Cancer Forecast for 2015

The Year 2015

Since 2012, difficult planetary aspects between Pluto and Uranus have created unpredictable, catastrophic events affecting countries, weather systems, aviation, accidents and political protests. There are seven times during the interval from 2012 until March 2015 that these occur. But after March, these untoward events will subside. Of course, life will always have unpredictable events and tragedy; but there will be a noticeable lessening of these threats.

Furthermore, once Jupiter enters Virgo in August, the economy and general well-being of both Canada and the United States will improve. Specifically, legislation regarding health-related issues as well as the environment will be encouraging.

Meanwhile, this year, the planet Saturn will be in Sagittarius and remain there for the next two years. The last time Saturn was in Sagittarius was from 1986-1988, and before that in 1927-1929. Saturn rules the law courts and the legal infrastructure of society; and Sagittarius is concerned with the laws that govern higher education, publishing, the media, medicine and how we deal with foreign countries.

This planetary combination will result in legislation about education, immigration, the media (including the Internet), medicine and law enforcement. Sagittarius aspires to ideals in truth, freedom, open-mindedness, spirituality and education, which means a new kind of idealism will permeate legal decisions.

Meanwhile, the three Mercury retrogrades that occur this year will all take place in Air signs, and Air signs are intellectual. This is a further indication of innovative breakthroughs and inventions, particularly in electronics, computers and the high-tech industry.

Ultimately, there will be more stable economic growth especially after August for both Canada and the United States.

I don't believe in a Pollyanna way that we are always progressing to bigger and better things. But this year will see a lessening of difficult situations and a strong encouragement and progress in laws that better society.

Jupiter in Virgo will help to restore Canada's reputation, which has suffered globally in terms of freedom of expression and our overall "nice guy" image. I think we will once again regain much of the respect we have lost not only in the eyes of other countries, but in the individual self-respect of Canadians.

Although the beginning of this year will be tumultuous, and things will, yet again, be stalled in the water from June to September; after that, there will be welcome improvements that will affect millions of people. This year hope is justified!

We All Have a Past

Your 2015 annual forecast begins with a nod to the past to demonstrate how accurate or not it is. If what I say about your past resonates with you, then you can trust what I say about your future.

When you think back to around 1996, many of you may remember a time of harvest and fruition. You might have graduated or landed a special job, or you might have received a wonderful promotion. Perhaps it was your chance to break out and try self-employment. Some of you might have married, or maybe something important occurred - perhaps you had your first child. Whatever the case, it was a time when you felt proud of yourself and your achievements. It was also an especially good time to marry, and a good time to begin partnerships and cement warm friendships.

By 1997, help from others was an advantage. However, you weren't afraid to speak up and ask for things, because you were pretty aggressive, especially in the spring. The following year, in 1998, travel plans looked inviting, and many of you explored opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine and the law. That was also a good time to meet people from different backgrounds and other countries.

Your home scene and relations with children might have been challenging in 1999. It was busy then, perhaps due to renovations or increased activity at home. You felt good about life, because it was easy to earn the respect of others. In fact, your reputation was shining! Some of you were active enjoying fun vacations, and perhaps exploring romantic adventures, as well as sports events.

By the turn of the millennium, your popularity was still strong, and many of you became more involved in groups, clubs and organizations. In fact, your popularity might have made too many demands on your time. It's so hard to please everyone, isn't it? (And people who think they know everything are very irritating to those of us who do.)

By 2001, you were busting your buns and putting out lots of energy at work. However, you might have encountered conflict with coworkers. Fortunately, Jupiter moved into your sign in July of that year, where it stayed for 12 months. Yay! This ameliorated any difficulties you had. (Jupiter is in your own sign for a year only once every 12 years. When this happens, life gets easier. Factoid.) In addition, this was a signal that you were entering a new 12-year journey of growth. Some of you might have had health challenges then, or perhaps you changed your job. This was also a time when you were giving up things, and letting go of people, places and possessions. This process of lightening your load and getting rid of what was no longer relevant in your life was intended to prepare you for 2003, when you entered a whole new world. Things changed then!

