Aries (March 21-April 19)
If you want to initiate projects related to your long-term goals or groups you might work with, do so in January because the month of February (and well into March) is when things slow down or grind to a halt. Act now.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Mercury has just entered Aquarius where it will stay until mid-March. This long stretch is because it will go retrograde for the month of February. If there is an important project you want to present to a boss or authority figures - do it now.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
We have the first Mercury retrograde of the year looming ahead in February, which means now is the time to make travel plans. (In January.) The month of February will be assailed by travel delays and confusion. Ditto for publishing, higher education, medicine and the law.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Your ruler Mercury is going to be retrograde in February. In fact, the shadow side of it continues until March 20. Therefore, in the next few weeks if there is something you wanted to kick off or begin - do it. February will be a great time to finish red-tape details with taxes, shared property and inheritances.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Because Mercury will be retrograde directly opposite your sign for the month of February, you can expect to run into ex-partners and old friends during this time and even sooner. If you need to initiate important business, do so in the next few weeks.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Because retrograde Mercury will cause minor havoc to your daily work through mixed-up communications, lost paperwork, delayed deliveries and goofy errors, try to get as much done as you can in the next two weeks. Forewarned is forearmed.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
If you want to initiate creative projects, or book things regarding the arts, the entertainment world, vacations, and anything to do with the hospitality industry - do so in the next two weeks. After that Mercury retrograde will play havoc with your plans for the month of February.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
If you need to start a family business or make major changes to a family business or even your home, begin to do this in the next two weeks. Mercury will be retrograde in February and its shadow well into March, which is a poor time to begin new projects.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
When Mercury goes retrograde in February, it will create transportation delays for you and communication mix-ups. Therefore, if you want to initiate something or travel, do it in January to maximize your chances for success.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
When it comes to money, finances and cash flow, if you are starting something new (including a job) you are advised to do that in January, or wait until after mid-March. In the interim, Mercury will be retrograde causing delays and late cheques in the mail. (Dontcha love it?)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Mercury has just entered your sign to stay until mid-March. (It usually stays for about three weeks.) This means it's going retrograde for the month of February, which will create delays, silly errors, confused communications as well as attract ex-partners and people from your past. If there is something you want to begin - do it before February.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
For some signs, the impending Mercury retrograde looks like a pain in the neck. But for you, it will help you to do research and seek out elusive solutions, especially to old problems. Nevertheless, if you want to begin something, do it in January.
