The Year 2016

For thousands of years, we have observed cycles: Seasons, lunar revolutions, birth and death. This year we are in a cycle where the planet Saturn is in the zodiac sign Sagittarius from 2015 to 2017. This cycle of Saturn in Sagittarius previously occurred in 1927-29; and 1956-58; and lastly in 1986-88.

The planet Saturn represents discipline, structure, form and the law courts. It tangibly defines our world through dimensions and regulations. It shrinks and solidifies.

The zodiac sign Sagittarius expands and spreads out! It has domain over foreign countries; publishing, TV, radio, and social media; universities, colleges and libraries; medical schools; law-making, jurisprudence and finally, philosophy and religion.

This year with the planet Saturn in the sign of Sagittarius, we will see new, practical applications of our beliefs and ideas, especially related to social media, universities, churches and laws governing medical care plus how we deal with foreigners and immigration.

In previous years, when Saturn was in Sagittarius, radio became regulated for the first time through the FCC, which itself, was also just formed as a governing body; the first television license was issued; sound came to film with The Jazz Singer; the Academy Awards began in 1927; regular TV programming began; and Nintendo introduced the Zelda series. Likewise, this year and next, we will see new regulations to broadband technology and the Internet, as well as television and social media.

Because Sagittarius is the sign of "foreign countries", every 30 years when Saturn is in this sign, we experience breakthrough connections between countries. In 1927, we had the first transatlantic telephone call. In that same year, Charles Lindbergh stunned the world by flying nonstop from New York to Paris. In 1928, the first TV station was started; and soon the first television show was beamed from London to New York.

In 2016, scientific inventions, especially in aviation, will shrink the world. Mergers and legislation about broadband media will take place. Meanwhile, every county suffers from xenophobia because everyone is afraid of what is foreign or strange. (Guard against the common mistake of confusing xenophobia with xenofocaccia, which is a bread some people can't chew.)

This year the biggest change will be to our way of viewing foreigners -- no matter what country we live in. The timing is right for everyone to see that we are all more alike than not. We all want to be happy.

Does Your Past Predict Your Future?

This forecast begins with highlights of your past because if what I say about your past rings true, then you can trust what I say about your future.

The early 90s were a time of fresh new beginnings for you. You were striking out on a new path, which involved new surroundings, new people, and perhaps, even a change in your daily wardrobe. In 1991, partnerships were supportive, which was helpful. Travel plans, further education and a chance to explore publishing, the media, medicine and the law presented themselves to you in 1993; and by 1994, your reputation was stellar! That's when you were working hard and you had lots of responsibilities.

In 1997, lucky Jupiter was in your sign bringing you good fortune. However, at this time, many of you were in a state of flux due to job changes or residential moves. By 1999, you decided you needed a home base that you could trust, which is why you either committed to one place, or moved again, or repaired and renovated where you lived. At that time (and in 2000), you definitely improved your home scene. Some of you even expanded your family through birth, adoption or marriage.

Wonderful opportunities to improve your job were available in 2002; and by 2003, partners and warm friendships were supportive. More than any other sign, you value friendships and your relationships to groups. Perhaps this is because you tend to see the world as a global village. You continued to work hard in 2004, but by now, you benefited from the wealth and resources of others. Yes! This was also a good year to get a loan or a mortgage.

Travel plans opened up in 2005; however, 2006 was your benchmark year. No question. At this time, you began to get recognition for your efforts. People started to take you seriously, which is why you began to focus more on your external world and your career potential. Your reputation was excellent in 2006-07, which is why offers promotions, kudos and personal acknowledgements came your way. However, for this reason, or simply because you were more focused on your external career, partnerships became challenging. In fact, until 2009, partnerships and marriages were so challenging, many of them ended.

It was your good fortune that during this challenging time, lucky Jupiter returned to your sign in January 2009 to buoy your spirits and attract opportunities and people to you. This was a classic example of when one door closes, another one opens. The year 2013 began to usher in successful time for you - your time of harvest. In the next few years, cherished dreams came true for many of you. Many of you went back to school or took up a new study to learn more because you wanted to expand your mind and your world experience. Travel was gratifying that year. The year 2015 brought welcome news for you because in many ways, life has been tough since 2012 because Saturn was at odds with your Sun in Aquarius. In 2015, this challenge was over. Furthermore, relations with friends and partners have been rewarding, joyful and consciousness expanding; and in ways that surprised you - others were helpful.

Wealth, Career and Reputation

This is a strong time for you in terms of career, job and your professional reputation among your peers. It's true that challenges from Saturn since 2012, were discouraging Whenever Saturn is at odds with your sign, it's a period of trial and you often experience moments of failure. You might have felt like your ambitions were thwarted. Fortunately, you have survived! This is behind you now. In 2016, not only will your career move forward with greater ease, even your health will improve. Yay!

