year: April 6 - 30; Aug. 9 - Sept. 2; and Nov. 30 - Dec. 19. The delays, breakdowns and glitches in communications and transportation can start two weeks before these dates. Don't buy "Mercury items" during Mercury retrograde times. Don't begin important projects. Retrograde times are good for endings not beginnings. They're frustrating but not a super big deal. Industries connected with these areas feel it the most. Expect typos this month - in print, on your tongue, in everything you do. Aagghh.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
It's your turn to feel energized by the Sun. In fact, the Sun loves to be in Aries more than any other sign. You'll feel refreshed, turned on and more animated than usual. You'll bowl others over! In addition to this, the Sun spotlights you thereby attracting favorable circumstances and important people to you. That's why I often use the saying, "Make hay while the Sun shines" because it's literally true. Shop for goodies for yourself. Pitch your ideas to the boss. Expect increased success selling, teaching, marketing and persuading others to see things your way. You're hot stuff, babes!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
While Aries natives are out there dancing in the Sun, you should be resting in the shadows. You're waiting in the wings before your birthday arrives next month. This means that now is the time of preparation for you. Part of the preparation for anything includes a backwards glance at how things went before. Hopefully, we learn from our mistakes. Therefore, how did your last year go? What kind of rating would you give it? This is the perfect time to ponder how things went last year, and how you want them to go in the year ahead. You can definitely count on vacations and possibly romance to bring you fun times. (That's a promise.) Loosen up a little. You could be entering one of the most enjoyable years of your life!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
A sociable, popular month awaits you. Expect to hear from old friends. You might even attend a reunion or something like that. Accept all invitations and extend a few yourself. Plan on lots more socializing and chitchat with others. Increased involvement with clubs and organizations is also likely. The bottom line is -- you're out there schmoozing! People want to see you; you want to see them. Talk to others about your ideas. This is the perfect time to discuss goals and objectives. Input from others will help you. You also need increased physical exercise because Mars is in your sign now. The whole month ahead is go, go, go! (You love it.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Now is the only time all year when the Sun is at high noon in your chart. Like Aries, you're in the spotlight now. However it's a bit different for your sign. You are literally in the limelight. This might be due to special responsibilities that you have right now. Bosses and VIPs notice you more. In fact, people are easily impressed with you. (Naturally, you should milk this for all it's worth.) You might also be dealing with a parent more than usual in the next few weeks. You'll definitely have an opportunity to reform or improve your job in some way. Look for ways to make improvements beyond your immediate circle or family -- the whole block, the neighborhood, the city, maybe even Newfoundland!
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
There's something about Spring that makes you start to hatch plans for travel and adventure. It's a hangover from your school days. "Summer's coming! Can I borrow my parents' car and take off for a week?" That kind of thing. (Now you fantasize about borrowing your kid's car and taking off for a year.) Advancing your education or training also appeals. Thoughts of returning to school or taking some kind of exotic course (especially in a neat part of the world) are super appealing. Unfortunately, these things take coin and time. Expect opportunities with publishing, the law and medicine. You might also hook up with somebody from a completely different culture or background. (And you can wear that embroidered bolero!)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
The planetary shift taking place right now is subtle for your sign -- but intense! Suddenly you want to "feel" life. You're walking around with a red rose in your teeth. You want mucho gusto experience at a gut level. (Is that a riding crop you're carrying?) What's really going down is that you are more aware of your feelings and your wants. You have a strong drive for self-improvement now. You might even be buying books or little pamphlets. (That's how I learned about astrology -- lots of little pamphlets.) You might have an opportunity to make improvements at home through the help of others. Somebody will help you make repairs or lend you the necessary resources to do so. (Say yes.)
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You're focused on your closest partnerships or relationships now. Because you always like to have somebody on the other end of your teeter totter, relationships matter a great deal to you. Your best bet is to observe how you communicate to others. Are you open or defensive? Do you do the most of the talking or the listening? Are you really interested in others or do you fake it? Once you understand better how you relate to others, your life could radically change. That's because so much of life is about relating to people. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
This is a busy time for you. You want to improve your productivity and your effectiveness in whatever you do. You want to cut costs and get the most bang for your buck. That's why you're thinking of ways to get better organized and do things more efficiently. You know you have to achieve a lot right now -- but what is the best way to do this? Be open to learning something new. You could meet a teacher or someone who introduces you to new methods that are helpful to you. Whatever you research at work now will yield excellent results. Of course, you're one of the best researchers in the zodiac anyhow. (Did you know Freud was Scorpio Rising?)
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
The next four weeks can be extremely fun-loving and adventurous for you. If you can slip away for a vacation -- by all means do so! Activities related to the arts, professional sports, theater, movies and show business will delight you. You'll also enjoy playful activities with children. Saucy flirtations and possibly hot and heavy romance are definite possibilities in the month ahead. It's all up to you and whatever you decide to allow into your world. You might do some of these activities on the sly or in a secretive way now. It's your call. (Whatever turns you on.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
As your attention turns to family and home in the next few weeks, don't be surprised if you want to do a little research into the past. Genealogy, anecdotes about relatives and ancestors, or maybe just some juicy gossip about your uncle will fascinate you now. Essentially, you're developing a curiosity about your past. You want to know more about your roots and where you came from. Family reunions and family discussions could reveal some illuminating data. These discussions could precipitate big change. (At the very least, they'll yield small change that you'll find in the sofa.)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
For some reason, the tempo of your daily routine is accelerating now. You're trying to do more -- and you're succeeding! But you might be sleep deprived. Short trips, appointments, conversations with everyone plus increased reading and writing give you a packed schedule. Don't try to buck this trend. It's quite appropriate that you're busy now. Opportunities to play bring rewards for all your hard work. In addition, you're redecorating or fixing up your digs. The bottom line of all this activity is that you want to communicate something to the world now. Start by talking to siblings and relatives. They're all ears.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Although you're caught up in financial matters and wondering about cash flow right now, what you're really concerned with is your image and your value system. Our values and money and goods are closely related. That's because we think money will buy us the goods to make us happy. Or give us the time to play with the goods that will make us happy. But maybe this isn't so? After all, if it were true then everybody with money and goods would be happy, right? So it's not that simple is it? In other words -- what really matters in life? I mean, beyond dark chocolate. You have to define what you think makes you happy. (Despite the cost of living -- it's still popular.)
