Georgia Nicols' Cancer Forecast for 2006
"Laughter is the shortest distance between two people."
Victor Borge
(1909 - 2000)
The Year 2006
In 2006, Saturn is in Leo for the entire year for the first time since 1977. (Many will see a correlation.) This will give enduring form to creative expression! (The movie Star Wars, which opened in 1977 has become part of our culture's artistic icons.)
Saturn will encourage a concrete expression of theatre and the arts at both personal and civic levels. It will also encourage a stricter more traditional methodology in schools.
Jupiter's passage through Scorpio will alter how we deal with death. In the 50s, we built schools and playgrounds for the Baby Boomers. This year we will lay the groundwork to help them die with dignity and loving support. (Death will be a big business by 2013-14.)
In many ways, new opportunities will arise out of situations of loss. "May the Force be with you."
The Envelope Please...
It's been said you're moody. (You heard the rumour?) But gawd, you're funny! You're a sensitive, down-home sign, who understands that humour is based on our foibles and fears. (Along with fellow Cancers Robin Williams, Will Ferrell and others.) But hey, what's with the stuffed closets, cupboards, lockers and basements? You can't let go of anything! ("I might use this someday.") Six hundred Grolsh bottles? But you're a great host. You can feed a small country with 5 minutes notice. You're compassionate, sympathetic, hard working, tenacious, mechanical and protective. You nurture plants, people, and the land. You like cozy. You can operate two cameras and a boat while you garden, cook and entertain. And you're practical. You know a New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.
Your Shady Past
In the early 80s, you wanted to set down roots and establish stability for yourself. You worked hard (especially in 1987-88). However by 1989, relationships were stressed. Perhaps that was because you started to take your power then. 1990 was a pretty good year but by 1991-94, you lost support from others. But you were back on your feet by 1995, and looking swell in the next few years! Things got tough at the millennium when you gave up people, places and relationships. By 2003, you put yourself on a new track. This was easy. You're not a sign that welcomes change. You feel most comfortable with what is thumb sucking familiar.
Which brings us to 2006
At this stage in your life, employment is a concern. You want to know what to do to earn a living. If you're retired, then this concern runs a little deeper. It's more than just how to earn money -- it's what to do with it? Were talking basic values. You want to know what really matters. You don't want to be looking in the mirror when you're 88, muttering, "I blew it." That's your question. What horse do you bet on? Fortunately, 2006 is a beneficial time for home, family and real estate. You feel content and happy with your domestic scene. (And it's profitable year for real estate.) Many of you will take a vacation or explore vacation property. Romance is also promising. Some will expand your families. (Pink or blue?) It's no exaggeration to say this year might be one of the happiest years of your life.
Is the future like the present only longer?
It's time to take stock of your life. You now have increased opportunities to enjoy life, have fun, explore romance, take a vacation, and tap into your creative potential (this includes making babies or being involved with children.) Woo woo! But in another way, you have to grow up. (Don't knock it.) Take a look at your life and your values to determine whether or not they work for you. Do you know what you want? If you don't know what you want, how can you make good choices? You want to be happy. But do you know what makes you happy? Don't wait until you lose something before you appreciate its value. You're searching to discover what you need to be content. When you clearly define this to yourself, you'll know what to do.
In a galaxy far far away...
Even though this year is quite cushy, comfortable and emotionally and financially rewarding, by 2007 the winds of change start to blow. Around 2007-2009, most of you will feel a shift in your job or your residence or both. And about four years down the road, once again, you'll be keen to establish a firm, permanent residence for your family. If you don't change residence, then you'll do major renovations or repairs at that time. However, your job scene looks great in 2007-08. And relationships blossom beautifully in 2-3 years. (That's nice.)
My Mantra for 2006
The more I let go, the more I have.
Be the best you can be
Peter Ustinov said, "Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious." (He made commercials for American Express to pay off his American Express.) You're the glue in the world. You keep the home fires burning. Your efforts hold family and friends together. You're a healer at the most basic level. You feed others, literally, emotionally and psychologically. But you can fall into self-pity and depression by not recognizing how important your role is in other people's lives. When you fail to see this, you withdraw. Ever wonder why you attract people who don't understand their feelings? You provide an emotional support and outlet for them. You teach people how to understand, deal with and express their emotions. Pretty tall order. ("Can you pass me a Kleenex? And is there any more of that sweet potato pecan soufflé?")
Stuff Every Self-respecting Cancer Knows
Cancer the Crab is a Water sign ruled by the Moon. It is a Feminine Cardinal sign. (The Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. They're the signs of the changing seasons - the switch hitters. They initiate things and act on their ideas. They make things happen. "Let's have a New Year's party!") Cancer rules the breasts, the esophagus and the stomach. (The kitchen is where it's at.) The Fourth House is your domain and it rules Home, Family and Real Estate. Guard against diabetes, rheumatism, and chest or stomach problems. Your state of mind hugely affects these areas.
Cancer in the Bedroom
This is the best year for romance in over a decade. So, use it! Do not delay. You're overly cautious at the beginning. (The crab moves sideways never forward.) You protect yourself. That's okay. You're allowed. We know you hate criticism; your feelings are easily hurt. Find a lover who knows you have a sensitive heart. After all, you're in it for the long haul. Till death do we part. Joined at the hip and the bank. You need the reassurance of someone else's steady love (which you fear you will never find.) Once you have that, you're so hooked, you'll end up staying in the wrong relationship too long. (Every time.) Just remember: before you decide to fall hard for someone, ask yourself, have they paid off their student loan?
