To a Better Year Ahead!
Canada and the US will enjoy an improved financial climate this year as North America moves towards a more solid footing. Family life and especially the rights and care of children will also improve.
Last year Saturn entered Scorpio to stay until September 2015. This means Saturn is now being expressed in a Scorpio style - or to put it another way - the areas that are governed by Scorpio are the ones undergoing strong challenges.
The sign of Scorpio governs sex, secrets, espionage and spying, police detection and criminal activity as well as medicine, plumbing, manufacturing, nuclear fission, television, the military and everything related to death.
Meanwhile the planet Saturn governs all pyramid structures, especially rules and regulations and the government.
When Saturn was last in Scorpio in 1984-86, Indira Gandhi was assassinated, AIDS was discovered, Apple released the first MAC computer, Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to run as a Vice President running mate, Nintendo was released, the Challenger exploded after take off, the Chernobyl disaster occurred and FOX network began. This same energy will pervade in 2014.
Small wonder we have press coverage about NSA spying on its own citizens as well as other countries, plus security leaks and whistle blowers like Edward Snowden. The year 2014 will continue to focus on crime, ruthless politics and overburdened medical systems, as well as exposing illegal surveillance of the public.
The real-estate market will continue to improve until summer, after which it might settle for awhile. From the summer of 2014 and beyond, we can expect improvements and more activity in the arts and the entertainment world. During this same time, there will be a wonderful boost to the hospitality industry, which is good news for restaurants, hotels, resorts and theme parks.
So it's a bad year for spies and a good year for stand-up comedy. Does this mean funny is out of the bag? No more hidden humour?
I agree with Margaret Mead who said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has."
But I also agree with George Carlin who said: "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
Hello 2014!
The year 2014 means greater freedom and change for all Cancers. You are so dramatically redefining your individuality, others notice it. It's public. Even if your drive for more independence is hindered by a partnership, you ain't gonna stop. After all, you gave up a lot at the beginning of the millennium, which is why you began to re-invent yourself around 2003. Job changes and residential moves in 2007-11 pretty much put the finishing touches to this journey. Since then you've been helping family members and working to establish a secure home for yourself. This is important to you because you are a nester. And since you need to feather your nest, you hold onto stuff. Oy! Fortunately, all those residential moves helped you pare things down. (There's an old army saying: "Three moves are worth a fire.") Actually, because you have lightened your load and established a home base, you are even freer to explore new ways of living. This is a fortunate year for you.
Mars Attacks!
This year an unusual journey of Mars in one sign will energize you. You will assert yourself in many situations, even to the extent that you surprise yourself. ("Did I just say that?") However, you will also feel you are being tested and forced to demonstrate that you know what you're doing. It's as if you are always "on." Mars is the planet that governs war, so you will have disputes and disagreements with others, especially on the home front. Basically, Mars will make you irritable and impatient. So the obvious remedy is to practice patience and be tolerant. Fear not. In the bigger picture, Mars gives you abundant energy to work hard, which in turn guarantees that your efforts will bear fruit. There will be a payoff. The key to handling this influence is to be aware of what you say and do. Guard against being petty and irritable. It's no fun and it's not sexy. Career and money are where things get better and better this year. Your financial prospects will improve because of your good fortune. It's that simple. You might ask, "Does this mean my good fortune is gone after August?" Au contraire! After August, moneybags Jupiter moves into your House of Earnings and that's when the real dough starts to roll in! For most of this year, you will be in the right place at the right time saying the right thing to the right person. You will attract favourable circumstances to you and your confidence will increase. And if a powerful partnership hinders your drive for independence - well, there's the door. Disputes about land ownership or a family business or something that is shared are possible. Think about what your long-term objective is. Surely, like George Burns, you know that "Happiness is having a large, loving, close-knit family in another city." Fortunately, with lucky Jupiter in your sign you will weather this. (Whew!)
A Sneak Peek beyond 2014
This year you have the challenge of Mars stirring up trouble at home and yet, it also energizes you in a wonderful way. (You win; you lose.) By 2015, more money comes your way and this leads to a three-year window of hard work. Mercury Retrograde in 2014
Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. These are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.
Dates below are actual retrograde dates and buffer dates. Why? Mercury slows down before it goes retrograde and, likewise, it takes a while to catch up to the degree it was at when it first went retrograde. Use buffer times for big purchases like cars.
