Aries (March 21-April 19)
Although yesterday was an upbeat, friendly day, today relations with others are disrupted, standoffish or stiff. This could be because there's a tendency to look on the dark side of things today. That proverbial glass of water is half-empty. (Hey, this still means it's half-full.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Yesterday's great vibes at work seem to have evaporated. Perhaps an authority figure has put the kibosh on something. (Humbug!) Or it could even be that old self-fulfilling prophecy where you expect things to go wrong and they do! Fortunately, it's peanuts. Truly. Relax.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You might feel disappointed in a friend today or some kind of social situation. What you expected to be fun seems to be more of a drag. These things can happen. (Into every life a little hard butter must fall.) Romance is in the toilet and relationships with children seem to be a big responsibility. Oy vey.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This is not an ideal day to ask for permission for anything from an authority figure: parent, boss, teacher or the police. Their response will likely be, "Talk to the hand." Knowing this ahead of time (because you have cleverly read this column at breakfast) you won't make this boo-boo, will you?
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Travel plans or publishing and the media or even matters related to medicine and the law are disappointing today. Whatever you hope to achieve might be squelched by someone. Even though circumstances might rain on your parade, be reassured this is temporary.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
You might be disappointed with discussions about how to share something today. ("Hey, no fair! I got the short end of the stick.") That's why this is not an ideal day for negotiations about inheritances, shared property, insurance matters or anything you own jointly with others. Just ride it out.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Relations with partners and close friends are frankly stiff today. In fact, you might feel lonely or cut off from others. ("Nobody loves me.") Don't get depressed because a lot of people feel this way today. ("Nobody loves us.") What about colour-co-ordinated jackets?
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Your best bet at work today is to choose routine drudgery tasks because you kinda feel sorry for yourself anyway. Don't let others bum you out. ("Don't harsh my buzz, man.") And don't take criticisms from authority figures personally.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Some days are upbeat, easy-going and fun. But this isn't one of them. Just persevere, even though relations with kids are challenging and romantic partners seem aloof. Sports events might be disappointing as well. (Work is the curse of the drinking class.)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This is not a good day for important discussions with parents or older relatives. People are quick to point out why you can't do something instead of encouraging you. Resist falling into this negative mindset. (Wear water wings and stay away from the deep end.)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
It's easy to fall into negative thinking today. And while we all know the power of positive thinking, who's perfect? Be accepting. Today is Veni vidi Velcro: "I came, I saw, I stuck around."
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
