Sagittarius Forecast for 2015

The Year 2015

Since 2012, difficult planetary aspects between Pluto and Uranus have created unpredictable, catastrophic events affecting countries, weather systems, aviation, accidents and political protests. There are seven times during the interval from 2012 until March 2015 that these occur. But after March, these untoward events will subside. Of course, life will always have unpredictable events and tragedy; but there will be a noticeable lessening of these threats.

Furthermore, once Jupiter enters Virgo in August, the economy and general well-being of both Canada and the United States will improve. Specifically, legislation regarding health-related issues as well as the environment will be encouraging.

Meanwhile, this year, the planet Saturn will be in Sagittarius and remain there for the next two years. The last time Saturn was in Sagittarius was from 1986-1988, and before that in 1927-1929. Saturn rules the law courts and the legal infrastructure of society; and Sagittarius is concerned with the laws that govern higher education, publishing, the media, medicine and how we deal with foreign countries.

This planetary combination will result in legislation about education, immigration, the media (including the Internet), medicine and law enforcement. Sagittarius aspires to ideals in truth, freedom, open-mindedness, spirituality and education, which means a new kind of idealism will permeate legal decisions.

Meanwhile, the three Mercury retrogrades that occur this year will all take place in Air signs, and Air signs are intellectual. This is a further indication of innovative breakthroughs and inventions, particularly in electronics, computers and the high-tech industry.

Ultimately, there will be more stable economic growth especially after August for both Canada and the United States.

I don't believe in a Pollyanna way that we are always progressing to bigger and better things. But this year will see a lessening of difficult situations and a strong encouragement and progress in laws that better society.

Jupiter in Virgo will help to restore Canada's reputation, which has suffered globally in terms of freedom of expression and our overall "nice guy" image. I think we will once again regain much of the respect we have lost not only in the eyes of other countries, but in the individual self-respect of Canadians.

Although the beginning of this year will be tumultuous, and things will, yet again, be stalled in the water from June to September; after that, there will be welcome improvements that will affect millions of people. This year hope is justified!

We All Have a Past

Your 2015 annual forecast begins with a nod to the past to demonstrate how accurate or not it is. If what I say about your past resonates with you, then you can trust what I say about your future.

The year 1995 was great for you, because your ruler, lucky Jupiter was in your sign. This helped you with the burden of home repairs and family responsibilities. Fortunately, by 1998, your home scene brightened. Many of you moved to bigger digs, or did something to boost family happiness. You continued to work hard in 1999-2000, which led to a better job or working conditions in 2000. By 2001, you began to get recognition for your efforts. That's when your focus on your external world started to grow.

Partnerships and close friendships were challenged during 2001-2003. However, this was nicely offset by fabulous travel opportunities! (You're happy whenever you are on the move, because Sagittarius is the traveler of the zodiac. Hands down.) Your reputation was shining in 2004. People thought highly of you then, even though personally, you felt strapped for cash. And while still feeling broke, you moved into a popular year in 2005. By 2006, you got serious about future plans and what you intended to achieve.

Lucky Jupiter returned to your sign in 2007 to help you realize these plans, and by 2008-2009, you achieved some cherished dreams. (How sweet it is!) Although you had increased responsibilities, you also had confidence and a feeling of success. This could be why you moved into a favourable real-estate situation in 2010, which was an excellent year to buy or sell real estate, or fix up where you currently lived. It was also a time when some of you expanded your family through marriage, birth or adoption. Family relationships were a warm, supportive comfort to you at that time. During 2010-2011, you had a chance to enjoy vacations, love affairs, romance and again, expand your family. (Some of you did all of the above.) Your job was a source of pleasure and success in 2012. This was helpful, because in the following year, 2013, you entered a period when you let go of many things - people, places, possessions and ideas that were no longer relevant. And you continued to do this last year as well. Fortunately, you received financial assistance and favours from others, or increased your wealth indirectly through your partner. (Money is a wonderful lubricant when life gets sticky.)

Money and Career

This year will be a turning point for you. Two major planetary influences are taking place "right here in River City!" They both bring good news, and good news is what every true-blue Sagittarius needs to hear. (Sagittarians do not like negative vibes.) The first bit of good news concerns a 30-year transit of Saturn in your chart. For the last two and half years, Saturn has been in your twelfth House, which one astrology textbook likens to "the dark night of the soul." (We all go through this every 30 years, but it's a challenge.) The good news is this dark night of the soul is over as of 2015. Glory Hallelujah! (Admittedly, for three months from mid-June to mid-September, Saturn will drift back into the 12th House, but compared to what you've been through in the last three years, this is peanuts.) You are virtually finished with this difficult time. Ever since late 2012, circumstances have conspired in such a way that you had to let go of possessions, places, jobs, homes, relationships, partnerships and friendships. At a more subtle level, you also let go of prejudices, beliefs and attitudes that no longer worked for you. Of course, this time of so-called loss was actually an opportunity to get rid of what was no longer relevant in your life. It was extra baggage you've been carrying that you no longer needed. Nevertheless, it's not always easy to let go.

