Moon Alert

Not until 1:15 p.m. EST today do we have the "all clear" to do business and make important decisions. After that the Moon moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today is almost as difficult as yesterday, but slightly better. You would be foolish to pick a quarrel with an authority figure like your boss or parent because things will turn nasty in a New York minute. Try not to react if someone is critical of you or tries to make you over.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Steer clear of controversial subjects like politics, religion and racial issues. Someone is really on the rant today, but the more people yell, the less others listen. In fact, if you really want someone to listen to you - whisper.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Difficulties about shared possessions, taxes, debt, inheritances or how to share expenses regarding children are still creating problems. This is not a good day to find solutions. Stop the discussions for now. Wait until next year, which is only a day away.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Because domestic arguments and difficulties with partners are par for the course right now, what can you do to smooth over these troubled waters? If things are really difficult, avoid someone. At least, wait a day or two to talk about contentious issues.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Even if you have bright ideas about how to improve things at work, wait until tomorrow or the next day to speak up. People will resist what you say today because everyone is stuck in their own point of view right now. It's a mental rigidity hanging onto the remains of the year.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Lovers' quarrels, especially about money and possessions, might happen today. This is a tricky day. Everyone thinks they're supposed to go out and have fun but there's something forced and desperate about it, isn't there? "We have to have fun, or else!"

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Discussions with family members are rife with difficulties and squabbles today. (It's a bad imitation of yesterday.) Your only choice is to cut others some slack. Don't expect too much of anyone and don't be critical or demanding. Tomorrow is a much better day. (Hang in there.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Others and perhaps you are entrenched in their point of view today. People are almost like a stuck record. This makes co-operation and easy-going discussions very difficult. It's also tiresome. It's hard to come up with some winning ideas. (Hindenburg, Titanic, Edsel -- sigh.)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Keep things light when talking to others in groups today even though you will be tempted to compete or get the last word. Everyone is into one-upmanship today. This might particularly applied to financial wheeling and dealing, cash flow or discussing money and possessions. Stay chill.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Don't get your belly in a rash talking to authority figures. Your obsession about something could make you lose ground, which is the opposite of what you intend to do. Actually, your best choice is to postpone this discussion until tomorrow.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

There's an angry, stubborn undercurrent to a lot of discussions today. However, you can use that energy to do research. In other words, take that energy and turn it in on itself. Don't get hung up on who is right or what is best. Invariably, these things are relative.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Intense discussions with others, probably in groups, about how to share something or wisely use it could go round and round today. Don't let someone just grab the baton and run. Suggest these discussions take place tomorrow or another day.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Musician Burton Cummings (1947) shares your birthday today. You have a natural appreciation for beauty and everything that is tasteful. Personally, you like to be well-groomed so that you portray an attractive image. You are always practical and, although often successful, your goals are modest. You're appreciative of what you have. This year a major change will take place, perhaps as significant as what occurred around 2005.
