Georgia Nicols' Libra Forecast for 2008

"I've known what it is to be hungry, but I always went right to a restaurant."

Ring Lardner

Your Secret Past

If we go way back, there's no doubt you reinvented yourself in the 80s. Think about it: from 1979 to 1991? Total change! After struggling with decisions about where to live, and then which career direction to take, you started to be very productive around 1994. You hustled your buns until you started to get some serious recognition for your efforts around 1996-97. That's when people began to take you seriously. That's when you stepped up to the plate to take a bow. Although praise and accolades might have come your way, disappointments in relationships were also likely then. Some ended.

Nevertheless, you were out of the gate and running. By the turn of the millennium, something threw you back on your own resources. You had to depend on yourself more. But by 2001, you set your sights on something. You achieved your goal and felt proud of yourself in 2003-04. Others were proud of you, too.

Last year, things began to shift. This shift will continue for about two more years. You're going through a time when you'll be dismantling much of what you created since the mid-90s. You'll be letting go of people, places and possessions. But fear not, you only have to give up what you don't really need any more. And hey -- nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Attack from Mars!

Mars rules war and aggression. It also rules our muscles, and how we assert ourselves in all our relationships. Mars takes about two years to orbit the planet so it stays in each sign for about seven weeks. But lo! Due to a celestial dustup, Mars entered Cancer on Sept 28th, 2007 and doesn't move on to Leo until May 9th, 2008. That's over six months! (During that time it actually slips back into Gemini for a little while.) The last time this happened was 1975-76.

This particular sojourn of Mars really turns your crank. It makes you want to explore different realities and new worlds. Some of you will want to travel; others will go back to school. All of you want something different to happen in your life. You don't want it to be the same old, same old anymore.

You might suddenly pick up and move somewhere quite different. You're seeking stimulation, change and the excitement of living in a new environment. And you will do this because since Mars is so high in your chart for so long, it will zap your ambition and motivation so that you actually make things happen. (If you do take the plunge -- return it by Wednesday.)

Introduuuucing - 2008!!

The New Year Begins

Because you love to schmooze and socialize so much, it's no surprise that most of you will start this year with a hangover. (Ah yes, the wrath of grapes.) But your hangover extends beyond the morning-after feeling (the painful burden of proof) into most of January. That's why you'll want to stay home and hunker down in a comfy, thumb-sucking way to ponder your most intimate, personal life. Hang out with family or just by yourself. You need to catch your breath! Use this month to regroup and find your bearings.

You'll be glad you got some rest in January because February suddenly wild, wacky and full of fun. Parties, vacations, romance, love affairs, plus an increased interest in the arts, the theatre and all other kinds of social diversions will keep you sleep deprived and laughing. It's a wonderful, fun filled month. It's your turn to just be you. (Who else?)

No sin goes unpunished. By March, it's back to the salt mines. However, you won't mind because you feel revved up and ready to work. Suddenly, you want order in your life. You want a home for everything. You want fresh flowers everywhere. (Did you know that if you put out fresh flowers you don't have to dust?) You're also turning over a new leaf with respect your health. Stay strong and healthy so that you can continue to party! Romance is still wonderfully promising.

Spring is Sprung

Relationships assume big focus for you in April. Casual partnerships could become committed. Existing partnerships will undergo some soul searching and deep discussions. You'll enjoy your job, in part because your ambition is so strong now. Coworkers are sweet and supportive.

May is frankly sexy and passionate. Could it be the weather? Is it that feeling that everything is pushing up out of the ground? In spring, thoughts turn to love. Relationships will be affectionate and deeply communicative. Home life is happy because you're doing something to enrich, or improve or expand where you live.

The travel bug will bite you in June. Let's hope you can pop a jet and explore the world. At least be a tourist in your own town. Your appreciation of beauty is heightened then. Enjoy galleries, museums, parks and art openings. Lectures, and classes at school will delight you because you're eager to learn now. Be patient with a friend who is at odds with you.

