The Year 2016

For thousands of years, we have observed cycles: Seasons, lunar revolutions, birth and death. This year we are in a cycle where the planet Saturn is in the zodiac sign Sagittarius from 2015 to 2017. This cycle of Saturn in Sagittarius previously occurred in 1927-29; and 1956-58; and lastly in 1986-88.

The planet Saturn represents discipline, structure, form and the law courts. It tangibly defines our world through dimensions and regulations. It shrinks and solidifies.

The zodiac sign Sagittarius expands and spreads out! It has domain over foreign countries; publishing, TV, radio, and social media; universities, colleges and libraries; medical schools; law-making, jurisprudence and finally, philosophy and religion.

This year with the planet Saturn in the sign of Sagittarius, we will see new, practical applications of our beliefs and ideas, especially related to social media, universities, churches and laws governing medical care plus how we deal with foreigners and immigration.

In previous years, when Saturn was in Sagittarius, radio became regulated for the first time through the FCC, which itself, was also just formed as a governing body; the first television license was issued; sound came to film with The Jazz Singer; the Academy Awards began in 1927; regular TV programming began; and Nintendo introduced the Zelda series. Likewise, this year and next, we will see new regulations to broadband technology and the Internet, as well as television and social media.

Because Sagittarius is the sign of "foreign countries", every 30 years when Saturn is in this sign, we experience breakthrough connections between countries. In 1927, we had the first transatlantic telephone call. In that same year, Charles Lindbergh stunned the world by flying nonstop from New York to Paris. In 1928, the first TV station was started; and soon the first television show was beamed from London to New York.

In 2016, scientific inventions, especially in aviation, will shrink the world. Mergers and legislation about broadband media will take place. Meanwhile, every county suffers from xenophobia because everyone is afraid of what is foreign or strange. (Guard against the common mistake of confusing xenophobia with xenofocaccia, which is a bread some people can't chew.)

This year the biggest change will be to our way of viewing foreigners -- no matter what country we live in. The timing is right for everyone to see that we are all more alike than not. We all want to be happy.

Does Your Past Predict Your Future?

This forecast begins with highlights of your past because if what I say about your past rings true, then you can trust what I say about your future.

In early 90s, you worked hard to secure your home base and figure out where to live. However, this was also a time when you felt confident and pleased about who you were, especially because others admired your accomplishments. The popularity was nice, too. By the mid-90s, Jupiter was in your sign bringing you good fortune and opening up all kinds of opportunities for you. In 1993, you began a new 12-year journey of growth. At that time, many of you had increased responsibilities with children, as well. By 1994, you were working hard and fortunately, your earnings got a boost. Something expanded your home scene in 1996. Perhaps you moved to bigger digs or bought a new home - whatever happened, you felt richer where you lived. Your family might have expanded then as well.

By 1997, you began to get recognition for what you had done in the previous 14 years. By 1999, partnerships that had outlived their usefulness ended. (It's hard for you to en a partnership because you need companionship in your life.) This meant that at the turn of the millennium, you had to get along with less because you were relying on yourself for your own support. Fortunately, by 2002, you were laughing. That was when you put your name up in lights and your reputation started to shine! In fact, your increasing popularity in 2003 simply paved the way for 2004, which was a time when you achieved a cherished dream. This was a career peak or a life peak for many of you. It was a time of harvest where all the seeds you had previously planted now came to fruition.

In 2005, lucky Jupiter returned to your sign again to boost your confidence and sense of self poise. This was also a powerful time for you! You felt proud of your achievements and accomplishments. By 2006, your earnings looked good! In addition, you purchased things that made you feel richer and more affluent. New friends, short trips and much to-ing and fro-ing occurred in 2007; and by 2008, you made home improvements or expanded your personal life in some way. This was also an excellent year for real estate or a chance for you to improve your personal life.

Around 2009, vacations, romance, love affairs and playful times with children were tops on your menu. However, this was a time when you began to let go of much of what you had created since 1996. This meant that in the next two years, you gave up people, places and possessions so that you could lighten your load to prepare for a whole new cycle which would begin in 2010. In fact, 2010 was a big turning point for you. Your relations with the general public and with friends and partners were excellent. Whether you were aware of it or not, this is when you started to reinvent yourself - a journey which is yet to be completed.

In 2012, your finances were challenging. You might have earned less or worked harder for the same amount of money. However, in the last few years, at a deeper level, you have been questioning your values. Specifically, you have been searching for meaning. You want to know what really matters in life because you don't want to be looking in the mirror in your 90s saying to yourself, "Kid, you blew it." Well, of course you don't!

In 2013, travel was sweet! You expanded your horizons and took advantage of opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine and the law. Life was good! Small wonder that by 2014, your reputation was stellar. People began to be aware of your accomplishments. Take a bow. Last year, friendships were important to you. In fact, it was a popular time for you when many of you joined clubs, groups and associations and enjoyed schmoozing with others. This is important because you are one of the most social signs of the zodiac. "Hold me! Touch me!"

Wealth, Career and Reputation

In 2010, you began the process of reinventing yourself and re-creating the New You, which will finally be completed in 2018. This means that this journey is not over yet. In fact, you are in the final stage of redefining who are, and this final stage is subtle. It is more about putting the finishing touches on how you see the world around you and how you interact with your world. There is a strong emphasis on how you speak, how you listen, how you observe, and even how you think. Therefore, to stimulate this process, as a natural part of this final stage of reinventing yourself - you might have a change of residence or a change of jobs or both. This is because somehow your daily milieu must be different. You can no longer default into looking around you with familiarity. Instead, the changes in your immediate environment will require, in fact, demand that you really SEE, you really LISTEN, you really THINK before you speak because everything is different! This is why most of you will have a change of jobs or a change of residence or both in this year or next. Often when I have mentioned this to clients, frequently, they deny that such a change would be possible. But later, it happens. Naturally, not everyone will have a change of jobs, especially if you are not working (!) - and not everyone will have a change of residence. But the great majority will experience a change in their daily surroundings, somehow.

One thing is certain, for most of this year you will tend to identify strongly with your wealth. You will regard your financial position as a sign of your personal worth. This means you will work hard to earn money, but you will work just as hard to spend it because you want to surround yourself with the tokens of success. Of course, you're not this superficial. You will also put out a lot of energy and planning to make sure that you use your possessions in a way that pleases you. In particular, you want to use your possessions to get things done - to accomplish things. If you have things that you're not using - this will not please you.

However, because you will have a strong identification with your wealth and possessions, and a focus on your earnings - very possibly, there will be disputes about your values, or even disputes about money and what you own. For example, your idealism will be aroused this year. Your concern for those who are less fortunate will be genuine and real. This might prompt you to give away money or possessions, even to the point of downsizing so that you live more simply. This kind of decision might alarm someone close to you. Perhaps they will object? This is just one example of how you will be dealing with your values, your wealth and your job.

One lovely influence that you can look forward to is that lucky, moneybags Jupiter will enter your sign in September to stay for a whole year. This is most fortuitous! In May, you might deal with disputes about inheritances, shared property and insurance issues. There might be disputes or not; but your focus will be on other people's resources. You will work hard to earn money now and continue to do so for months ahead.

In June, travel will appeal; therefore, get out of town if you can. However, you can also explore opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine, the law and higher education. Nevertheless, opportunities to travel for pleasure exist. Yeah!
