Pisces Forecast for 2013

Introduction

Boo-hoo. The year 2013 marks the end, in our lifetime, of those fun dates like 02.02.02 or 12.12.12 (Really cool birthdays.) It does, however, mark the beginning of new cycles and trends. If we look back to when these cycles occurred before, we might see a pattern.

Saturn is now in Scorpio until 2016. The sign Scorpio is all about sex, secrets, the police, the criminal element, the world of spies, medicine, plumbing, manufacturing, nuclear fission, television, and it has a strong link to the military. Saturn is about the government, form and structure, plus rules and regulations.

The last time Saturn was in Scorpio was 1984-86 when Indira Gandhi was assassinated, AIDS was discovered, Apple released the first MAC computer, Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to run as a Vice President running mate, Nintendo was released, the Challenger exploded after take off, the Chernobyl disaster occurred and FOX network began.

When Saturn entered Scorpio in October 2012, within weeks, the media was filled with the Petraeus scandal about the illicit sexual activities of a four-star general who was head of the CIA. A movie waiting to happen!

It's safe to assume this year we can expect a heavier focus on crime prevention. Politics might become more ruthless (if that is possible). Medical systems will be tested and found wanting.

Meanwhile Uranus continues in Aries until 2019. The previous two times when Uranus was in Aries was in 1843-1850 (the California Gold Rush) and 1927-1935 when the price of gold almost doubled.

Neptune is in its own sign of Pisces until 2025. Neptune is glamour! Pisces rules the feet. An interesting manifestation of this is shoe fashions: Look around! More than ever before we see shoes and boots that are over the top. (And over the knee.) Imaginative, high-fashion styles, which until recently were confined to Paris runways, are now on our everyday streets worn by (sometimes limping) eager women. Shoe sellers can be confident this trend will last for the next decade.

Neptune's striving for idealism will permeate society, politics and the arts. Neptune is all about illusion and rules the medium of moving film (a huge illusion). There will be an increase in 3-D movies and television as well as optical inventions and the use of holographic images - perhaps 3-D action happening in the middle of your living room!

Live faces will pop up in e-mails and phone calls as the visual becomes just as important as the content. (Wow, you'll have to be dressed to answer your phone.)

All of Me

Your extreme sensitivity is a two-way street. Not only are your feelings sensitive, you are also highly sensitive in receiving other people's vibes. At times, this can make you too impressionable, too susceptible to external influences. But it also makes you deeply compassionate, caring and self-sacrificing. You are graceful in movement and beautiful in an almost perfect, innocent way. Pisces rules the feet, which is why you dance and love shoes. Music transforms you and is also an escape. You are the master of illusion (smoke and mirrors). In fact, you are so illusory people project what they want to see on you. Because of this, you are frequently misunderstood. Dreams are a big part of your life. Escape into fantasy is the next best thing to travel.

I Did It My Way

In the early '90s, you gave up relationships, jobs and residences to prepare for a major change around 1994-95. This was the beginning of a 12-year cycle of growth for you. It was also the beginning of an eight-year cycle where you would literally reinvent yourself. This was clearly evident by 2001-02. This was also when you worked to secure a home for yourself and your family. By 2002-03, job prospects improved along with your health; then support from others helped you around 2005. But in 2007-09, partnerships were severely challenged. Some ended. Nevertheless, opportunities to boost your name and career were strong then, followed by a popular time in 2008-09. It's been a struggle since 2010 because the resources of others have diminished. Courage!

It Was a Very Good Year

Actually, 2012 brought challenges. Partnerships and close relationships suffered with disputes, arguments and disappointments. Fortunately, your home life was happy and enriching. Family members were generous to each other. In fact, last year and this year are excellent times to explore real-estate opportunities or to invest in your home and improve it. It has been disheartening to feel you have to rely on yourself, with less support from external sources. But you have survived! And this year brings a turning point for the better! (Thank gawd.)

From This Moment On

This year you will feel stronger and more independent. The loss you felt in recent years will subside as you start to suspect you're preparing for something wonderful. And you're right. In about three years, you'll be proud of your achievements! In the meantime, this year promises a great vacation, a huge boost to romance and possibly an increase to family through marriage, birth or adoption. You won't feel like you have to hide from the world anymore. Au contraire! You'll welcome this chance for personal growth, increased wisdom and greater freedom of self-expression.