In 2003, you entered another new cycle, but this one was the beginning of a 30-year cycle. (Yes, astrology has cycles within cycles. Just like in everyday life, where there's a daily cycle, a weekly cycle, a monthly cycle, an annual cycle, and so on.)

Fortunately, just as you were starting out on this new journey in 2003, many of you were able to boost your earnings. That's why you spent money, especially on travel or further education, publishing, the media, medicine and the law. By 2005, you had a wonderful opportunity to improve your home and family life. That was also a good year to explore real-estate possibilities. And it was a time when you were active with friends, perhaps competitively, especially in sports. This was followed by a delightful year in 2006 that promoted vacations, romance, social excursions and fun-filled times. In fact, around 2005-06 children were a source of joy to you, and many of you expanded your family through marriage, birth or adoption.

You were feisty and aggressive about going after what you wanted around 2007, and you probably used this energy to improve your job. Some of you also improved your health then. In 2008-09, inheritances, gifts and support from others, as well as indirect benefits through the wealth of your partner, gave you a boost. This could be why you spent more money in 2009 as well! Money in, money out! (Oh well, enjoy money while you have it. You never see a hearse pulling a U-Haul.)

In 2011-12, you were aggressive about going after what you wanted. Oh yeah! Do you remember that? In fact, this might have created conflicts with siblings, neighbours and friends. Some of you made sudden changes to your life direction, but all of you enjoyed a boost to your reputation that year. You looked good, and people thought highly of you!

Perhaps changes in your life direction created the upheaval that followed at home in 2013-14. Or perhaps this increased activity and chaos was due to renovations or visiting guests? Whatever the case, conflict on the home front and a bit of insanity were a challenge. Ouch! However, you were fortunate, because Jupiter returned to your sign again in July 2013, where it stayed until July 2014. This was a lucky break! In fact, it helped you deal with things so that you were able to come out smiling! I won't say you were laughing all the way to the bank, because you are private about your money and you don't advertise your wealth. Who wants everyone running up to them asking for a loan? Not you!

Money and Career

Without a doubt, the best news that you're going to hear about 2015 is in this category of Money and Career. So listen up! The planet Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It is so large you can fit all the other planets in it, along with three sesame seeds and the heart of a Hollywood producer. (Some say Jupiter is a failed Sun. i.e. It didn't quite make the grade.) Because of its huge size, it represents expansion wealth, good fortune, joy and magnification in all aspects. This is why I often call it "lucky Jupiter," or even "lucky moneybags Jupiter."

Jupiter moves through all 12 signs of the zodiac in a 12-year cycle, staying for about a year in each sign. This means it travels through one of the Houses in your chart each year. (You have 12 Houses, and your astrological chart looks like a pizza cut into 12 pieces.)

Well, the good news for your sign is that right now, lucky moneybags Jupiter is travelling through your House of Earnings. (Let's hear it for Cancers! Give it up there, in the balcony.) This only happens about five times in your adult life, so 2015 is a wonderful time of good fortune!

To put a finer spin on it, each time Jupiter travels through your House of Earnings, all the other planets are in different places. So even though you get this wonderful boost to your earnings, assets and wealth in general, the events in your life also depend on what else is going on in your chart. Capisce? Read on.

This year Jupiter will boost your assets, both in terms of earnings and what you own. In other words, one of the ways that you might become "richer" is that you actually buy the stuff yourself! (Probably not what you wanted to hear.) But in the end, you will feel more affluent; you will feel richer. So this feeling of increased affluence will come about not only from an influx of money to you, but also from an increase in your assets, even if you purchase them.

Meanwhile, right now Uranus is at the top of your chart. This is the only time in your life this will occur. Uranus is going to stay there for about a decade, really stirring the pot, prompting many of you to leave a long-term career for something fresh and new. More specifically, it will prompt many of you to go out on your own and be self-employed, because you want your own independence. Uranus is travelling through the top of your chart from 2012 until 2019. During that time, you will bring about a radical change to your professional life. You will either change professions or branch out on your own. Factoid.

