Introduction to 2009 Annual Forecasts
"One ringy-dingy... two ringy-dingy...
Hello? 2009? Is this the party to whom I am speaking?"
It's been said the future is much like the present only longer. And some years (even decades) this is true. But eventually, a turning point occurs. Standards, people and events that were popular are suddenly passe. Winds of change bring new ideas, values and fashions.
This is what is happening now in 2009.
It's happening not just in North America but for the entire world. We see it in our back yards, newspapers and political climates.
Planetary changes are a harbinger of new landscapes. For example, Pluto rules nations -- the masses. And the sign Capricorn rules all pyramid structures, hence all governments. Pluto takes roughly 250 years to slowly move through all 12 signs. In November of 2008, Pluto moved into Capricorn for the first time in 230 years. Verrrrry interesting. Why?
The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was from 1762 to 1779. An interesting period in history. "Does this ring a bell, Pavlov?"
And what about 1776? "Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?"
Or the Battle of the Plains of Abraham? Overnight, Canada was forced to switch from Quiche Lorraine to Fish & Chips!
And a mere decade after Pluto left Capricorn, we had Bastille Day. "Liberty! Equality! Same sex marriage!"
I haven't researched the histories of other countries because newspapers don't pay. If this was an entry in the Encyclopedia Britannica complete with multimedia enhancements, I'm sure I could find similar shifts in power structures elsewhere in the world. (Actually, I doubt that encyclopedias pay either.) Television pays. And yet to watch TV you don't even have to know how to read!
Two things are now coming together. One is super-major, and that is the return of Pluto to Capricorn. Pluto is all about reform. I guarantee that reforms of all kinds will be in fashion for the next 15 years.
All governments will reform education, health care, road systems, political systems, water systems, banking systems, the media (especially television because Pluto rules television,) aviation, airports, radio, light bulbs and anything you can think of that could improve with reforms. (Which is practically everything.)
The influence that shapes this impulse of reformation arrives this year in the form of Jupiter in Aquarius. Aaahh! Aquarius always wants to make the world a better place. (Barack Obama is a Leo with Aquarius Rising.) Aquarius brings about change for the better by rousing the troops at a grass-roots level.
People of like minds will join forces knowing that in numbers they have power. Aquarius is the energy behind unions, Amnesty International, Green Peace and petitions to fight the good fight.
There will be a shift of power to a wider population base. Initially, this base will, of course, be the world of technology. Aquarius rules electricity and computers and high-tech gizmos. We'll be inundated with the laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod, camcorder, cellphone, web page, internet, podcast, blog, twitter and the web.
But if we think this base is the world of the common people - ha! Think again. This world is elitist. Most people on planet Earth have never used a telephone. The majority are still the Great Unwired. Pluto will not ignore them. And Pluto intends to reform.
Third World societies will leapfrog past entire eras of technology because why not? Catch up! Catch up!
Collective action and group effort will bring about change for the better in the immediate future (but sometimes the rallying cry of reform can marginalize the rights of the individual).
Meanwhile, I'm going to exercise my right to get a sexy, shiny, dual-carb, self-cleaning, self-defrosting, drip-dry, power-top, voice-activated, blue-tooth, audio-video tricked-out smart phone. But am I smart enough to use it?
Where's my luck this year?
The year 2009 continues to be powerful for you. People are still impressed with your abilities and your reputation is strong. (Good!) Your career and job prospects are excellent; however, you'll notice a shift at home and in your private world this year. Quite likely, it starts with purchases that make you feel rich and swish. ("Do I really need this?" "Yes!")
Despite the financial climate, the next 18 months are an excellent time for real-estate investment. This includes not only real-estate speculation, but improving your personal digs with goodies. ("My precious!")
Let's put money aside for a moment. (But do remember where it is.) Your family relationships will be enriched and improved in 2009-10. Greater joy and mutual love in all family dealings will be rewarding. You'll be in a position to help others or gift them or be the resource they need. This makes you feel good and, of course, it makes others appreciate you more.
Family gatherings will be fun and full of possibilities to learn and expand the experiences of everyone. This doesn't mean you're sitting around reading Encyclopedia Britannica; more likely, you'll give a family member a camcorder to capture special moments and family events that will be a timeless treasure for everyone in the future. (Kodak paid me to say this.)
