Introduction to 2009 Annual Forecasts
"One ringy-dingy... two ringy-dingy...
Hello? 2009? Is this the party to whom I am speaking?"
It's been said the future is much like the present only longer. And some years (even decades) this is true. But eventually, a turning point occurs. Standards, people and events that were popular are suddenly passe. Winds of change bring new ideas, values and fashions.
This is what is happening now in 2009.
It's happening not just in North America but for the entire world. We see it in our back yards, newspapers and political climates.
Planetary changes are a harbinger of new landscapes. For example, Pluto rules nations -- the masses. And the sign Capricorn rules all pyramid structures, hence all governments. Pluto takes roughly 250 years to slowly move through all 12 signs. In November of 2008, Pluto moved into Capricorn for the first time in 230 years. Verrrrry interesting. Why?
The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was from 1762 to 1779. An interesting period in history. "Does this ring a bell, Pavlov?"
And what about 1776? "Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?"
Or the Battle of the Plains of Abraham? Overnight, Canada was forced to switch from Quiche Lorraine to Fish & Chips!
And a mere decade after Pluto left Capricorn, we had Bastille Day. "Liberty! Equality! Same sex marriage!"
I haven't researched the histories of other countries because newspapers don't pay. If this was an entry in the Encyclopedia Britannica complete with multimedia enhancements, I'm sure I could find similar shifts in power structures elsewhere in the world. (Actually, I doubt that encyclopedias pay either.) Television pays. And yet to watch TV you don't even have to know how to read!
Two things are now coming together. One is super-major, and that is the return of Pluto to Capricorn. Pluto is all about reform. I guarantee that reforms of all kinds will be in fashion for the next 15 years.
All governments will reform education, health care, road systems, political systems, water systems, banking systems, the media (especially television because Pluto rules television,) aviation, airports, radio, light bulbs and anything you can think of that could improve with reforms. (Which is practically everything.)
The influence that shapes this impulse of reformation arrives this year in the form of Jupiter in Aquarius. Aaahh! Aquarius always wants to make the world a better place. (Barack Obama is a Leo with Aquarius Rising.) Aquarius brings about change for the better by rousing the troops at a grass-roots level.
People of like minds will join forces knowing that in numbers they have power. Aquarius is the energy behind unions, Amnesty International, Green Peace and petitions to fight the good fight.
There will be a shift of power to a wider population base. Initially, this base will, of course, be the world of technology. Aquarius rules electricity and computers and high-tech gizmos. We'll be inundated with the laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod, camcorder, cellphone, web page, internet, podcast, blog, twitter and the web.
But if we think this base is the world of the common people - ha! Think again. This world is elitist. Most people on planet Earth have never used a telephone. The majority are still the Great Unwired. Pluto will not ignore them. And Pluto intends to reform.
Third World societies will leapfrog past entire eras of technology because why not? Catch up! Catch up!
Collective action and group effort will bring about change for the better in the immediate future (but sometimes the rallying cry of reform can marginalize the rights of the individual).
Meanwhile, I'm going to exercise my right to get a sexy, shiny, dual-carb, self-cleaning, self-defrosting, drip-dry, power-top, voice-activated, blue-tooth, audio-video tricked-out smart phone. But am I smart enough to use it?
Where's My Luck This Year?
Kiss, kiss, hug, hug. This year your popularity rating is off the charts! Everyone loves you. Now is the time to join clubs and organizations, or finally show up at that AGM you avoid for fear of nomination. Friendships will be enriched. But get this: these associations go beyond mere enjoyment - people will help you this year!
You're idealistic in 2009. You have big hopes and ambitious dreams. Because others benefit you this year, your contacts through friends and groups can make these dreams a reality.
A big part of your good fortune this year is your positive frame of mind. You're thinking big! As a result, many of you will introduce reforms to improve your sandbox. Please note: the nature off this lucky influence works like this: The extent to which you can improve the lives of others will affect how long lasting and how big your own benefits will be.