Certainly, problems with authority figures are likely because of these increased feelings of independence. (Ya think?) If you feel repressed where you are, then you will do everything in your power to break free. Because of the unpredictable quality of Uranus, it means many of you will get sudden, unexpected new opportunities in your work and chances to try new techniques, especially things that are high-tech, because Uranus rules computers and electronics.

In the bigger picture, this Uranus transit is the time to examine who you are and what you can do to feel fulfilled. For many of you, this trigger will happen between 2012 and 2015, because the planet Saturn is also in the picture, making you question what you're doing. Basically, Saturn forces you to ask, "What do I really want to be when I grow up?"

Another thing that will affect your career and your earnings is that partnerships are undergoing major changes at this time, because Pluto is opposite your sign. The classic expression of this is that you would have huge power struggles with a business partner, which could lead to a split. This might have already happened. This is an additional influence, independent of the Uranian influence, which is provoking you to be more independent. (Oy! Get the picture?)

These are both unusual influences for your sign, because generally speaking, Cancer people like to stay where they are. Many Cancer people end up sitting around boardrooms simply because they lasted that long! You don't quit. Longevity and stick-to-it-iveness are strong qualities for you. This means that there are two strong influences really shaking things up for you! And on top of these two influences, there is a further short influence for two years, which is now almost over, that makes you question things. This is why many stable, loyal, steady-Eddy Cancers are leaving their long-term jobs. ("So long! Write if you get work.")

Well, you couldn't pick a better year to jump ship, because you will have the support of more money coming to you in some way. The last time that Jupiter boosted your income or brought new job opportunities was in 2002-2003. However, at that time, you also had another influence that was forcing you to let go of things. You had to give up, streamline and reduce what you owned, which meant two very opposite influences were at play then. This is not the case for 2015.

Now is your chance to actualize in your life what it is you actually value. If it is money and possessions, then this is what will increase in your world, because Jupiter wants to teach you how to manage your material wealth, and at the same time, promote better self-understanding. Plus, hey, it will feel good to have a few bucks in your jeans!

Relationships and Romance

There are several different planetary influences that will impact your relationships this year. The most obvious is that lucky moneybags Jupiter will attract increased earnings to you and increased wealth, even if you have to go out and buy these dazzling things. And, let's face it, money has always been an aphrodisiac. ("Mom, he's short!" "So he can stand on his wallet.") Of course, this does mean that people are going to stick with you just for your money. For one thing, you don't flash your wealth. (Oh, no!) But it does mean that you will feel less worried and more secure, and this happier, more secure self is the kind of person who will attract others. Right?

Furthermore, both existing relationships and new relationships will benefit if you have a little disposable income to enjoy hotels, B & B's, short trips, a Sunday brunch, movies, hockey games, baseball games, to say nothing of an occasional gift? (Come on! Open up your wallet, and let a few moths out.)

Meanwhile, for the only time in your life, Pluto is opposite your sign stirring the pot in partnerships and marriage. This can push a relationship to a point of crisis, because whatever tension that you've been putting up with for years will come to the surface now. ("I see it! It's there against the horizon!") And if it doesn't come to the surface, Pluto will guide your unconscious compulsions so you will still do something to get out of a relationship that is no longer working for you.

But here's the crux of the problem. The sign of Cancer, more than any other sign of the zodiac, stays in the wrong relationships too long. Cancer women, in particular, (Sun Cancer, Moon in Cancer or Cancer Rising) often forgive the bad behaviour of their partner, because they are sympathetic and they "understand" why this person is being a jerk. This means they put up with things that other signs would not stand for. (Oh, yeah!) Therefore, it's important that Cancer people develop a healthy self-interest. After all, life is short - and fat! Don't waste your years in a relationship you don't want to be in, because you feel sorry for someone or would hate to hurt them. It's okay to do what is best for you.