Work: The curse of the drinking class
Your ability to apply yourself and get results that make you shine in the eyes of others continues to be excellent. However, at a more subtle level, you're working to establish a balance between enjoying your involvement with others and, at the same time, maintaining your independence and integrity. You want to be part of it all -- but you don't want to sell out.
Since 1999, your confidence has increased. Even though some of you felt shafted around 2001-02, through diligence you persevered and enjoyed recognition around 2005-07.
You still look fabulous but you're starting to think beyond your current success. You know nothing lasts forever, which is why you're contemplating long-term goals for the future. Don't give up on what you're involved in presently. However, prepare for the fact that in a year or two, you'll start to dismantle much of what you created since 1999.
But hark! What light through yonder window breaks? 'Tis scorching Mars come to magnificently boost your ambition! Every two years, Mars sails across the top of your chart where it stays for about seven weeks fiercely arousing your driving force. In October this year, Mars returns, but this time it stays not for seven weeks but seven months! Holy Jackpot! (You'll be eating razor blades for breakfast to keep your cutting edge sharp.)
Yes, you're inspired to achieve something but there's more. Because Mars also rules your muscles, you'll have an extra oomph of competitive energy to attain whatever you attempt. You'll have purpose, desire, and a ruthless ambition (with follow-through) to achieve whatever you want.
Darth Vader ain't got nuttin' on you!
Home suite home
In the early 1990s, you worked to solidify your home base. By 1994-95, many of you had increased responsibilities with children. However, 1999 was a turning point, especially in relationships. From here on, you became more ambitious because you could see what was possible.
Around the turn of the millennium, partnerships were enriching and by 2003 you felt blessed with opportunities!
In 2006, as your confidence increased, you exercised more control in where you lived. Nevertheless, 2009-10 will be one of the best chances you'll ever have to enrich your home and family scene.
For starters, 2009-10 is an excellent time to invest in real estate. (This is where the "good luck" part mentioned earlier comes in.) Whatever you buy will become more valuable or bring you a future profit. You won't regret pouring money into making your home more comfy.
Also your good fortune this year goes beyond your pocketbook. It enriches family relationships. It's easier to get along with everyone! People appreciate you more, in part because you'll have the means to help them.
The next 18 months are a turning point. But certainly your home and private life will become a source of contentment and joy.
Spare change?
Two major factors will affect your financial picture this year. The first is your "good luck," which happens to be everything to do with home and real estate. Your personal assets will increase in value and perhaps expand in volume! (Beyond the empties piling up at the back door.) You'll buy more, collect more and perhaps inherit.
The next 18 months are the best time to make money in real estate that you've had for 12 years. The difference is this time you're in a better position to take advantage of this influence.
The second factor that triggers increased earnings is that by autumn, you determined to do something. You're purposeful and, dare we say, obsessive compulsive? (We did.) Once you set your mind to something, there's no stopping you. But late this year, your resolve seizes you with an all-absorbing intensity. You'll be obsessed! You'll do everything you can to prove yourself. It's a no-brainer to assume that for many this translates into increased earnings. Hence the money to redecorate your home and expand your real estate! Get it?
Does anyone love me?
Surprising, spontaneous love affairs and romantic connections continue to be an impulsive potential. Anything is possible. New relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds are likely.
What is sure to blossom in a lovely way are family relationships. All kinds of feel-good situations will abound both at home and within your family dynamic. Relations with parents in particular will improve. You'll entertain more at home, and people will love you for your hospitality and cutting-edge parties. (Throw food and drink at everyone.)
My sex life (fictitious or otherwise)
You're into recreational sex. (It's your hobby.) You're passionate, intense, obsessive and jealous! (Never betray a Scorpio.) You have endurance and a lusty appetite! You hate cheapskates. If you're going to do something, you do it!
This is an intriguing time for the sex life of Scorpios because wild, wacky Uranus is slowly moving through your House of Romance, making you entertain kinky, experimental ideas. Well, what else can one do? Television is so deplorable these days.
Mantra for 2009
My independence allows me to love and embrace family more freely.
