Georgia Nicols' Sagittarius Forecast for 2009

"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It is already tomorrow in Australia."

Introduction to 2009 Annual Forecasts

"One ringy-dingy... two ringy-dingy...

Hello? 2009? Is this the party to whom I am speaking?"

It's been said the future is much like the present only longer. And some years (even decades) this is true. But eventually, a turning point occurs. Standards, people and events that were popular are suddenly passe. Winds of change bring new ideas, values and fashions.

This is what is happening now in 2009.

It's happening not just in North America but for the entire world. We see it in our back yards, newspapers and political climates.

Planetary changes are a harbinger of new landscapes. For example, Pluto rules nations -- the masses. And the sign Capricorn rules all pyramid structures, hence all governments. Pluto takes roughly 250 years to slowly move through all 12 signs. In November of 2008, Pluto moved into Capricorn for the first time in 230 years. Verrrrry interesting. Why?

The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was from 1762 to 1779. An interesting period in history. "Does this ring a bell, Pavlov?"

And what about 1776? "Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?"

Or the Battle of the Plains of Abraham? Overnight, Canada was forced to switch from Quiche Lorraine to Fish & Chips!

And a mere decade after Pluto left Capricorn, we had Bastille Day. "Liberty! Equality! Same sex marriage!"

I haven't researched the histories of other countries because newspapers don't pay. If this was an entry in the Encyclopedia Britannica complete with multimedia enhancements, I'm sure I could find similar shifts in power structures elsewhere in the world. (Actually, I doubt that encyclopedias pay either.) Television pays. And yet to watch TV you don't even have to know how to read!

Two things are now coming together. One is super-major, and that is the return of Pluto to Capricorn. Pluto is all about reform. I guarantee that reforms of all kinds will be in fashion for the next 15 years.

All governments will reform education, health care, road systems, political systems, water systems, banking systems, the media (especially television because Pluto rules television,) aviation, airports, radio, light bulbs and anything you can think of that could improve with reforms. (Which is practically everything.)

The influence that shapes this impulse of reformation arrives this year in the form of Jupiter in Aquarius. Aaahh! Aquarius always wants to make the world a better place. (Barack Obama is a Leo with Aquarius Rising.) Aquarius brings about change for the better by rousing the troops at a grass-roots level.

People of like minds will join forces knowing that in numbers they have power. Aquarius is the energy behind unions, Amnesty International, Green Peace and petitions to fight the good fight.

There will be a shift of power to a wider population base. Initially, this base will, of course, be the world of technology. Aquarius rules electricity and computers and high-tech gizmos. We'll be inundated with the laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod, camcorder, cellphone, web page, internet, podcast, blog, twitter and the web.

But if we think this base is the world of the common people - ha! Think again. This world is elitist. Most people on planet Earth have never used a telephone. The majority are still the Great Unwired. Pluto will not ignore them. And Pluto intends to reform.

Third World societies will leapfrog past entire eras of technology because why not? Catch up! Catch up!

Collective action and group effort will bring about change for the better in the immediate future (but sometimes the rallying cry of reform can marginalize the rights of the individual).

Meanwhile, I'm going to exercise my right to get a sexy, shiny, dual-carb, self-cleaning, self-defrosting, drip-dry, power-top, voice-activated, blue-tooth, audio-video tricked-out smart phone. But am I smart enough to use it?

Where's my luck this year?

This is an auspicious year for you because the area where you get a boost of good luck is the area that makes you tick. No, it has nothing to do with your gorgeous thighs. (Incidentally, I know stroking them with a feather turns you on, but a whole chicken? Egad!)

Optimism is a survival issue for you. You need to believe something better is coming down the road. Get this: Your injection of good luck this year is to your state of mind! (Yeah, yeah, you wanted to read "bank account.")

Nevertheless, you'll be happier! And busier! Your daily pace will accelerate with short trips and travel opportunities. You'll meet new contacts. New faces will come into your life. Life will be fast-paced, stimulating and upbeat.

Training in a new field and learning opportunities abound. Relations with relatives, especially siblings will improve. But in the bigger picture, your daily outlook is upbeat, optimistic and full of hope.

It's fortunate to have a happy frame of mind because everything you do or say begins with a thought. When your thoughts are positive --voilà! Anything is possible. Expect a lovely 12-18 months ahead full of enthusiastic ideas. "(Aw shucks, Ma'am.")