Therefore, this time of success and harvest continues for you. However, it continues with fewer challenges and glitches. Glory hallelujah! In fact, your problems now are the problems of success because you are tempted to spread yourself too thin. In your efforts to meet the demands of others, you barely have enough time to meet your own demands. This is the year for you to work successfully with others, especially within a team, but there will be one challenge and it is this: Your ambition is unusually aroused! For some reason, you have the bit in your teeth and you're going to go for the brass ring. Furthermore, when you do this balancing act - you want credit for it. This does not always blend well with teamwork, does it? So your challenge will be to hide your personal ambition because it's not going to go away, and yet, have the skilful means to work with others in a way that no one feels threatened. Continually remind yourself what your objective is. As long as you remember what your objective is, you will know how to balance the ego of others so that they will support you instead of thwart your efforts to succeed. ("He thwarted me!" "Really? He doesn't look like the thwarty type." "Oh, he thwarts! Believe me!")

If your ambition is your main problem this year, frankly, things could be worse. And here is the good news - the really good news. Money! Moolah! This year lucky, moneybags Jupiter will travel through one of your Money Houses, specifically the House of Other People's resources. (As opposed to your own earnings, which is a different house.) This means money will come to you from other people this year. And quite easily! Therefore, this is the year to ask for a loan or a mortgage. Some of you will receive an inheritance. Others will get money back from the government or benefit indirectly through their partner or another individual who in turn, gets a bonus or a raise. In addition, you will be able to use what other people own -their car, their summer cabin or their ski chalet. Maybe even their plane? (Aquarians love aviation.) Just remember - ask and ye shall receive because your wealth, assets and circumstances will be enriched through others. This strong blessing will not come again until late 2027.

To sum this year up, you are sitting pretty. You easily get funding and financial support from others if you need it. Your ambition will make you work hard to achieve your goals; and meanwhile, teamwork with others will flow naturally for you (as long as you remember to be a team player). January starts off in a relatively low-key way. You are best served by working alone or behind the scenes. Because your new year is about to start (birthday to birthday) take time this month to strategize what you want your new year to be all about. How do you want it to be different from 2015?

February is your month to strut your stuff because the Sun is in your sign recharging your batteries for the rest of the year. You feel empowered! Furthermore, you attract fortunate circumstances and other people to you. And now, your ambition is in earnest! (Ooops.)

Cash flow, earnings and finances are your primary focus in March. This is also an excellent month to buy wardrobe goodies.

In April, your daily pace accelerates because you have things to do, people to see and places to go. Many of you will read, write and study more than usual. (Until April 20, this is a good month to settle financial negotiations or sign important contracts. After April 20, wait until June 8.)

Real-estate negotiations might capture your interest in May. This is also the classic time for important discussions for family businesses.

June is a playful, fun-loving month - excellent for vacations. However, this is also a good time to explore opportunities in sports, show business, the entertainment world, the hospitality industry and work related to children.

In July, your job will flow smoothly! It will be easy to get along with coworkers and you will get a lot done - and yes, your ambition is still strong! And yes, you can still get funding and support from others, like an increase in your budget, for example.

In August, you have to defer to others because the Sun will be directly opposite you, which means it is as far away from you as it gets all year. This also means you will need more sleep because the Sun is your source of energy. However, this oppositional position of the Sun to your Sun will require more compromise on your part. But it will give you a chance to objectively see your style of relating to those who are closest to you.

In September, there is a strong emphasis on shared property, taxes, debt, inheritances and the wealth and resources of others. This is an excellent time to write your own will or settle a will or deal with shared property issues.

In October, lucky Jupiter will shift into your fellow Air Sign, which is a marvellous benefit for you. Furthermore, this benefit will last for a year - until mid October 2017. This is good news! It means life will get easier for you. You'll have a stronger sense of good health and well-being. Furthermore, during this year-long window, all financial matters are favoured! In fact, you not only look like a winner this year, you will feel like a winner! And this is just the groundwork.

If we take a closer look at the planetary influences on your relationships for 2016, we see that you will enjoy a particular relationship with the planet Saturn that has not occurred since 1996-98. And it is a good relationship. Whereas Saturn was tough for your sign since 2012, now it will be quite the opposite. It will be supportive. (Astrology is based on mathematics; however, it is also based on the four elements of earth, air, water and fire.)

The financial influences regarding your home and family are excellent this year. This means that it's a good year to explore real-estate negotiations by buying, selling or renting a bigger home. It's also a good year to invest in your own home by renovating. It's also a good time to buy things for your home so that you feel richer and more affluent at home. Furthermore, it will be easy for you to borrow money to do this by either getting mortgage or getting a loan. In fact, with respect to getting mortgage or loan - this is the best year to do so in 11 years.

You won't back down and you will be very quick to defend yourself or the interests of someone else. Many of you will travel much more than usual next year in 2017. Others might go back to school or take courses or advanced training in something. You will also have a chance to explore opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine and the law because whatever happens, the bottom line is this: Whether through travel or learning - you will broaden your horizons in a wonderful way. You will learn more about the world by being a student, a teacher or mingling with people from other cultures and different countries. You might even explore consciousness-raising groups or human potential movements and certainly, environmental groups. Something will happen that changes your view of the world.

In 2018, lucky Jupiter will be at the top of your chart putting your name up in lights. Yay me! Your reputation will shine at this time. However you will also start to dismantle much of what you created since around 2005. In 2020, you can expect to start off on a new path of growth and development - a major change.
