Aries (March 21-April 19)
This is a good time to explain something to somebody; to clarify issues. It's not only a good time for you to voice your opinions and share your ideas; you actually need feedback from others now. You need another person's response to help you get a clear perspective of your own thoughts. You want to help somebody. That's for sure. And possibly the reason you need some feedback on this impulse is a family member or somebody else in your personal world is critical of your idea. Never miss an opportunity to practice kindness; and never suppress a great impulse because smaller minds disagree. "To bear the ring of power -- one must be alone." (This could be hobbit forming.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Your focus is on your health and your work right now. You desperately want to be better organized. You're turning the place upside down to achieve this. You want to file, sort, paint, clean and make everything tickety boo. Your imagination is in overdrive as well. Exotic, mystical subjects appeal to you. Not only that, you're actually able to plug into a spiritual realm that transcends logic and rational intellect. You're guided by your intuition now. This is beyond flying on instruments -- you're flying by the seat of your pants. That's why an organized environment gives you a feeling of security. You know you're not all over the map. You're just exploring.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You feel unusually playful and prankish. You want to have fun. (Needless to say, since you're just a big kid this is an excellent time to enjoy playful activities with children.) Those of you who work in the hospitality industry, show business and the entertainment world are full of fabulous ideas right now. In a way, this playful urge extends to romance as well. What you really want is a fabulous vacation with a sexy lover. You're a serial monogamist. You love an adoring peanut gallery. "Keep those cards and letters coming, folks." You believe variety is the spice of life, and yet ironically, no one more than you is looking for their soul mate. You need somebody else to "complete" you. (Especially the left side.)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
It's thumb sucking time. You need to retreat to your home where you can curl up in a prenatal position and turn your electric blanket up to nine. You're very sensitive, and yet you can go out into the world and conquer great things. But to do so, you need a warm, safe haven in your private life you can rely on. A refuge. (Preferably with a paid-up mortgage.) If you don't give yourself this, you feel too loosey-goosey out in the world. Discussions with family are important. This year and next are benchmark years and this makes you want to get the wagons in a circle and put the women and children in the middle. You need to withdraw somewhere with a phoneless cord to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Your schedule is so busy! Short trips, meetings, conversations and tons of decisions about buying and selling and sorting things out keep you hopping. Let's face it -- your hair's on fire. An increased focus on siblings and neighbors is likely as well. Because you're running around with an outboard motor on your ass, it's especially important that you're clear in all your communications. Make sure that others understand you. Assume nothing. Even though you have a strong urge to talk, talk, talk -- make sure you listen, too. What you're really trying to establish is a connection with someone. Plus you're shopping a lot. (It's expensive buying things you don't need because they're on sale.)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Have you noticed that money isn't what it used be? And why is there are always so much month left at the end of the money? You're thinking about making important purchases with whatever cash or credit you can get your hands on. Because you have a logical mind, your impulse is to establish greater control over your life through your possessions. You might even try to control others as well. What you're really trying to do is assert your own values. And at its deepest level, this is all about having rights -- the right to own something; the right to spend money the way you want. And the right to go into debt. (groan) Am I right?
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Even though the Sun and Mercury are in your sign now (making it your "special" time of the year) your closest relationships might be troubled. In part, this is because you're determined to express your own needs and wants. This is good. But your focus can be so self-concerned that you fail to see the impact you have on others. That's why working with others might be difficult now. Nevertheless, your focus on yourself is justified. You have a real need to look at yourself now to find out what you need to promote your own happiness. You're dabbling in spiritual waters. You're searching for meaning wherever you can find it. You don't need to be rich -- you just want to be able to get the couch re-upholstered.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
A lot of Scorpios are cranked for Halloween. You like to figure out who's behind the mask. The vampire and fangs bit intrigues you as well. (Dare we say it's in your blood?) Ironically, this is also a time when you want to be reclusive and more hidden than usual. It all fits. Mystical and spirits subjects fascinate you, and you enjoy studying art, poetry and music. You're working towards an important culmination in your career in 2005 - 06. You can feel it. That's why you are so easily excited about things. Each new turn in the road might take you in an important direction. You agree with T. S. Eliot: Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You're thinking a lot about how you fit into "the group". Groucho Marx said he didn't want to be in any club that was willing to have him as a member. In your own way, you too, are examining your attitude to a group. You want to know whether or not this group ties in with your goals and expectations in life. Is there a fit? This is an important issue. The people you hang out with enormously influence you because they affect your mind and how you make your decisions. And your decisions shape your life. That's why your friends literally affect your future. Younger people might give you a new slant on things. (Just remember: never argue with someone if they're tired -- or rested.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
In many ways you're in the driver's seat right now. People are impressed with you and you're probably in the public eye more than usual. That's why this is a great time to talk to bosses and important people. Tell them how good you are. Tell them how vital you are to the operation. Tell them a raise or promotion would please you. (hee hee) You have vision now. Ideas come to you right out of the ether. The only downside is that conversations with partners give you pause. (Little furry ones.) Don't worry about what others say or think. (You know how you can be about this.) Relationships that have outlived their usefulness will end now. You've had a taste of power and you like it. Especially with a little mint jelly.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Your focus is totally on university matters, higher education, publishing and travel or dealing with foreign countries. Your bottom-line impulse is that you want to learn more about anything now. You want to discover more about the world. You want to broaden your horizons. In fact, you're unusually open to different ways of living. You're checking out lifestyles. (The ones for the Rich and Famous look interesting.) Your ruler Uranus has been in your sign since 1996. It leaves the last day of this year (December 31). This has been a revolutionary time in your life. You've certainly changed your way of handling your world. It's been upsetting, but the upside is that you broke free from self-imposed limitations. Don't be afraid of change. Welcome it. And look for it under sofa cushions -- wherever.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Like Scorpio, you're into the Halloween thing. You love costumes, fantasy and illusion. You also feel quite intensely about life right now. (In fact, because your gonads are in overdrive you feel downright sexy.) The bottom line is that you're looking for the bottom-line. You're not concerned with superficial trivialities. You want to get to the meat of the issue. Your ability to do research and look inward at important, psychological issues is quite profound now. You're doing some deep thinking. Tackle boring red tape details about insurance matters, joint property, estates and inheritances. Get them out of the way. Be patient with children and lovers later in the week. (Don't confuse your career with your life.)
