This newspaper will be running my fabulous, annual 2004 Forecasts. Aries (March 21-April 19)
You're starting this New Year off with Mercury retrograde at high noon. I believe how things begin is how they unfold. Therefore, this year might symbolize a time where you are wrapping up a lot of old family business. (Quite possibly connected with a parent.) Similarly, unfinished business connected with a previous job (or an old boss) might also demand attention. I think you will be unusually vigorous and strong this year. You'll probably focus on getting more exercise. And we both know your job scene has to improve. After all, you can't fall off the floor. (The only direction some things can go is up.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Many of you may travel to familiar places this year. There's going to be a deja vu quality to publishing, dealing with foreign countries, the media and possibly legal matters. I don't think you'll be thinking, "Oh no -- not this again!" On the contrary, I think you will revisit pleasure, romance, and entertaining times. Many of you feel particularly selfless or affectionate towards a parent right now. This is wonderful. However, some might feel disappointed -- possibly due to unexpressed or unrealistic expectations. We don't all show our affection for each other in the same way. (More's the pity.) C'est la vie. That's a dialect of French meaning, "Hey -- throw me a friggin' bone!"
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You definitely have an opportunity to wade through boring red tape details concerning insurance matters, estates, shared property, joint resources and anything held in common with someone else -- including the responsibility for something. I say "boring red tape" but this stuff has to be done. It's kind of like finishing your vegetables before you get dessert. You also need to practice patience with a friend right now (possibly a group.) Actually, the most maddening thing you can do to your enemies is to forgive them. (It drives them nuts!) Try it -- it's worth it just to see their face.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
These are testy times with bosses and parents. Possibly partners as well. Nevertheless, despite this passing friction (one hopes) either someone is beautifully generous towards you -- or you are super kind to somebody else. The odds are that you're the on the receiving end. (That's nice.) This bodes well for what comes about for you late in 2004 -- and that's increased opportunities to benefit your real estate, your family and your home. Perhaps the money and goodies are already starting to roll in? You have to deal with ex partners now. It's been said that living well is the best revenge, and it's true. But so is loving well. (Even classier yet.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Everything in the workplace is a bit harried, delayed and suffering from silly errors and confusion. Somehow you're muddling through this quite gracefully. That could be because you have particularly tender feelings in your heart for someone right now. (A close friend, a partner or even a customer.) Something definitely touches your idealism. Plus you're feeling pleased with yourself knowing that your income is improving this year. (Cash is so much fun -- especially in large denominations. Don't you feel a little in awe of a $100 bill? I do. I actually saw one once. In person. In real life. Somebody else was holding it. I've always regretted that I never asked for a chance to touch it.) We always regret the things we never do.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
As long as you can cope dealing with old flames (and sputtering sparks) you can enter this New Year with grace and aplomb. Disputes about shared property are likely now. (That's the problem about buying a bed together.) Your relationships with coworkers are particularly supportive right now. People are being downright peachy! And you're willing to return the kindness. You can be heroically selfless at times because you enjoy helping others. How inspiring for us all. I recommend that you hook up with another Virgo to see what it's like to be on the receiving end of your generous gestures. You people really know how to give good hotel.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You have to rehash some old family matters now. Possibly, you have old repairs to take care around home as well. Your daily activities at home are fraught with going into a room and thinking, "What did I come in here for?" Plus you can't find anything! This bugs you because you like your home to be relaxed, comforting and supportive. Many of you are in love right now. It's not the realistic kind of love; it's the fun kind that's probably painful in the end. But it's always worth it. Love is always worth it. Marriage is the cause of divorce -- not love. Plus it's less fattening than chocolate. I always say, give me love or give me the ones with nuts in them - not the soft centre.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Do I have to apologize to you at the end of the year for all my Darth Vader jokes? I can't resist them because you're so powerful, decisive -- and extreme! You are Marquis de Sade and Mother Theresa. This week you're both. You're incredibly supportive, loving, generous and kind to someone at home or in your family. You feel heartfelt tenderness here. However, someone at work is starting to get to ya'. (Oh yeah.) Enough awreddy! Of course, all you have to do is walk over and stand there breathing noisily for a while. (If you stand real straight it works better.) However, your selfless gestures to someone in your private life are genuinely appreciated.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You might feel conflicted about blowing too much money on entertainment, or a vacation, or even perhaps the kids. Something here doesn't sit right with you. You party as hard as the next guy, and you're definitely fun loving and up for a good time. But you have to consider your financial limitations. (That's a euphemism for penniless.) And you can't go for baroque when you're broke. Nevertheless, through daydreams and pleasant conversations with others, you're enjoying the beauty of your surroundings. You love the glory of pristine nature. (But you might have to use last year's equipment to enjoy it.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Since this New Year starts off with Mercury retrograde in your sign, no doubt you will be taking care of old business especially to do with partnerships and relationships. You'll do what you have to because you're a disciplined, practical person. (Most of the time.) You feel generous with your money right now, and are probably buying yourself and loved ones something luxurious and a bit over the top. You don't waste your money; but you do know how to do things with class. Be patient with parents and family members. Don't say anything you will regret. (Make your words sweet in case you have to eat them later.)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This is an enormously wonderful time for you! You feel so gently, idealistic about life, every time you pass by a mirror you look to see if angel wings are sprouting from your shoulders. You're in love with the world! In fact, you're not only in love with the world -- you want to save it before bedtime. Flip comments aside, that's a wonderful attitude. If you feel this way to others, you can certainly be gentle with yourself. And vice versa. Everything is not sweetness and light, however. Your day-to-day schedule is shattered. Muster all the patience you can to deal with your ordinary, day-to-day activities. A mild anxiety building up within you as you try to tackle ordinary tasks could make you accident-prone. (Not good.) Especially driving and walking. (Floss carefully.)
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
An old friend might try to put the touch on you. Perhaps it's somebody who is in dire straits. Naturally you want to help, but on the other hand, you're not a pushover or a doormat. (Sometimes you're a fluffy pillow but that's private talk.) There's no question that your idealism is aroused right now about something. And considering how idealistic and tenderhearted you are all the time -- this means you're really concerned about someone or something. Conflict with a friend or group about how to spend money (or possibly over a possession) is possible now. You're definitely dealing with people from your past and this could be stressful. A good rule of thumb is to imagine how you'll feel afterwards. If you act with discipline - you'll have no regrets. (Things are always darker before they get pitch black.)