Please note: If you are extricating yourself from a long-term relationship, be careful because Pluto can introduce an element that is nasty and destructive. We're talking serious dirty tactics. It's important that you do not reciprocate in kind because you will only perpetuate this kind of thing in your life. Pluto has a karmic quality to it. Under a Pluto influence, you must do what is best for everyone so that you get future benefits. This is a strong warning.

The influence of Saturn could also mean that you might strike up a new relationship with someone of an age difference. This person could be older, or you might be the older person taking a slightly parental role in the relationship - perhaps the role of mentor. You might also encounter someone with kids, which means you will take on the increased responsibilities of children.

These are all classic influences for Cancer with regard to what is going on right now. But if we look specifically at each month, we will also see that January is a time where you will focus strongly on your partnerships and close friendships. And I would invite you to be tolerant, easy going and ready to go more than halfway that month. Both Venus and Mercury will be opposite your sign and encourage much discussion as well as warm, happy moments.

February is definitely hot and sexy, because you will feel passionate about everything in your life! You want to experience life on a feeling level, and not just as an intellectual interpretation. In March, romance with someone older or in a position of power might begin for some of you. (You look good to others!) Increased popularity with artistic, creative people will bless you in April, because you will look unusually attractive to everyone then. This popularity continues into May, when in fact, some of you will indulge in a secret love affair. (Oh, yes!)

By July, the Sun returns to your sign so you are looking swell! September brings work-related relationships into your world, because it looks like you can meet people through money-related sources, including your own job. October and November will encourage positive relationships with daily contacts, siblings and friends of people you know every day, whereas December could bring new introductions through family members.

Treat yourself to some wardrobe goodies and a new hairstyle if you can afford it (and you will be able to afford it), and see what happens! And if can't afford to do this, don't worry because love is blind. (It's marriage that is the eye-opener.)

Home, Family and Real Estate

You are a nester. Home and family mean everything to you. Furthermore, home is where you feel most comfortable and the least threatened. It's your baby blue blanket. You get a warm feeling in your tummy being surrounded by cozy, familiar possessions. You also like to work to make your home a welcoming refuge for others as well. This is why so many Cancer people are fabulous cooks in the kitchen. And they also enjoy creating a garden of beauty and food. They want to enrich their home life and the experience of anyone who visits them. ("Try this! This time it has a little pancetta in it - it's wonderful!")

Naturally, the feeling of increased wealth or earnings, as well as the major purchases that you will make this year, will all work to make you feel more relaxed at home, and will also promote a greater enjoyment of your home. In the spring, specifically around April, you are quite high viz. You may go out more, and you will probably bring others back to your home. This popularity continues into May. By July, when it is your birthday, yet again, you will want to entertain. Yahoo!

September is a busy month full of short trips and interactions with relatives. By October, you want to stay at home more, and attract others to come to you. December will be your prime choice for redecorating, and once again, entertaining.

The biggest single influence in your home and family life this year will be your relationship to money and possessions. Many of you will feel less stress, and hence, more peace of mind and a willingness to entertain and share good times.

A Sneak Peek Beyond 2015

If we look down the road, it is apparent that you will be working hard over the next three years to prove to the world what you can do. Around 2018 - ta-da! - you step out onto the world stage, taking your power, as well as taking a bow. At this time, you will receive acknowledgement for the efforts of your previous three years (2015-2018). Admittedly, you will be entering a time where your increased power and recognition could upset the balance in an existing partnership. This simply means you have to skillful, tolerant and patient. You must know that ultimately, you are working towards a time of harvest and fruition around 2025.

However, do take note: From the autumn of 2016 until the end of 2017, not only will your home life beautifully improve, but you will have excellent opportunities for real-estate investments, or to buy and sell your home. This will be one of your best times for real estate in over a decade. Make note of this. And yes, I know you hate to move!

Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. These are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.

Dates below are actual retrograde dates and buffer dates. Why? Mercury slows down before it goes retrograde and, likewise, it takes a while to catch up to the degree it was at when it first went retrograde. Use buffer times for big purchases like cars.