So now you are in an entirely new sandbox. How exciting! You love new turf, new conquests and new experiences. (To put this in perspective, older Sagittarians last started this journey in 1986.) In the next seven years, you will reinvent yourself. Since 2015 will be the first year of this process, it might be so different that many of you will change your daily wardrobe. This could be because you are in a new climate, or your job has radically changed or both. But it's definitely a whole new scene! So the first bit of good news is that you are free of a time that was vague and confusing, and moving forward on a whole new journey. Factoid.

And now for the second bit of good news. Sagittarius is, frankly, a lucky sign. This is why it's easy for so many of you to be so optimistic. And certainly, one illustration of this good fortune is that now, just when you are setting off on a new path, your ruler, lucky Jupiter, will travel across the top of your chart. (Couldn't ask for better timing.) Jupiter moves across the top of your chart only once every 12 years, and when it does, it gives you a chance to put your name up in lights! You will get a special job, a promotion, a prize, or accolades for something you did. But whatever it is, it will be great press. This fabulous boost to your reputation will begin around August.

Meanwhile, before August, you will enjoy many opportunities for work-related travel, and a chance to do business with other countries, as well as negotiations with people from different cultures and backgrounds. This year begins with Jupiter magnifying and boosting all the activities that are dear to your heart. From a career and financial point of view, you will have chances to explore opportunities related to travel, higher education, medicine, the law, publishing and the media. Opportunities in these areas will abound! In fact, work-related travel is highly likely this year, and in August, your reputation and good press will be extremely favourable.

So on one hand, a very difficult situation for you is ending, and on the other hand (you have different rings) a fabulous situation is now beginning. Not too shabby.

Let's look more closely at this year, month by month, for guidelines regarding your job and career. Right off the bat, in January, your focus will definitely be on earnings, cash flow and money. You will also be strident and forceful in all your communications with others, which might help you in sales, marketing, teaching, acting and writing. February is a busy month full of errands, conversations with everyone and short trips. Your communication skills will be particularly excellent then, which makes this a good time to sign deals and initiate negotiations. All matters related to home businesses, working from home and real estate are favoured in March. This is also a good time to explore financial speculation, particularly in the entertainment world, the hospitality industry or sports.

April continues your focus on financial speculation and playing with money. Relations with coworkers are cooperative and mutually beneficial. However, conflict with coworkers might occur in May, perhaps because you are coming on strong and delegating to everyone. You have high standards for yourself this month and are working hard. You also expect everyone else around you to do likewise. (Easy does it.) Partnerships are your primary focus in June. This is also an excellent time for dealing with members of the general public. June is also a good month to ask for a loan, an increased budget or better equipment for your work.

In July, you want to tie up a lot of loose ends and red-tape details with taxes, debt, shared property and insurance matters. Although you have lots of travel opportunities all year, you will likely travel in August, both professionally and for pleasure. This is also a good time to explore opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine, the law and anything related to higher education. September is a wonderful month, because the Sun and Jupiter will be at the top of your chart making you look fabulous to everyone. This is the time to strike! Go after what you want. Make your pitch. People in authority, including bosses and VIPs, will be inclined to listen to you and endorse your ideas.

Your ambition is even stronger in October, and at the same time, your popularity increases. Everyone wants to be on your team. In November, everything to do with your professional reputation is still strong. By December, you're laughing. The Sun, Mercury and Saturn are all in your sign, while lucky moneybags Jupiter shines down from the top of your chart. Your confidence and ability to communicate to others will help you be successful in many areas. This is definitely a time when you can get ahead and make a wonderful impression on everyone.

Relationships and Romance

Relationships are impacted in a strong way this year. Good relationships will be sustained; however, troublesome relationships may end. For several years now, you have been withdrawing from many things from your past. Some of you are cutting yourself off from others, because you sense that you are heading into a new phase of your life. And you're right. You're entering a seven-year window when you will reinvent yourself; and you might not take everyone along for the ride. However, you will be inclined to seek out the advice of older, more experienced people, which is not a bad idea.

Don't worry if you feel more introverted this year, because it is totally appropriate for you to be looking inward now. You're at the beginning stage of restructuring much of your life, and this takes internal energy along with external activities. Nevertheless, your ruler Jupiter will introduce you to travel opportunities, and bring chances to meet people from other cultures and different countries. This will be a broadening, educational experience for you. The more you get in touch with yourself now, the more successful you will be in the future.

The unpredictable planet Uranus is now in the part of your chart related to romance and love affairs. This will attract excitement into your life! Unusual relationships with people who are "different" from you could materialize, but these relationships might not be durable or long-lasting. Sudden infatuations and "off and on" relationships could be the tenor of this year. Love at first sight with someone you never expected to be with is likely.

January could bring work-related romance. Some of you could meet someone through a sibling, neighbour or relative. February is a busy time with short trips and conversations with everyone. Everyday errands and tasks might put you in contact with someone new. March is a fabulous month for love affairs, romance, vacations, the arts and playful times with kids. This high energy continues into April making you feel sexy and desirable! A work-related romance might begin in April or May. This is also a good time to mend broken fences with friends and partners, because you feel non-judgmental and receptive to others.

