Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 5:15 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. EST today. After that the Moon moves from Gemini Cancer.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today has its pitfalls, specifically with family members, parents, and anything going on at home. People are inclined to rub each other the wrong way. Discussions with parents and older relatives are discouraging. It's too easy to be critical of each other today. Oy vey! (Hide.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

It's easy to fall into a pattern of negative thinking today. Not only is your glass half empty, it's dirty, and it's cracked. And you're not sure about the water, either. Discussions with relatives and siblings will probably be a bummer. Therefore, give it all break. Tomorrow is a much better day!

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Your financial scene looks skimpy and disappointing. Earnings seem to be less. (Or nonexistent!) This is one of those days where there is too much month left at the end of the money. The thing to know is that this is a fleeting depression. (The Moon is squelched by Saturn.) Over very quickly.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Today you might be discouraged by a number of things. It's easy to feel lonely and cut off from others. You have that feeling that nobody loves you. However, please be reassured because this is just a very temporary situation. Tomorrow things are completely different.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

It's easy to be the victim of internal negativism today. Once this starts, everything around you looks worse than it is. It's as if you're looking through the wrong end of the telescope. Don't fall into this trap. And don't be down on yourself today. Tant pis!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

A friend might be disappointing today. Or your relationship with a group, or club, or a particular meeting, might be sort of a bummer. It leaves you with the feeling that you're inadequate or lacking. (And you certainly know they are!) All of this is just negative thinking, which is par for the course today.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Be cautious in your dealings with the outside world, especially bosses, parents, teachers, and VIPs. Some kind of slipup or error might suddenly be public that makes you wince with embarrassment or regret. Aaaaggghh. Just let it go. Tomorrow is a better day.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Disappointments with travel plans, higher education, as well as publishing, the media, medicine, and the law are likely today. Somebody could really rain on your parade. Don't give up. Things are not as bad as they seem. (It's just one of those days.)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Your share of something might be disappointing. Or perhaps the posse is after you today. Pay up or else! Don't let this get you down because a positive attitude is important for Sagittarius. Definitely! Anyhow, tomorrow is a much better day. Believe me.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Relations with partners and close friends are stiff and cold today. Because of this, you feel withdrawn, and others feel withdrawn, and nobody has their antenna out for special feelings. All these meaningful little signals are lost in the wind. Avoid delicate situations.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Just slog through work today. Some days are fun and easy; some days aren't. Without dark there is no light. Without down there is no up. Without days like today -- how else could you know when you're having a good day?

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Romance is in the toilet today. Don't expect too much from your partner. (You might not be a picnic either.) Social occasions are disappointing. Children and matters related to sports are onerous obligations. Fortunately, this is a fleeting depression! Thank heavens. Time to send out for dark chocolate.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Brendan Fraser (1968) shares your birthday today. You're creative, and are often passionately absorbed with whatever you are creating. You're extremely private, and can become obsessed about your work. You believe you should explore your ideas and use your gifted talents, often to the exclusion of other things. In the next year you will wrap up or finish something you've been involved with for the last nine years.