The last time you had this lucky celestial boost was in 1997 and 1985. But in 1985, you faced a loss of support from others (perhaps through divorce or separation.) And in 1997, you were just starting out on a new path. But this year - ha! -- you've been busting your buns since 2007. Hello? You've made your bones.
Work - the Curse of the Drinking Class
You were riding high around 1988. "Look Ma! No hands!" That was a time of achievement, culmination and glory. Perhaps you graduated from school or got the promotion of your dreams. You did yourself proud. Earnings looked good then as well. But in the mid 90s, many of you changed jobs, or sought a better fortune. By 1996-97, you were on a new track that has culminated 10 years later in this current window of hard work.
Now hear this. Your rewards are almost at hand! (The key is under the mat and the role of hundreds is in the cookie jar on the fridge.) This is your final year of preparation before you step out onto the stage next year. That's when applause, adulation and recognition are yours. (I hope Mom is watching.)
If 1988-89, and 1996-97 and 2003-04 were pivotal years in your life (and I bet my last loony they were) than 2010-11 (just 12-18 months from now) will be your turn to announce to the world, "I'm in the game. I'm a player. Count me in!" It will be your "Ta da!" moment. (Into every life a little Ta da! must fall.) Your focus will be primarily on your external world for the first time since 1994. The last 14 years were more about getting your act together. By next year, you're going to take it on the road.
Because this time of recognition is so close, keep working hard. If you're involved in creative projects, sports, working with children or the entertainment world, show business or the hospitality industry, you'll be super productive by the end of this year. I smell success coming!
Many of you made a name for yourself last year. Small wonder the next two years are your entry into the place where you'll climb to your career peak around 2018. (When they honour you in a wax museum, make sure there's no wick coming out of your head.)
Home Suite Home
Inheritances or direct assistance from others helped you improve your digs and your family situation in 2006. However, looking back, it was around 2002 when you really expanded or solidified your home and real estate scene. In fact, that year, your family scene became richer and more joyful. Some of you literally expanded your family.
A number of you will opt to be self-employed this year. This was either triggered last November, or possibly in February or September of this year. As a result you might be working from home, or more involved with your domestic world.
An unusual planetary influence kicks in during October and lasts for 34 weeks. This highlights children in your life. Some of you will be much more involved working with children or training children or having children! This same window of time (mid October to June 2010) highlights your creative output. This could be a sign of more activity for those who work from studios at home or are involved in arts and crafts. After all, you're the artisan of the zodiac! (Who else could have so many unfinished projects?)
Spare Change?
Because many of you improved your job in 2004, you might have boosted your earnings as well. The turn of the millennium is certainly a time when many of you dreamt up clever, moneymaking schemes or got a raise at work. In truth, you're more motivated by fame than by money. Money is just one way you keep score. (Perhaps this is why you often end up making money for others.)
Nevertheless, because you're spontaneous and very much living in the moment plus you're extravagant with yourself and definitely generous to others -- you need dough! "Live now -- pay later" is your style.
Look to partnerships and your involvement with groups to boost your income this year. But I suspect you won't see a real leap in your earnings until 2010-11. Until then, cut back on impulse buying. Unless of course, you can't afford to live within your income. If so, set up a budget, which of course won't keep you from spending - but it will make you feel guilty when you do!
Does Anyone Love Me?
Have I got news for you! Most of you know your ruling planet is Mars. Did you know that Mars rules your sex drive? Normally, Mars stays in each sign for about 7 weeks, then moves on to the next sign. In October this year, fiery Mars enters your House of Love and Romance where it unpacks its Henk luggage and moves in -- not for 7 weeks but for 7 months! Holy Astroglide! Nothing risque - nothing gained.
My Sex Life (Fictitious or Otherwise)
You're passionate and impulsive! And you're a sucker for a uniform. You watch to see who makes the first move, and it's often you. You toy with the dominance thang. Sometimes you're the warrior; sometimes you're the slave. (But not for long!) You like to fight and have makeup sex. Dangerous or public places turn you on. ("Can we get away with this?")

I love helping others and I love it when they help me.
