Your Secret Past
In the late 80s, for many of you it was like the dark night of the soul. Loss and change were difficult. However, by around 1989, you pulled yourself up by your bootstraps. No sign bounces back from adversity better than you. You believe -- no pain, no gain. It's that hair shirt mentality (which doesn't mean you don't have cashmere in your closet. Ya think? You can spot a Louis Vuitton at ten paces!)
The mid 90s were a time residential moves and job changes. By the late 90s, you were determined to secure a solid home for yourself. Some of you moved again then; others made extensive renovations or repairs to where you lived. You like a home that looks good, especially from the outside. And you work hard to secure your long-term future. (You save for a rainy day.) And because you're a long-lived sign (you look amazingly young in later years!) -- you focus on your security. You know old age is not for sissies.
By 2003-04, you got some recognition for your years of hard work. However, some relationships ended then. Travel and educational opportunities sweetened things in 2004. By 2005, you enhanced your reputation and career opportunities, even though support from others dwindled.
In the last few years, you've had to get along with less, in terms of assistance from other sources. (This is temporary.) But you learned a lot. Good judgment comes from experience; and experience comes from bad judgment. Go figure.
Attack from Mars!
Mars rules war and aggression. It also rules our muscles, and how we assert ourselves in all our relationships. Mars takes about two years to orbit the planet so it stays in each sign for about seven weeks. But lo! Due to a celestial dustup, Mars entered Cancer on Sept 28th, 2007 and doesn't move on to Leo until May 9th, 2008. That's over six months! (During that time it actually slips back into Gemini for a little while.) The last time this happened was 1975-76.
This lengthy sojourn of Mars directly opposite your sign is going to stir the pot with partnerships and close friends. As you are well aware, this has already been going on for some months! Friends come and go but enemies accumulate. You can handle this. Start every day with a smile and get it over with. Just kidding.
It's true that Mars could intensify conflict with others. However, it's also a time when you have a chance to express repressed grievances and put your cards on the table. Maybe this will clear the air? You certainly have a right to express your point of view. You also have skillful means with diplomacy, which means you'll handle this dance with delicacy. (You also know if you love your enemies, it drives them crazy!)

The New Year Begins
Dahling, mahvelous news! For the first time in 12 years, lucky, moneybags Jupiter is in your sign. Yeehaw! (I would never kid a Capricorn. Too many of you sit on the boards of the biggest companies in the country.) Jupiter is going to stay in your sign all year, which is like holding a pair of Aces, and getting two more in the flop.
The year begins strong for you as does every year, because the New Year always starts out on your birthday month. (How did you swing that?) This means you begin each year with an extra oomph of energy and luck. You come out of the gate with the ability to attract opportunities and favourable people to you. You recharge your batteries for the rest of the year, and you have the first chance to do this, every time. Could this be why you're such a long-lived sign?
In February, your focus is on earning money, and coming up moneymaking ideas. It's a lovely month because both Venus and Jupiter are in your sign promoting harmony in all relationships. Spring is Sprung
In April, you need to use all your diplomacy and charm to maintain peace with partners and close friends. Your focus is definitely on home, family and real estate. On the whole, you're happy; and in particular, you see just how much love there is around you. It's a time of appreciation; yet, tension with others does exist. It's a mixed bag. When others provoke you, don't take the bait.
Romance, love affairs, parties and fun times are where it's at in May. You're turned on by the warmer weather. Social invitations pour in. It's a great month to participate in or watch sports. Do slip away on a vacation if you can. And remain patient with partners and friends because this prolonged tension is almost over. Gasp!

Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
Actually, you're looking at a rather balmy weather ahead. (Lucky devil.) Your greatest challenge right now is simply learning something new. Jump at opportunities to get increased training or education in any way that you can. And jump on a chance to travel somewhere to learn something new. You can't always travel for fun - lots of people travel for business. That way when you have fun somebody else pays for it. Of course, nothing is ever really free. Even kisses, which are lip activity without calorie content have their price.
Capricorn Luck for 2008
It's no exaggeration to say that you are the luckiest sign this year. If you've got it baby -- flaunt it!
The last time Jupiter was in your sign was 1996. However, it's placement that year was not at all as strong as it is this year. Why? Because at that time, although Jupiter was in your sign bringing you wonderful good fortune, Saturn was in Aries making a harsh aspect to Jupiter. (Grrr.) The two planets were not only not working together, they were actually "fighting" each other.
In 2008, while Jupiter is back in your sign once again, this time Saturn is in Virgo, your fellow Earth sign. Thus time the two signs make a lovely trine which is a good thing. They'll work beautifully together. This fortunate situation might not happen again this century. Hello?
Therefore, get the lead out. Recognize that this is a fortunate set of circumstances for you right now, today, this week, this month, this year. Don't dillydally or procrastinate.

2008 and a Sneak Preview Ahead...
This most definitely is the year of preparation for you. You're preparing for an important window of time in 2010 - 2016 when you will enjoy the pleasures of accomplishment in whatever you're pursuing at the moment.
If you're in school, you will graduate in a few years. If you're working, in a few years, you will receive a promotion or reach a stage that gives you pride of achievement. If you're single, you might get married. If you want to have children, then this might happen. In other words, a few years from now is when the seeds you're planting now will ripen.
Around 2015- 17, you'll let go of things and move on to create a new world for yourself in 2118. The letting go is not necessarily loss. It's more of a lightening up. You'll be giving up things that are no longer relevant or useful. They'll be people, places and experiences that you've outgrown.
But don't look too far down the rabbit hole. You have not yet arrived where you want to go. And remember: the harder you work, the luckier you get!
