Moon Alert

We have the All Clear to shop (for anything from a coat to a condo or a company) and make important decisions -- except from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT today. The Moon is in Virgo.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

After all the fun yesterday, you feel a bit like you'd better clean up your act today. (Or at least clean your kitchen sink.) Either way, this is a more sober day. One that calls for sober measures! (That would be half ounces.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Today the responsibilities of children or the practical duties related to sports seem to prey on your mind. You might even feel a bit guilty about something. Because this relates to the Moon, and the Moon moves very quickly -- this is gone by tomorrow!

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Today you're staring at all those things you've been putting off at home or connected with family matters. Oy vey. The best way to deal with them is to deal with them. But sometimes the obvious solution is not what we want. (Run away!)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You might be worried about something today. Conversations with siblings and relatives and casual acquaintances are bits gift or strange. That's because the Moon is lined up with stern Saturn. No big deal. Gone by tomorrow.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Money concerns always take the glow off things for you. You're happy when you've got some loose change to throw around. Today you might feel concerned about money or dealing with your possessions or maintaining them. Do what you can.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You're very serious about your responsibilities today. If you get down to work and do something, you'll feel better. This is the kind of day when your mind is full of "shoulds" or worse yet - "should haves." Lighten up. Tomorrow feels wonderful.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Work alone or behind the scenes today. If possible, work alone. The position of the Moon today makes people feel lonely, depressed and a bit cut off from others. It's a quickly passing thing. Try not to give it an energy. (Buy dark chocolate.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Someone older or more experienced than you might be giving advice today. The problem is you might not particularly want this advice. It's probably easiest to just be polite and listen. It might actually be helpful, you never know. If discussions are restrained with others, don't worry. All will be well by tomorrow.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

It's not easy dealing with parents and authority figures today. Something could occur that makes you feel you're in trouble. Or that others disapprove of you. Relations with women in particular, are difficult. Just coast. Don't try to defend yourself. Don't go looking for trouble.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

People have quite rigid points of view today. They're not open to anything that departs from the tried-and-true party line especially with respect to religion or politics. Therefore avoid arguments about the subject. Don't be discouraged if travel plans look bleak. Tomorrow is a different day!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a lousy day to try to hit up others for a loan. People are tightfisted today. Nobody is in a giving mood. Everybody wants to defend their own turf and property. You might feel like this as well. Fortunately, these feelings are gone by tomorrow.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is a poor day for important discussions of any kind, but most especially, discussions with partners and close friends. The atmosphere is strained and stilted. People are not forthcoming and easy-going. Time to rent a movie.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actress/comedienne Roseanne Barr (1952) shares your birthday today. You're a wise, shrewd observer of the human condition. You don't back down once you set your goals. You work best independently, being your own boss. Because you work hard, you're successful at whatever you attempt. Something you've been involved with for the last nine years might end in the next year, in order to make room for something new to enter.
