Georgia Nicols' Cancer Forecast for 2004
"A ship in the harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are built for."
(Unknown)
In 2003, Mars came closer to planet Earth than it's been for 60,000 years and then teamed up with explosive Uranus. This combo created explosions no one expected. (Uranus rules electricity, technology and all things unpredictable; while Mars rules fire and aggression.)
The good news is that this wild tension is over. 2004 will definitely be calmer. That's a relief for those of us who have an irresistible urge to go on living...
Happy New Year to you all!

Cancer 2004 Forecast
The Real You
Let's face it, you're the Big Tit. Who's more nurturing than you? You're protective with everyone and everything. You'll nurse a pot of soup, an ailing plant, a sick friend, even a community. You're a soft touch because you're caring and kind. (Shucks.)
You're also the Barnacle. Can you throw anything away? You hang onto glass jars, rubber bands, tinfoil, screws, engine parts and fabric. You hang on to people, too. You even hang onto the past, which is why you own a camera.
You're friendly in a chat-in-the-elevator way, and you love to laugh! Others love your humour, too. Consider your fellow Cancers: Gilda Radner, Mel Brooks, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Cosby, Milton Berle, Phyllis Diller, "Red" Skeleton, John Lovitz and Robin Williams. (I rest my handbag.)
You're extremely practical. (Beyond cooking and gardening, which is a given.) You fix things! You throw engines into cars and nails into walls. These handy skills are partly why you don't throw anything away. You look at something and think, "I might need this some day."
Your gentle nature prohibits you from being too direct. You won't ask, "Do you want to see The Last Samurai?" (Tom's a fellow Cancer.) Instead, you'll murmur casually, "Busy tonight?" This saves you from flat out rejection.
You're enormously tenacious and committed to what you value. And what you value is your domestic security. (With a paid up mortgage and a professional stove.)
Yes, you have your pouty moments. But you're never surreal. You're like breakfast: easy over or sunny-side up with bacon on the side. (You've always got a little something on the side.)
The Past and Present
Back in 1980-81, you were trying to figure out where home was. You wanted to put down roots. Increased responsibilities with children sobered you in the mid 80s, and by 1986-87 you were bustin' your buns to make a living.
However, in 1989-90, you stepped boldly out into the world with surprising bravado. That's when close relationships suffered. (If you have to eat humble pie - use lots of whipped cream.)
Things soon picked up, and you pulled your act together by around 1996-97. That was harvest time when you reaped the rewards of past efforts. (How sweet it was.)
However, after that the bottom fell out. Holy Cannoli! It was staggering what you had to give up in the last few years. It was particularly painful for you because you don't let go of anything without a struggle.
Fortunately, last year your happiness quotient perked right up. You began to feel positive about life. You could see that there was a light at the end of the tunnel, and thank the Lord it wasn't a train.
The Year 2004
This positive optimism continues to grow in 2004. It's like you touched bottom and you're on your way back up again. The newness and freshness of your world continues to dazzle you. But the truly wonderful news is that late in 2004, you'll have the most fantastic window of opportunity for real estate and family business. You can accrue wealth in these areas then. You might move to a larger home or expand your family in some way. Your scene will definitely be more hey nonny nonny.
As this positive expansion occurs in your physical surroundings similarly, your family relations will improve as well. ("Oh joy. It's a boy.") You'll see how lucky you are to have what you call home.
(Appreciation is the most important meditation we can do -- daily.)
More about your future
With all this folksy baking, budding, planting, growing and laughter going on at home, you're thinking a lot about values. You want to make sure you choose values that serve you well into the future. (You don't want to put your money on the wrong horse.) Thus, you have to know what's important in life: what do you want?
If you don't have a goal, then any road will take you where you're going. As you wade through this evaluation process, you might feel that your control over what you own is slipping from your fingers.
Quit worrying about what you want. Start appreciating what you have. After all -- what you really want is happiness. When lucky Jupiter shifts into Libra in September 2004, (for the first time in 12 years) you'll feel relieved, happy and content!
That's a personal guarantee. (At least for the life of the building.)
Relationships and Romance
Naturally, you have to find somebody who is as tender and sensitive as you are. But your sensitivity can make you stay in the wrong relationships too long because you hate to hurt someone. Plus you fear you'll never find that magic again. Worse yet, you may never find anybody again! This is all based on your secret fear that you'll never find anyone who will love you the way you need to be loved. Erase this from your mind! (This is Cancer psychobabble.)
In the year ahead, your contentment and confidence grows because you're happier with your home. In turn, this happiness makes you blossom. Two years from now -- sweet love wraps you in its arms. Romance, pleasure and thumb sucking security are possible then. (Start baking.)
Coping with Challenges in 2004
Saturn is in Cancer. Grandpa has arrived.
The last time Saturn was in Cancer was 1973-75. This is a significant time in your life. You might feel stiff joints, achy bones and problems with your teeth. You might also feel older. (Naturally, you're keeping this to yourself.)
Some of you are middle-aged (that's when you start talking to your parents and your kids in the same tone of voice.) But the truth is, Saturn in your sign signifies the beginning of a new 30-year cycle in your life. You've reenlisted for one more round, which is why you're suddenly serious about your responsibilities. (Nothing wrong with that.)
Failures and successes are clear: it's report card time. But Saturn will help you focus on what you need to do because Saturn is just, reliable and above all the Great Teacher.
You're embarking on one of the most important learning curves of your life. Don't worry which side your bread is buttered on -- you eat both sides anyway.
Your Mantra for 2004
I appreciate who I am and what I have.
