To a Better Year Ahead!
Canada and the US will enjoy an improved financial climate this year as North America moves towards a more solid footing. Family life and especially the rights and care of children will also improve.
Last year Saturn entered Scorpio to stay until September 2015. This means Saturn is now being expressed in a Scorpio style - or to put it another way - the areas that are governed by Scorpio are the ones undergoing strong challenges.
The sign of Scorpio governs sex, secrets, espionage and spying, police detection and criminal activity as well as medicine, plumbing, manufacturing, nuclear fission, television, the military and everything related to death.
Meanwhile the planet Saturn governs all pyramid structures, especially rules and regulations and the government.
When Saturn was last in Scorpio in 1984-86, Indira Gandhi was assassinated, AIDS was discovered, Apple released the first MAC computer, Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to run as a Vice President running mate, Nintendo was released, the Challenger exploded after take off, the Chernobyl disaster occurred and FOX network began. This same energy will pervade in 2014.
Small wonder we have press coverage about NSA spying on its own citizens as well as other countries, plus security leaks and whistle blowers like Edward Snowden. The year 2014 will continue to focus on crime, ruthless politics and overburdened medical systems, as well as exposing illegal surveillance of the public.
The real-estate market will continue to improve until summer, after which it might settle for awhile. From the summer of 2014 and beyond, we can expect improvements and more activity in the arts and the entertainment world. During this same time, there will be a wonderful boost to the hospitality industry, which is good news for restaurants, hotels, resorts and theme parks.
So it's a bad year for spies and a good year for stand-up comedy. Does this mean funny is out of the bag? No more hidden humour?
I agree with Margaret Mead who said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has."
But I also agree with George Carlin who said: "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
Hello 2014!
I say thee yay! This year brings relief and increased happiness. This is welcome news because the last few years have been difficult, especially dealing with others. In a way, it began when you set off on a new path around 1996. But you had to do this and, by 2003, you developed a strong sense of who you were. Nice work. Your next challenge was figuring out how to secure your home. Fortunately, travel opportunities and a chance to enrich your life with further education in 2007 helped your reputation with your peers so that by 2008, you were looking swell! That's why you busted your buns in the next three years to prove to the world what you could do. (Lucky Jupiter in your sign in 2010-11 nicely boosted your confidence.) The year 2014 will be more fortunate for you in your personal world and, later in the year, you will travel to favourite haunts and treat yourself to the good life. Start planning your vacation. (And if you look like your passport photo - you need it.)
Mars Attacks!
The year 2014 will be quite different and here's the skinny: Fiery Mars is your ruler. (This is why you have a short fuse; you're fast on the draw and competitive. Admit it. You want to be first and you like to win.) Once every two years, Mars sits opposite your sign for about seven weeks, hey -- no biggie. But in 2014 -- Holy Fireball! -- Mars sits opposite your sign until August. This hasn't happened since 1981. Since Mars is what makes you feisty, you probably think you'll be tearing a strip off everyone. Well, yes and no. In March, April and May, Mars will be retrograde, which puts a brake on your aggression. You'll be more willing to genuinely look at others and see what it's like to walk a mile in their wedgies. Instead of expressing your anger so quickly, you will be more willing to listen - and talk. But, yes, for the rest of the time, you'll be kinda impatient with others. Be nice.
Money - the Second Most Important Thing
Since 2011, you've been out of the gate and running but disappointments with professional partnerships and co-workers have been tough. These will continue. Expect intense disputes because you're annoyed with others. Even the general public might frustrate you. However, between April and June you will mediate differences and establish a compromise. (Note: Because you're getting less support from others, you need all the co-operation you can get.) You feel rebellious because you want to be free of the restrictions others place on you, as well as the self-imposed restrictions you place on yourself. You want to change your life direction. This is so apparent that others will start to see you differently. Don't let this be a pointless rebellion. Not only will you persevere, you will succeed. But not yet. Part of this equation is coming to terms with other people's values, especially if they differ from yours. But this builds confidence and skillful means! Meanwhile, money from real estate looks good. Later in 2014, there will be chances to advance in the arts, the entertainment world, the hospitality industry and work with children. Soon wonderful opportunities to travel, deal with foreign countries, train, get further education and expand your world will thrill you. But not this year. This year you will test your independence and how to work successfully with others.
Love is Chemistry, Sex is Physics
You're cautious about relationships now because many of you have come out of a broken relationship. (You're not going to jump from the frying pan into the fire.) Even though you're impulsive and headstrong, you've learned some lessons. Good news! In the summer and fall of this year, fabulous new romantic possibilities exist - the best in more than a decade. Love affairs, flirtations, casual dalliances and relationships might blossom into something special. You might meet someone richer, older or more established, or perhaps from a different culture. Meanwhile existing relationships will be happier, more fun-filled and lighthearted. Nevertheless, fiery Mars will oppose you in your House of Partnerships creating conflict with others. (Aagghh.) It will make you easily annoyed with others and judgmental. (The kiss of death for any relationship.) You might also be forced to deal with declared enemies. Serious conflicts could end in defeat. A troubled friendship might end. However, the upside is you will clear the air of unexpressed grievances. But be careful. This is a time of testing with respect to your ability to enjoy close friendships and loving partnerships.
Home Suite Home
Oh joy. Things couldn't be better with home, family and real-estate holdings. We're talking major horseshoes! You're smack dab in one of the luckiest times in 12 years. Now is the time to expand, renovate and buy goodies for your home. You might purchase for the first time, or sell and buy, or speculate in real estate. (Real-estate speculation is good next year as well.) Your home might expand through marriage, birth or adoption or because someone moves in. This same good fortune blesses family relationships making everyone happier, kinder and more generous to each other. Yay, verily I say unto thee, your crops will prosper and there will be joy in the land. But lo! All is not sweetness and light. Partnerships continue to be challenged. (Ouch.) Remedy? Apply patience twice a day and once before bedtime. Fortunately, late in the year (and next year) you'll be rewarded with a fabulous vacation.
A Sneak Peek beyond 2014
In 2015, your job will improve or opportunities for a different job will pave the way for your time of harvest in 2018-21. At this time, your cherished dreams will come true. You'll be proud of your achievements and others will be aware of your success. This is why you need not be discouraged with any challenges at the moment because in a mere four years, your reputation will shine! At that time, you will benefit from the wealth and resources of others, especially through your partner. Ain't life grand?

Mercury Retrograde in 2014
Expect delays, lost items and confused communications! Best to finish things, not begin them. These are poor times to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.
Dates below are actual retrograde dates and buffer dates. Why? Mercury slows down before it goes retrograde and, likewise, it takes a while to catch up to the degree it was at when it first went retrograde. Use buffer times for big purchases like cars.