Nice Work If You Can Get It

If you're a late Pisces, you might still feel discouraged by the lack of support from external sources. However, early Pisces (born in February) and all other Pisces, by late in the year, will feel a sense of release from this concern. This is because you'll start to see a time ahead when cherished dreams will come true. But you're not there yet. This is your time of preparation, which is why further training, education or experience gained from travel will help prepare you for your time of harvest and proud achievements in 2016-17. Many will learn more about metaphysics, philosophy, religion and the study of the law (because legal matters could be challenging). Learn as much as you can! Whatever wisdom you acquire in the next three years will benefit you at the time of your career peak. Because vacations, pleasure, romance, sports and children are such a strong focus this year, some of you might switch jobs to the entertainment world, the hospitality industry, sports or working with children.

The Very Thought of You

You can easily be in love with being in love. (Such a delightful escape from the humdrum of daily routines.) Plus you love to idolize your partner because you want the perfect relationship! Ironically, many of you do have fairytale romances because you have a magical ability to manifest whatever you believe is possible. (It's important to know this.) Your year ahead is perhaps one of the best years for romance you've had since 2001. (And 1990 before that.) You could meet the love of your life! (Possibly someone from a totally different background, country or culture.) These new relationships will touch you in a way you have never experienced before. New love will be lighthearted, fun-loving and adventurous! In part, this is because you're so confident this year. You have the courage to be yourself without fear or apology. (Do buy sexy shoes so you can trip the light fantastic!) Tra-la, tra-la!

For Once in My Life

Your home life will be beautifully enriched this year; it's also a wonderful year for real-estate investments; family will be happier and more generous to each other; and then you enter this fabulous year of vacations, romance, fun and pleasure! What a combo! Also, for the first and only time in your life, your ruler Neptune is in your sign now until 2025. (Whaaat?) You have never experienced this before. It will make you even more compassionate and sensitive to others, and it will increase your "Spidey sense," your fabulous ESP abilities. It will also draw you to explore metaphysics, religion and the more subtle, imaginative aspects of life. It will encourage your idealism. But you will need more sleep - do respect this.

How Deep is the Ocean?

(Your future is so bright you're gonna need shades.) You're coming out of a hard time. First your home life will be enriched, then romance, vacations and creative ventures will thrill you. By 2016-17, job promotions, graduation, or weddings will make you proud and partnerships will bless you. New relationships will be with someone richer or worldlier. In 2017, you benefit from the wealth of others, and the following year, travel opportunities expand your world. And by 2018, your name is up in lights! (Gasp.)

Mercury Retrograde in 2013

Mercury retrograde times are frustrating. They generally occur three times a year for about six-to-eight weeks causing delays, transportation breakdowns, mixed-up communications, missed appointments, lost paper work, misplaced items, computer crashes and server problems. Oy! Newspapers, courier services, the Post Office, accounting firms and service industries get hurt the worst. Furthermore, each Mercury retrograde has its own flavour because it occurs in a different sign.

But they can also be used properly if you're smart. In a nutshell, just avoid some things and try to do others.

What to avoid: Avoid shopping for ground transportation like cars, trucks or bikes. Avoid shopping for items related to communications like phones, answering machines, computers and printers. I get mail asking if it's OK to buy a sofa or a washer or dryer... yes, it is.

What to do: Charge your cell phone. Pay your phone bill. Keep gas in the car and a working flashlight. Smile a lot. You will suffer from delays! Try to anticipate these and do some damage control ahead of time. Tackle repairs. (These will go surprisingly smoothly.) Clean out closets, drawers, desks and cupboards. Finish projects. Do research into the past. Study anything. Contact people from your past. Re-apply for a job. Try to get something you wanted before that fell through. Try again! Organize old photographs. Finish that "to do" list. It is easier to deal with the past than go forward into the future.

There are two sets of dates below: The actual time of Mercury retrograde is on the left. But Mercury slows down ahead of time, and then takes a long time to "catch up" to where it was when it first went retrograde. These longer time periods are on the right. When buying pricey transportation or a computer, I recommend respecting the dates on the right.