Work: The curse of the drinking class

One reason you're so happy is this is your time of harvest. Ta-da! It's been 30 years since things were this good.

From 1986 to 1994, you went through mucho changes trying to figure out who you were and what you wanted. You're a future-oriented person; therefore, you need to have goals. But it's tough having goals if you don't know what you want. Aye, there's the rub. (Does this have menthol in it?)

Around 1999, you were working hard. In the new millennium, relationships were testing. (Aagghh!) But by around 2005, you got a better handle on what to aim for.

Finally, in the next 18 months you'll experience the culmination of a dream. For some, the harsh realization that something isn't working might occur. But at least you finally know it. Don't beat yourself up about this -- just move on.

Make the most of this time because you're hot. You're in the right place at the right time saying the right thing to the right person. You know what to do with the cards life deals you. Oh yeah.

Late in the year, even more travel opportunities will arise. (This continues into 2010.) Keep your passport current. Be receptive to travel suggestions. Everything related to education, further schooling and training will be equally blessed. If you can go back to school, do so. You'll be like a kid in a candy store.

Opportunities in publishing and the media will open up. Writers can publish. You'll be creatively turned on. Medicine, higher education and the law are also areas where you'll shine. Life will flow more easily. It's the perfect time to "think big." (Sound like anyone you know?)

Relations with power types are blessed because you project the image of a winner. (Nothing succeeds like the appearance of success.)

Home suite home

Changes and fluctuations to your home scene are likely this year. In truth, in the past few years, many of you have undergone quite a few sudden changes to your home environment. Some of these have been overnight, pail-of-cold-water-in-the-face changes. Aagghh! It's as if some of the most solid aspects of your life are suddenly not reliable. What gives?

Old ties with family members and close friends were broken or are now showing indications of doing so. Basically, problems you were ignoring or not acknowledging suddenly burst open. "Whaaat? Since when?"

If something is not working for you in your own home, you will change it now. You're not going to put up with ongoing headaches anymore. Naturally this forces you to re-evaluate what your priorities are.

Work-related travel plus the success you're now achieving with your career could catapult you into a residential move. With your adventurous spirit, this is highly likely. If you do decide to move, don't worry. This is happening at a time when you're strong.

Spare change?

The money will start to pour in this year for three reasons. One is the timely influence of your ruler moneybags Jupiter, which will magnify and increase your earnings and your assets through possessions and property.

Furthermore, this goes hand-in-hand with the fact that this is your time of harvest! It's your turn for success and making your dreams a reality.

And the third is you're a lucky dreamer. You really are. You have big ideas and you pull them off. Hey -- Walt Disney, Andrew Carnegie and J. Paul Getty were all Sagittarians. (I rest my handbag.)

When these three influences come together you'll enjoy increased travel, prestige and recognition. How easy success breeds a super-positive attitude! "More whiskey! And fresh horses for my men!"

You believe in miracles, overnight success and the power of positive thinking. You're a fantastic self-promoter. You're so good-natured and adventurous, you're the only sign who could arrive home to discover your house burned to the ground and then think with secret curiosity, "What next?"

You've definitely got coin in your pocket this year.

Does anyone love me?

Everyone loves a Sagittarius. That's because when the going gets tough, you party! In fact, you work hard; you party hard. And you love the outdoors. And animals. And money. We have covered your great loves.

In truth, your positive attitude will attract people to you this year. And your success will do the same. (Everyone loves a winner.) Sexy Mars will promote relations with people from different backgrounds, especially other countries and cultures. Because fiery Mars is staying for such a long time in "your home" -- the Ninth House -- you'll feel defiantly free to be who you really are.

Relationships that begin now will be based in a reality you can relate to.

My sex life (fictitious or otherwise)

You gamble with love, and you enjoy teasing. Nevertheless you're direct, forthright and honest. (Sometimes too honest!) You certainly need your freedom; yet you need to be entertained. Boring lovers are left in the dust. "Next?"

By October 2009 and for most of 2010, you're passionately turned on and ready to party. People who are quite different from you, especially from a different background or culture will appeal. Down deep, you seek someone who challenges you. ("She can't speak English but what a dancer!")
