Georgia Nicols' Aries Forecast for 2006

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?"
Nelson Mandela (b.1918 -)

The Year 2006

In 2006, Saturn is in Leo for the entire year for the first time since 1977. (Many will see a correlation.) This will give enduring form to creative expression! (The movie Star Wars, which opened in 1977 has become part of our culture's artistic icons.)

Saturn will encourage a concrete expression of theatre and the arts at both personal and civic levels. It will also encourage a stricter more traditional methodology in schools.

Jupiter's passage through Scorpio will alter how we deal with death. In the 50s, we built schools and playgrounds for the Baby Boomers. This year we will lay the groundwork to help them die with dignity and loving support. (Death will be a big business by 2013-14.)

In many ways, new opportunities will arise out of situations of loss. "May the Force be with you."

The Envelope Please...

Aries begins with the Vernal Equinox. (Riff: National Film Board 'signs of Spring' music.) Yes, you're Numero Uno. You start things. (Let's not talk about finishing.) You're determined, straight arrow and passionate. You succeed because you have motivation and will. You hate boredom; therefore you explore the unknown. You don't take anything lying down. (Uh, except for - you know.) Life is a grand experiment. Your courage and bravery are genuine; yet you're sweet, sentimental, and loyal to friends. You do things with zest; and you're marvelous with your hands. (You build, sew, knit, garden, cook, draw, paint, carve, explore, invent and give great massage.) You're the warrior Hero of the zodiac. You look fabulous in shades. We love your hats and zany wardrobe. (But zebra pants?)

Your Shady Past

It's been life in the passing lane since 1981. Things looked swell in1989, which is why you feathered your nest in 1990. What happened in 94-95? Oy! Bad Day at Black Rock. But you survived this loss. By 1996, it was a whole new game. (With new clothes to make the most of new opportunities.) Thank goodness 1997 was popular. (You need a cheering peanut gallery.) Good things came your way in 1999, which triggered residential moves and job changes around 2001. Vacations and pleasure energized you to fix up your home in 2003-04. But let's pause for station identification: Do you see how you reinvented yourself from 1996 to 2003? Better yet -- look back to who you were in 1994. You don't even dress like that now!

Which brings us to 2006

Lately you've been hemorrhaging cash like there's no tomorrow. Your money scene has improved, but it would look better if you cut back on your plastic. (Put your credit cards on the bottom of your ice cube tray. This freezes impulse spending.) The good news is moneybags Jupiter in Scorpio means other people are good to you this year! Gifts, goodies and favours, including extended hospitality and the use of other people's possessions come to you all through 2006. If you're in a partnership, your partner will earn more. Many will receive an inheritance. It's as if the universe owes you a favour! That's not all: your gonads are in overdrive. Sex will be wonderful. (The last time it was this good was 1994. Isn't it fun having fun?)

Is the future like the present only longer?

You're making money, spending money, enjoying yourself, and benefiting from the generosity of others. But privately, you still wonder what you want to be when you grow up. By the end of 2006, you'll encounter a Herculean task. That's when the grind begins. Expect to work hard in 2007-08. At times you'll feel overwhelmed. But the end result is a new, improved you. Rewards will come to you on a silver platter then. You'll make new insights about yourself. A shift in your belief system might occur. Your physical body will be strong. You'll throw off illness, and improve your physical appearance. By 2007, fabulous opportunities connected with publishing, the media, the legal system, and medicine will arise. Some will go back to school. Most will travel because you'll have the chance to do so. (Money talks, chocolate sings!)

In a galaxy far far away...

About three years from now, you're going to step up to the plate and demand attention. "Director on the set!" Your hard work starts to bring tangible benefits and recognition. The only downside is the stress your success brings to relationships. You'll be so dialed into your career, you're distracted from your partner's complaints, "Hey, what am I? Chopped liver?" At that point, you have to decide whether to have liver and onions or move on to something else. ("Is there any Satay chicken left?")

My Mantra for 2006

I deserve the generosity coming my way this year - strings or no strings.

Be the best you can be

In this world of specialization, people distrust those who are good at many things. They dismiss your expertise if you've had no formal training. They also dismiss your future claims because of that trail of unfinished projects in your wake. (So what? Call them works in progress.) You really are as good as you suspect you are! Factoid. Your sign was the 'first' to do it all. Aries is not a pioneer, you are THE pioneer. You discover the way, and the rest of us follow. You fight for what is right. You defend the just. You sway the fence sitters. You teach others to have the courage of their convictions. People fear change. You show us how to embrace new beginnings. You teach leadership by demonstrating independent thinking, courage and action. (Where do I sign?)

Stuff Every Self-respecting Aries Knows

Your ruling planet is Mars. Your animal is the Ram; and your astrological colour is Red. Aries is 'Masculine' and your element is Fire; and you're a Cardinal sign. (The Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. They're the signs of the changing seasons - the switch hitters. They initiate things. They're idea people. They make things happen. "Anyone for tennis?" Sound familiar?) There are disagreements about gemstones; so I'm not even going there. Naturally, you rule the First House. And who's surprised to learn that Aries rules the head and the adrenals? Did you know that the best place for the Sun to be is in Aries? You could say this means you're the best sign! (Don't quote me on that - I'll deny it.)

Aries in the Bedroom

You love a good romp in the hey you! You enjoy sex and you're not afraid to make the first move. (Yes, you're shy. It's complicated, isn't it?) You love adventure and fresh discovery. Since you like to win, you love the chase, which inevitably leads to conquest. You're confused about relationships because you love your freedom, yet you adore babies. (Coochie coo!) You hang where the action is -- anything from a dude ranch to parties, live music, art exhibitions and sporting events. You like things up-tempo. You adore playing kissyface and smooching. Not only are you energetic -- you have endurance! (Mars rules the muscles.) This year your sex drive is more amped than it's been in over a decade. Wooha!
