Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Don't be discouraged by delays connected with travel, foreign countries, publishing, the media and higher education. This is the kind of day where people tell you why you can't do things. Who needs this? Feelings of loneliness and self-criticism have no basis in reality. Bah! Humbug.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Today you feel broke. (If you saved a little money every day, at the end of a year, you'd be surprised at how little you have!) Wealth is very much in the hands of the beholder. Poor people can feel rich; rich people can feel poor. Mental poverty is rampant.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You might feel isolated, lonely or cut off from close friends today. What you need is some positive thinking to cheer you up. Watch a sitcom, or a comedy movie. Your troubles are more a case of perception than they are reality. (I know it doesn't look that way today.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Don't get your belly in a rash about things at work today. Criticism from bosses is always painful. You need to be adored! Plus people have trouble understanding that you're royalty. (You're actually doing them a favour by simply showing up. Will they never get it?)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Don't be critical with children. People can only be as big as their dreams. If children are squelched in their youth, they will be afraid to set impossible goals. And the only way people do the impossible (and they do) is because no one told them it wasn't possible. Capice?

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is not a good day to talk to bosses, parents and authority figures. People are grumpy and critical. Parents think starving artist is a hyphenated word. The good news is that you can concentrate on details. The bad news is the details are boring.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Negative thinking can hold you back today. The best way to use today's mindset is to do detailed, routine work. You will find that you can plug along at something that would normally make you run screaming from the room.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Optimism and activity make you tick. Today everyone's optimism is down the toilet. It's hard to think like a winner. (When dealing with writers and artists, the way to tell an amateur from a professiona is that the professional throws away her best work.) It was ever thus.

You might have to say goodbye to a loved one today. If you need advice today, seek out someone older, wiser or someone you respect. This is not a frivolous, lighthearted day. It's a day for serious, practical business. (Wear navy blue.)

Although this is sort of a boring day, you can actually get a lot done at work. Serious, mental work that requires a lot of discipline and attention to detail will go well today. Don't expect to discover the law of gravity or where all those lost socks are.

Gloomy thinking is rampant today. You feel like your glass is half-empty. If you think about it, if your drink is stale, half-empty is not such a bad thing. If all the troubles of the world were put in a big pile and you had to pick one. Most would pick their own again.