Sexual intimacy is strong in June, even though conflict with partners is also likely at this time. (Make-up sex?) Your passionate nature continues to be aroused in July. This is also the classic month to become involved with someone from another country or a different culture. Romance with a boss or someone older, richer or worldlier might begin in August. This is also a great time to travel for pleasure with romantic partners. However, disputes about shared property or the division of labour could arise at this time as well.

In September, you shine! Others think highly of you, which is why you will be popular with many people. Once again, opportunities to travel for pleasure are present. Plus, your popularity continues in October, especially with younger people. Professional contacts that are platonic might turn romantic in November, because Venus, Mars and Jupiter are high in your chart. This makes you look attractive and appealing to others, especially sexually. In December of course, the Sun will be in your sign giving you energy, and attracting interesting people and favourable circumstances to you.

It's important to remember that your ruler Jupiter is at the top of your chart this year for the first time in 12 years. This makes you look friendly, successful, affable and affluent to others. This also increases your confidence and poise. That's really all you need.

Home, Family and Real Estate

This year holds many travel opportunities for you and your family. You might travel alone, or with your spouse or partner, or with the entire family, because the travel opportunities you have now are the best you've had in over a decade. However, travel is not the only way that life will expand your experiences this year. Many of you will pursue philosophy, metaphysics, religion or some kind of study that helps you develop as a person. This might also impact your relationships with family members. In fact, you might encourage a family member to join you in this intellectual journey.

Some of you might actually choose to live in a foreign country for a while, which will also affect your family and your home life. Whatever happens this year will be a powerful maturing influence on you. And it will be positive. Whatever helps you blossom as a person obviously affects everyone close to you. Because this year is a great turning point for you, as you enter this seven-year journey of reinventing yourself, this too, will affect your family and your relationships with loved ones.

This is the classic time to make a major move where you will leave behind much of what you created and built for yourself since 2001. Your new world will be different, possibly in another country, or in a different neighbourhood, or a different part of the country. It might even entail a change of daily wardrobe. All of these things affect your home and family. After August, you will have increasing opportunities to make a name for yourself, or call attention to yourself and your own personal success. This in turn, could mean you will choose to live in a bigger home or more affluent situation. This career success can also affect your relationship with family members. Certainly, the fact that work-related travel is strong is also another influence.

To sum it up, your opportunities to expand your world physically through travel, as well as through study, will change you. And the success you will experience in the coming year, especially late in 2015, will also impact your family. These are exciting possibilities but they are big changes! It's difficult to say exactly when the biggest change (perhaps a residential move) will happen, but it will be prudent to streamline your possessions so that you're in a position to act quickly and make changes easily and gracefully. Plan for this! The more you plan now the easier your life will be later.

In January, your focus is primarily on earnings and cash flow, while in February, relationships with siblings and relatives, especially younger people, will be prominent. You have something important to say to them; perhaps because you want to teach someone something. Both February and March are times when you will focus on your home, especially buying beautiful things for your home or making repairs and renovations. In March and April, family vacations, children and sports will be a priority. In May, you will work hard to get better organized at home, and your relationships with partners will improve.

Partners will be a strong focus in June. However, tension with someone is likely. (Oops.) July is the classic time in your chart for travel for pleasure, but you might have disputes about family possessions, shared property or inheritances. August is another month where travel beckons. Education and opportunities to expand your world through training, either for yourself or for a family member, are excellent possibilities then.

By September, you are in a strong position, and people will listen to you. They will respect you because you appear to be admirable to them. (It's all smoke and mirrors.) Once again, travel opportunities abound. (This is certainly a theme for the entire year.) You might entertain at home in October because you are more involved with friends and groups, as well as people from other cultures and different lands. Your family or your career will make you feel proud in November. This leads to a powerful December for you when the Sun will be in your sign attracting opportunities and people to you. At that time, Jupiter will be at the top of your chart enhancing your reputation, while Venus and Mars will encourage friendships and interactions with clubs and groups. In all, this is a year when you and your family will expand their experience of life and the world. (I'm not making this up.)

A Sneak Peek Beyond 2015

Your reputation continues to shine in 2016. In fact, perhaps even more than in 2015! This is a great year to get a promotion or make a name for yourself. Perhaps as a consequence, 2017 is a very popular year. By 2019, you're laughing, because Jupiter will return to your sign. Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sagittarius. It enters your sign once every 12 years, and stays there for about a year. This means that this wonderful good fortune happens about five times in your adult life. The last time it occurred was in 2007. So make the most of 2019! The year 2020 will see increased earnings, as well as major purchases that please you. Be aware that in late 2021 and into 2022, there is a wonderful window of opportunity to make money through real estate. This is also an excellent time to invest in or improve your own home. Late 2022 and 2023 promise vacations, romance and fun escapes! You will improve your job, or get a better job in 2023; and in 2024-2025, marriage and improved partnerships will bless you.

Mercury Retrograde in 2015

Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. These are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.

Dates below are actual retrograde dates and buffer dates. Why? Mercury slows down before it goes retrograde and, likewise, it takes a while to catch up to the degree it was at when it first went retrograde. Use buffer times for big purchases like cars.
