Aries Forecast for 2011

Introduction to Annual Forecasts for 2011
Pluto is in Capricorn. It has been in Capricorn since November of 2008. Before that, the last time Pluto was in Capricorn was in the mid 1700s. Hey - that was when we had the Industrial Revolution, the American Revolution, and the French Revolution. Verrrrry interesting. In astrology, Pluto has rulership over countries, and Capricorn rules the government. That's why when Pluto returned to Capricorn in November of 2008, it was easy to predict President Obama would be elected because that was a revolutionary event! The first Afro-American President of the United States.
This year, in 2011, the next two outer planets will change signs. Neptune moves into Pisces (the very sign it rules) and Uranus moves into Aries.
Do we care?
Well, the last time Neptune was in Pisces was between 1848 - 1862. And the last time Uranus was in Aries was 1927-1935. (Tough times for many people!) However, the last time that both planets shared the signs they are moving into this year was from 1848 to 1851. Holy French fries! Those dates coincide with the great potato famine in Ireland. Does this mean we're heading into a famine? Sadly, in some places, I fear the answer is yes. Fortunately, in June this year, Jupiter the planet of wealth is moving into Taurus, the sign of tangible wealth and banks. This will bring some positive juice to financial institutions.
We are definitely entering a decade where fire hazards will be more harsh than usual. Uranus rules explosions and unpredictable events, and Aries is a feisty Fire Sign! Do yourself a favour and buy a fire extinguisher. (I did. It cost $30.) Install smoke detectors. Keep cooking areas and stoves clean. Make sure your microwave vents can "breathe." Be smart with heaters, and don't use ordinary extension cords for them. Check electrical cords and get rid of old frayed stuff. And never smoke in bed. In just one year, when Uranus was in Aries during 1845, 1000 buildings burned in a Pittsburgh fire; 1500 houses burned in Quebec fire; 1000 homes burned in New York city fire, 1600 were killed in a theatre fire in Canton, China.
Not only are fire hazards on the increase, but fiery revolutions are more likely to take place as well. Yes, the natives are getting restless. "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
We will start to see new patents for new inventions, especially related to drugs, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, gas, oil, and the film industry. The explosive quality of Uranus in Aries is very creative and exploratory!
The last time that both Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Aries occurred, we had gold rushes. "Go West, young man, go West!" Indeed, with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and wealth moving into Taurus, the sign associated with tangible wealth and banks, we can expect the economy to look richer in some way after the summer. About time!

Who Doesn't Have a Past?
About 30 years ago (hey -- haven't you heard? Fifty is the new forty!) relationships were stretched to the max. Many of them bit the dust. Fortunately, about 20 years ago (1989-91) you were looking hot! You felt proud of your achievements.
It was clear sailing until the mid 90s, when you gave up people, places, and possessions. That's because you were gearing up to start a whole new ball game around 1996-97. Things were so new and different then, many of you changed your daily wardrobe. It was a new scene and marvellous opportunities were at hand. Plus your popularity rating was growing. (Kiss, kiss, hug, hug.)
In 1999, your confidence got a boost, which helped a window around 2001-03 when you had to face job changes or residential moves, or both. (Oy vey.)
By 2003-04, you were determined to establish a strong home base. Family dynamics were changing, but something in your job was thankfully sweet then.
All this led to a lot of hard work following 2008. But what a popular year! You were loved!
Reality Check for 2011
You've been busting your buns! The last year has been overwhelming. But you're not a quitter. Sure, you move on from projects when you're bored, especially if something new and exciting beckons -- that's different. But you don't throw in the towel. (It's more your style to throw down a glove. "Pistols at dawn!")
Essentially, right now is a major turning point for you. If you look back, you see you gave up a lot in the mid-90s, you reinvented yourself from 1996 to 2004, creating the New You, and since then, you've been trying to show the world what the New You can do!
That's why this year will be Your Hour. It's as if you've been under the table for the last 15 years, trying to figure it all out, and now this year (perhaps next year for Aries who are born later) you're going to jump on top of the table and yell. "Hello world! I'm in the game. Count me -- I'm a player!"
From this point on, you will work steadily toward a career peak when you achieve your cherished dreams around 2018.