Salad Days of Summer

This summer you're very aware of your role in society in general. Bosses, VIPs and parents notice you more than usual. As you look around you, you see that

Gandhi was right. Western civilization would be a good idea. (He too, was Libra.) A romance with your boss is possible. People in authority are certainly impressed with you. Expect to be involved in artistic matters such as design, layout work, redecorating or schmoozy PR stuff to put an attractive spin on things.

In August, you're in your element. It's cha cha time! Everyone wants to see your face. Friendships flourish. Friends become lovers, and lovers become friends.

Back to School

All this September activity is exhausting. Just do enough to get by. Hide as much you can. Stock up on good books, videos, or whatever you do to keep your boat afloat. Since your birthday is approaching, which means a whole new year is opening up for you, it's a good time to think about what you want your future to be all about. (It's wise to ponder the future -- you're going to spend the rest of your life there.)

In October, the Sun, Mercury and Mars are all in your sign. It's all about you now! This is one time of year when you should put yourself first. With all this activity in Libra you will easily attract favorable circumstances and people to you. Great! You want attention and action! Party on! (Now that summer is over, your neighbours will return the lawn chairs.)

Freeze That Frame

You've got money on your mind in November. Not only are you dreaming up new ways to earn money, or win it, or find it -- you're excited about buying things as well. That's because you identify with what you own now. And your desires for beautiful things are strong. Veni vidi Visa. We came, we saw, we went shopping.

Naturally, December is busy. It's the holiday season and you're highly social sign. Plus you love an excuse to look great. You always know what color is in style. Thoreau was right, "Every generation laughs at the old fashions but religiously follows the new." Go out in full dazzle. Entertain at home. You can do it all. Be friendly and enjoy the company of everyone. (Clones are people two.)

Your Mantra for 2008

How I improve my home and family will help me for the rest of my life.

Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall

In the next few years, you will begin to clear the slate. Since the mid-90s, you created a certain structure your life. Much of this works; and some of it doesn't. Some things are extraneous, no longer relevant, and just not worth the bother anymore. These are the things you will start to give up. You're going to downsize possessions, places and people. That's because you're creating space for something new to happen in 2010. You won't let go of what you really need. This is not a time of loss -- it's just lightening up.

Libra Luck for 2008

Tolstoy said, "Happy families are all alike..." In the coming year, you'll enjoy your home and your family scene more than you have for years! The details of what will transpire will be different for each of you; however, the bottom line will be the same. You'll love where you live. You'll have richer, warmer, more affectionate relations with family members. You'll feel happier in your private life.

Plus your wealth will increase in terms of whatever you own at home, especially your real estate. This is the best year in 12 years for you to buy real estate or invest in real estate. Similarly, it's a wonderful year for you to invest in your home and do anything to improve it or enhance it. Whatever you do will be profitable in the future.

The area that is so beautifully blessed is not just home and family, it's your inner, private world. Whatever is happening inside of you is naturally reflected in your external world and your surroundings and all your relationships. Since you're going to be feeling so personally happy this year (warm feeling in your tummy and all that) this inner happiness will ripple out touching your loved ones, your acquaintances and everyone and everything around you.

Joy is a powerful thing because a joy that is shared is a joy made double! (Kinda like the flu only different.)

2008 and a Sneak Preview Ahead...

This is a time of major transition. (The last time similar celestial circumstances occurred was 1978-1980.) You're finishing a major cycle, but not yet ready to begin a new one. It's a time of endings and letting things go. You'll do things and not get the same response. Puzzling? It just means it's time to move on. Ditto with some relationships. You're slowly clearing the decks to get ready for 2010-11 when you'll enter a whole new scene. This is the beginning of a new growth cycle for you where you will redefine yourself in so many ways.

In fact, the scene might be so different it requires a chance of wardrobe. (New job, new climate?) About six years from now, you'll enter a window of circumstantial change where you change your job or your residence. By 2018, you'll be a new person in a new situation seeing the world through new eyes. Don't worry. You'll still believe in something worthwhile. Atheism doesn't have enough holidays!
