To a Better Year Ahead!
Canada and the US will enjoy an improved financial climate this year as North America moves towards a more solid footing. Family life and especially the rights and care of children will also improve.
Last year Saturn entered Scorpio to stay until September 2015. This means Saturn is now being expressed in a Scorpio style - or to put it another way - the areas that are governed by Scorpio are the ones undergoing strong challenges.
The sign of Scorpio governs sex, secrets, espionage and spying, police detection and criminal activity as well as medicine, plumbing, manufacturing, nuclear fission, television, the military and everything related to death.
Meanwhile the planet Saturn governs all pyramid structures, especially rules and regulations and the government.
When Saturn was last in Scorpio in 1984-86, Indira Gandhi was assassinated, AIDS was discovered, Apple released the first MAC computer, Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to run as a Vice President running mate, Nintendo was released, the Challenger exploded after take off, the Chernobyl disaster occurred and FOX network began. This same energy will pervade in 2014.
Small wonder we have press coverage about NSA spying on its own citizens as well as other countries, plus security leaks and whistle blowers like Edward Snowden. The year 2014 will continue to focus on crime, ruthless politics and overburdened medical systems, as well as exposing illegal surveillance of the public.
The real-estate market will continue to improve until summer, after which it might settle for awhile. From the summer of 2014 and beyond, we can expect improvements and more activity in the arts and the entertainment world. During this same time, there will be a wonderful boost to the hospitality industry, which is good news for restaurants, hotels, resorts and theme parks.
So it's a bad year for spies and a good year for stand-up comedy. Does this mean funny is out of the bag? No more hidden humour?
I agree with Margaret Mead who said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has."
But I also agree with George Carlin who said: "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
Hello 2014!
Your life holds contradictions. You like bringing things together. You like to introduce people to each other. You hate to split from people and you especially don't want to upset them. You're a pleaser who tries not to rock the boat. But late last year and this year, you need to break free of relationships that oppress you. Because you will no longer ignore disappointments, you're undergoing changes and sweeping away structures that no longer work. In 2003-04, you were on top of your game, and then you began to create a new identity around 2011. Now you are redefining values. You want to put your money on the right horse. You don't want to get caught up in things that are not important. This year you're going to be smart. It will be a rite of passage saying goodbye to something - and hello to something new. Mars Attacks!
Mars is in one sign for about six weeks every two years. Its impact is brief. But currently, Mars is in Libra for eight months! (Whaaat?) Mars represents courage, assertiveness, quarrels, inflammations, sexual energy and wars. It makes you energetic and aggressive. Because Mars symbolizes your ego, you'll put a lot of yourself into whatever you have to say. You'll be PowerPoint on steroids! You'll change subjects and jump to different issues. You might feel a bit nervous and anxious and you will get very involved in things. You'll want to travel and explore new places, new ideas and meet new people. But note: In April, May and June, this blast of energy suddenly subsides, then returns again to sizzle until September. You'll surprise yourself by acting like a risk-taking, swashbuckling musketeer. Money - the Second Most Important Thing
You want to boost your earnings and get out of debt. You've been thinking a lot about money and possessions plus spiritual and moral values. (Those over 50 will remember wrestling with these ideas in 1984-85.) You might fear you're losing control over your material world. But actually, your attempt to organize your finances is an outer expression of your quest for deeper values. Something has happened to make you ask these questions. By 2015, much of this will be behind you (or maybe a little to the left). To get the most out of 2014, you need to focus on your strengths not your doubts. Jupiter is crossing the top of your chart, which happens only once every 12 years. This beautifully enhances your reputation! (Especially with VIPs and bosses.) This is the year to get ahead. You will receive recognition, a promotion or public acknowledgment and the esteem of your peers. Some will have a chance to change their field of work to healing, medicine, the law, higher education or travel. Stay positive! Expect a miracle because the gods are with you. Naturally, you have to get out of bed and make this work for you. This is a powerful year. Use it.
Love is Chemistry, Sex is Physics
Relationships are going to be interesting this year because you'll be doing a Jekyll and Hyde routine. Your tactful, accommodating self will be in the shadows in January and February while you step forth demanding more attention and more authority in your relationships. You want more freedom to do your own thing. Oh yeah! You're ready to rattle a few cages, which means you will leave any relationship that makes you feel oppressed. "I'm outta here!" Then in April, May and June, all is sweetness and light and you might even be apologetic. But not for long. By July, you're back in the saddle going after what you want. You're not a loner. But you will no longer disappear in a relationship, which you're inclined to do. This year, success and recognition will increase your confidence, and Mars will increase your ability to defend yourself. And you will like it! Late in the year and into 2015, your popularity will increase. You'll make new friends and join clubs.

Home and family have undergone changes. Some began last year. Something was (or will be) given up. You will continue this. Get rid of what you no longer use. Recycle it, sell it, give it away. Streamline what you own so your possessions make fewer demands on your time. (This might even apply to family relationships.) Because you are confident and more aggressive this year, you can do this. Another reason it's important to organize your home scene is your career can really take off this year and you don't want to be worried about your private life. For major real-estate business, wait until 2018. That's when buying and selling will really bring a profit. As for this year - your family will be impressed with your professional success. It's great to get recognition from that surprised gang.
A Sneak Peek beyond 2014
You love beautiful, tasteful surroundings preferably with overstuffed comfort and soft pillows. That's why it might not thrill you to know that between 2015-2018, you will likely have a change of residence or change of jobs or both. But fear not. Lucky Jupiter enters your sign in September 2016 to stay until October 2017. This means that whatever is going on or whatever changes you have to undergo will be an improvement. They will bless you. Your life will feel expanded or enriched. My guess is you will look forward to the move! "I'm loving this!"

Mercury Retrograde in 2014
Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. These are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.
Dates below are actual retrograde dates and buffer dates. Why? Mercury slows down before it goes retrograde and, likewise, it takes a while to catch up to the degree it was at when it first went retrograde. Use buffer times for big purchases like cars.