Career and Reputation in 2011
There's no question this is one of those years that will stand out in your memory for the rest of your life. It's the proverbial turning point. Essentially, you are taking your powah! (You betcha.) Now here is the weird part: You're discouraged! (Whaaat?) You're in a 29-year low in terms of energy and confidence. You feel physically tired this year. (Get rest and don't push the sides of the envelope.) You might even start to feel old. Horrors! Don't worry, this feeling will disappear in the future (especially with a little Botox). This world-weariness and the feeling that someone or something is blocking you is par for the course.
Fear not! Your low energy, and loss of confidence, and feeling of being thwarted by others are the very things that will make you climb out from underneath the table and jump on top!
Your attention will start to focus much more on your outer world. You'll have that feeling you've been preparing for something and this is it! Basically, your ability to handle confrontations is being tested. Since others are watching you now, it's important to make sure you fulfill your obligations. Put your money where your mouth is. Well, not literally because you'll look funny -- and who wants to swallow a Toonie?
Relationships Close (and Closer) in 2011
I'm not going to sugarcoat this. This is a tough time for partnerships. Bummer! One of the reasons for this is you're getting stronger (even though you don't feel like it). Consequently, you're asserting your own power more. This means you're upsetting the existing balance you've established in close friendships and partnerships, and they don't like it! These guys want you to go back to being the way you were. Duh? No way! (The e-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.) Sure, you're willing to work to make changes so that a worthwhile relationship will endure. (Because a relationship that is meant to last will endure.) However, relationships that are more trouble than they're worth will be history in the next 18 months (if not already). No question.
You're getting ready to clear the decks. That's what's so fatiguing. You know you're moving on and you're not going to carry any more dead weight.
Money in 2011 (the Folding Kind)
Here's some comforting news. Partnerships might be in the toilet, but the room service looks swell. In the next 18 months, you're entering one of the best times to boost your earnings since 1999-2001. (Feel cold? Wrap yourself in cash.) This might occur because you get a raise, or a better job, or your self-employed business gets better, or you figure out a way to make some money on the side -- or you discover a whole new money stream! Think positive. Be on the lookout for ways to make more money because they totally exist for you this year and into 2012 as well. Actually, it makes sense since you are finally jumping on top of the table, doesn't it? Go Aries!
The Fast Track for Improvement in 2011
You do things quickly (sometimes slapdash). You attack new projects with zeal. You figure if you can't fly, then climb. At this moment, for the first time in your life, Pluto is square your sign.
This dance will last for more than a decade and will test your self-control to get ahead. Pluto has a way of bringing the most ruthless qualities of anyone to the surface. Not a pretty picture. It can also attract heavy-duty power trippers right into your face!
The best way to handle this energy is to introduce improvements into the world around you. Do renovations. Fix up the place. Get rid of garbage, decay, and structures that are beyond repair. (Yup, some of the structures might be partnerships.)

Mercury Retrograde in 2011
You can use Mercury retrograde times or be abused by them. What's it gonna be?
(Of course, Mercury never really goes backwards. This is just "relative" to planet Earth.)
The bad news: The dates below are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones. Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. Charge your cell phone. Pay your phone bill. Keep gas in the car and a working flashlight. Smile a lot. Buy fresh flowers and dark chocolate.
The good news: The dates below are good times to tackle repairs. Clean out closets, drawers, desks and cupboards. Finish projects. Do research into the past. Study anything. Contact people from your past. Re-apply for a job. Try to get something you wanted before that fell through. Try once again! Organize old photographs. Finish that "To Do" list. These things will go surprisingly smooth!
