All Signs
Three planets change signs this week. The Sun moves into Taurus, Venus moves into Aries, and Mars moves into Aquarius. Stuff is happening! That's not all: Mercury goes retrograde on Saturday April 26th and stays that way until May 20th. Yup -- that again! Start what you can in the next few days, because during the retrograde period, it's better to finish than to begin. (It's also a poor time to buy ground transportation.) This is a strange time of beginnings and endings. One could say it's all sixes and sevens. Or as Steven Wright puts it: "I wear my heart on my sleeve. I wear my liver, on my pant leg."
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Lots of changes! Tension with a friend might surface. (Be understanding.) Personally however, you have more energy for group activities and pursuing your goals. With fair Venus now in your sign, you have a stronger desire to relate to others. Pleasure definitely ranks above work. Make time to enjoy friends and vacations if you can. One thing is certain: you want to have greater control over your life through your money and what you own. You feel proud of your yourself and your possessions. You feel they define you to yourself and others. This is a good time to throw a party and show off your stuff to the gang. Good times are a source of pleasure to you now.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This is a powerful time for you because the Sun has just moved into Taurus and Mars is now at high noon in your chart. You feel empowered, energized and ambitious. And this is exactly how you should feel right now! It's the perfect time to go after whatever you want. (The gods are smiling on you.) Try to work on something where you get credit for what you do. Your competitive nature is aroused, and if you do a good job -- you want the applause. Actually, you're so assertive, co-workers might feel threatened by your ambition. Therefore, try to make your success the success of others -- so you can get everyone on your side. (Then you can take all the credit later.)
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is the perfect time for a quiet getaway or a little retreat, partly because you need rest and relaxation; and partly because you need a change of scenery. You're running into old friends and some of them might want to bunk on your sofa. (More reason to leave town.) As usual, you are of two minds. You feel friendly, sociable and ready to schmooze; yet you really want to stay in the background and keep a low profile. Do something to satisfy your urge to learn more. You're hungry for knowledge. (Nachos with guacamole on the side is nice, too.) Your beliefs and ideas are so important you're prepared to defend them.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Holy Rolodex! People are coming out of the woodwork. Do you think they expect you to cook? That's the problem with knowing your way around a kitchen. (Most people think cleaning up after dinner means getting the fast food garbage out of the back seat of the car.) You might disagree with someone about how to spend a limited amount of money. Passionately, you feel very intense this month. You want to be romantically transformed! Keep in mind this as a pretty tall order. New love that begins now could be with someone older or more established. Perhaps a mentor figure. You easily impress people in the next four weeks. (Even if you don't cook.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
With the Sun at high noon in your chart, you are noticed! Buy some new duds so you feel great. You're the center of attention, so you might as well do it with class. You easily handle lots of responsibilities now. Because of the limelight factor, you're thinking about your future. Plus you feel a strong attraction to people from other cultures and backgrounds. A change of scenery feels like a vacation. It also takes the pressure off tension with a partner or close friend. Remember that understanding and love are not two things -- they're one. Thich Nhat Hanh said, "When you understand, you love. And when you love, you naturally act in a way that can relieve the suffering of people."
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This is a wonderful time for a vacation -- especially a romantic, passionate adventure. (Think Shirley Valentine.) You want to get away from all this. You want a life that makes good diary entries. You might not let yourself have this pleasure because you're also gung ho to work hard now as well. What's it going to be? You can't suck and blow at the same time. Plans for advanced education, media involvement, publishing opportunities and legal matters demand your attention. Nevertheless, you are an Earth sign and all Earth signs are ardent. Work if you must, but if you have to start tilting your head sideways to smile - run away. Flee!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
The three-way shift of planets definitely sparks your chart. Love and romance look hot. You feel playful, saucy, flirtatious and ready for some serious action. Old partners also appear on the scene. Who knows where this can lead? Venus directly opposite your sign promotes good times and attracts friendships and seduction. That's why you're feeling so amorous. In fact, your passion could grab you by the throat so fast you throw caution to the wind. You don't care who knows and who's talking. (Actually, later you will -- but later is later and this is now.) That's okay -- grab love where you find it.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You need more rest than usual. The Sun is directly opposite your sign tugging at your energy rather than energizing it. On top of that, increased chaos or tension at home because of changes in your domestic situation demand your patience. Retrograde Mercury creates more than a few glitches at work as well. Delays, confused communications, lost papers and forgotten info delay your progress. Nevertheless, co-workers are supportive and cooperative. Somebody might even bring in home baking. (Don't you love that?) Use the energy building up at home to get stuff done. The energy floating around at home will turn negative or positive. Use it to accomplish things. (Avoid arguments with parents.)
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You're normally quite casual about things. But in the next few weeks, you'll want everything to be Virgo tickety boo. (I think, therefore, I clean.) You have a lot to do now, and you know that if you're organized, you can be more efficient and effective in getting it done. But you're right -- the key to it all is organization. Everything must have its own place. (By organized I mean more than having multiple coloured Post-it notes.) Yet you still want time to party -- and romance looks great. Plus short trips, buying and selling, and wheeling and dealing are on the table as well. Can you do it all? You always do! (Be prepared to run into some old flames.) Sparks could fly.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You're prepared to shell out some cash to have a good time. It's all relative -- but you'll spend the dough. This is a fabulous time for a vacation if you can pull it off. You want to put your own interests first now, because you want to play! Entertaining at home really appeals this month. (And it's a wonderful incentive to clean up the place to make it look inviting.) Expect to shop for family members, children and objects d'art for where you live. (Those are chotskies that cost more.) Old family stuff comes up now. This could be pleasant or draining; but either way, it's the perfect time to let loved ones know how much you care for them. (Why miss this opportunity if you have the impulse?)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
You want to withdraw to enjoy your privacy and to contemplate your past. Your focus on your private life and your domestic world is strong. But fiery Mars in your sign makes you aggressive and assertive. You might come on too strong for others. Fortunately, fair Venus has an ameliorating influence on your communication style. It promotes good feelings with neighbors and relatives (especially siblings.) On the other hand, (Fiddler on the Roof?) retrograde Mercury brings you delays in transportation, car problems and communication breakdowns. Pay your phone bill; and remember: if it first you don't succeed, skydiving's not for you.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
The next few weeks are unusually busy with short trips, errands, conversations plus increased reading and writing. In addition to this, you can't resist buying beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. Be careful what you buy from April 26 to May 20. Avoid purchasing cars, trucks, computers, printers, answering machines, and binoculars with self-contained integrated infrared systems. The current movement of Mars can trigger behavior patterns (little self-defeating acts.) that you aren't aware of. If you hesitate to say or do something -- listen to your gut. (Did you know that the origin of the word scruples is "to hesitate".)
