You were born 50 years ahead of your time. That's why you are so modern and cutting-edge! You love aviation, rocket technology, astronomy and astrology. (Many of you are pilots.) You're into electronics, which is why many of you are also wizards and geeks. You like gadgets, new inventions, experimenting and pushing the edge. You don't fit in and you're fine with that. Hey, you want to be free to do your own thing! You lobby for social reform because you want to make the world a better place. What matters? The environment, world peace, free water, net neutrality, Star Trek and peanut butter! (Crunchy.) And hello? Genius guy? Duh? You're an Air sign! Don't be fooled by your symbol the Water Carrier. Everybody's Got a Past
In the early 90s, you began a new path in life; and by 1994-95, opportunities to boost your good name came your way because your reputation was stellar. Between 1996 and 1999, many of you changed residences and jobs because you were on the move. Fortunately, by the end of the 90s, your financial scene improved.
At the turn of the millennium, your primary focus was to solidify your home base and secure something for yourself and your family. (In fact, that was an excellent time to invest in real estate.) Many of you expanded your family through marriage, birth or adoption at that time. Partnerships were supportive in 2003; however, during 2006-09, they were challenged! (Whaaat?) Nevertheless, your career started to take off.
Lucky Jupiter was in your sign in 2009, which lifted your spirits and brought you good fortune, followed by a boost to your earnings in 2010-11. Once again, many of you improved your home and real-estate scene around 2012, which felt good. By 2013, you entered a three-year window, which was a time of harvest for you. You felt proud of the direction your life was taking. In fact, partnerships were supportive in 2015, which incidentally, was an excellent year to get married.
Last year, travel was rewarding. Many of you also expanded your world through further training and education. You like to know stuff.

Money, Job, Status
Well, it's easy to predict what's happening for you this year because this is one of the few years in your adult life when lucky Jupiter will be crossing the top of your chart. The last time this happened was in 2006 and the next time it will happen will be in 2030. Because this kind of blessing comes along only once every 12 years -- make the most of it! (Ya think?)
Wherever Jupiter is in your chart, it expands and magnifies your opportunities and your involvement with whatever that part of your chart symbolizes. The top of your chart is all about your career, your professional reputation and your standing among your peers.
This means that three or four times in your adult working career, Jupiter will give you enormous opportunities to move ahead in your profession. It calls attention to you! People will admire you! It's a time of kudos, acknowledgements and promotions! Something will occur that gives you public recognition and the esteem of others. Hey, connect the dots! This is obviously a great year for your job and your standing in your community. You will be more confident. Many of you will have more work-related travel. You will be more involved dealing with foreign countries and people from other cultures and different backgrounds.
You will also have more authority. There is one exception: Some of you will use this blessing to switch careers to a field of work involving medicine, healing, the law, higher education or travel. If this is a case, then you can't expect the same recognition or promotion.
You are also approaching a time when you are going to downsize and dismantle much of what you created since 2005. This means that some of you will get such a stellar promotion, you will leave behind your home, your job and maybe even your country to go to something new and dazzling that offers you greater opportunities. So at this time of success, you are also letting things go. A bit of a contradiction, isn't it?
All Your Relationships
Relationships will be tricky this year. In one way, there will be a very positive influence on all your relationships simply because you appear to be so successful. When others admire you, those who are close to you will see you with eyes of admiration.
However, fiery Mars will be in your sign for much of this year (moving back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius) and this makes you aggressive! Obviously, your energy and aggression will help you in your career; but this can also make you overbearing in personal relationships and partnerships. You may think everything is fine - but your partner might not agree!
Your energy level will be high and there will be lots of activity in your life. Plus you will be much more of a fighter for your rights than usual. For the most part, this is a positive influence; but again, remember that you might come on too strong and alienate others. Therefore, be self aware. If you want people to really hear you - whisper. You don't have to yell.
There is also the real consideration that you will start to let go of people, places, relationships, jobs and possessions. This is inevitable. It will impact your close friendships and partnerships. If you are planning to leave a partnership, the handwriting is on the wall. However, most of you will not leave your partnerships; and will have to work with the change of "letting go" together in conjunction with someone else.
That's why this is a tricky year, even though many opportunities are coming your way. Be gentle. Be patient. And stop putting slinkies on escalators.
Home and Family
There are three significant influences that will impact your family life this year. The first is obvious: Your family will be happy for your professional success and your winning reputation among your peers that will take place this year. Since happiness and enthusiasm are contagious, this means if you're happy, family members will feel happier as well!
The second influence is the fact that the planet Mars will be in your sign much more this year. Mars is usually in your sign for about six weeks once every two years. However, in 2018, it will be in your sign for over five months! (Gasp.) For the most part, this gives you heightened physical energy! Yes, it's a good thing! The energy of Mars will help you to direct and work on family projects and repairs and any physical activities required by your family and your home. This will be a blessing! However, some family members might feel you are too bossy and coming on too strong, and this might also be true! This means you have to be aware and mindful of your style of relating to others. Ya think?
The third influence is more subtle but tangible and real. I refer to the fact that you are now entering three-year window when you will start downsizing and letting go of what is no longer relevant in your life. Initially, you might notice that you are going through closets, garages and storage spaces getting rid of stuff. You might sell, recycle or turf things you don't need. But as this energy builds, you will also consider bigger decisions that might involve a change of jobs, a change of residence or a change of your community, city or country! This latter influence will occur over the next few years, and it will affect family relations. Sounds like it's time to play that country song backwards: "My truck just started, my dog came back and my true love's in my bed!"

Your ambition is aroused this month, as well it should be while lucky Jupiter is crossing the top of your chart making you look so good in the eyes of others, especially bosses, parents and VIPs. ("We love you!") However, even though you will be busy hanging out with younger friends and younger people; on the whole, this is a low-key month for you. You will choose to begin this New Year on a quiet note, preferably working alone or behind the scenes. In fact, some of you might be dabbling in a secret love affair. (Oh my.)

Dear Aquarius, it's all about you this month. You will be talkative and eager to share your ideas with others with Mercury in your sign. You will be active with clubs, groups and associations. Perhaps you might be in competition with someone? This month you really shine because now the Sun is at the top of your chart. This acts like a spotlight on you and makes you look great in the eyes of others, especially bosses and VIPs. A Sneak Peek Beyond
In 2020, lucky Jupiter will be in your sign bringing you good fortune and opportunities to explore a new future. It is also an indication that you are beginning a new 12-year cycle of growth. Time to let out another pleat in the shower curtain?

Mercury Retrograde in 2018
Mercury retrograde occurs three times a year. This is when Mercury appears to go backwards in relation to planet Earth. (In reality Mercury always moves forward.) During these so-called retrograde times, the areas that Mercury has domain over inexplicably suffer from errors and delays. The errors are small but frustrating!
Mercury has domain over everything that moves forward:
- all forms of ground transportation, (cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, buses, taxis, trains)
- the mail, parcels, packages (Post Office plus Courier and Delivery Services)
- communications - email, social media, phone calls, conversations
- it also includes daily living (the people we encounter, the items we deal with, the transactions we make and how we relate to others.)
During Mercury retrograde, all the areas under the domain of Mercury tend to go "backwards." They certainly have trouble going forwards. We can expect transportation delays, missed buses and car breakdowns. Mail will be late or lost, daily items that we handle like keys and papers will be misplaced; and communications with others will be confused and misunderstood. Plus people from our past will pop up into our lives. ("Boris?" "Natasha!")
However, we can make good use of Mercury retrograde times to finish things, study the past, do research and reflect. But do not open a business or begin new projects. Mercury retrograde is also a bad time to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.
The dates below are the actual retrograde dates plus the buffer times. This is because Mercury starts to slow down before it goes retrograde. Then afterwards, it needs more time to catch up to where it was at when it first went retrograde.
The craziness (delays and errors) is most pronounced during the actual retrograde time. However, if you are buying a big ticket item like a car or a computer, I recommend that you play it safe and avoid these purchases during the buffer times as well. You'll be glad you did.
